The only things my kids have been seeing is the struggle. How we can't afford gas. Or we have to cancel planned trips because groceries are more important. They've witnessed sacrifice. But still... NO MATTER WHAT, they have also noticed the love. My youngest (daughter) Katie has randomly started saying she loves me! My two older boys (on the spectrum), have started to randomly hug me and snuggle more (they used to hate hugs). It's the little things. Like they understand now that luxury, vacations, fancy vehicles, tons of money in the bank isn't what life is about. It's about us: family and love. We live in a very rural area, so they don't have many friends. So we are a close family on a small farm. I am thankful. Thank yall for this video. VERY uplifting. I needed this as a reminder of how far we have come... Are we basically poverty level? Yes. But we are OK. I'm OK. This is... OK.

Yes...continue on the path of personal development and becoming the best version of yourself you can. Turn off the garbage FB and Netflix and immerse yourself in Personal Development. Try it for 1 Mo...nothing but goal setting, motivational speaking, better parenting, better spouse, conflict resolution, communication tips etc. Tons of stuff. And one can find a lot of it free. Anyone can do it...Anyone can change and improve their situation if they're willing to put in the work. I've seen people double their salary and get offered jobs they didn't have actual qualifications for. But bosses were looking and heard about the life changes they started making.

I think I’m going to have to watch and listen to this a few more times. I feel compelled to listen multiple times! As a broken and broke lost soul of an almost 55yr old veteran, I’m on the verge of completely giving up on everything. Lost soul is an understatement. I’m just trying to get out of this funk and trying to survive. Love all your adventure videos Heavy D but this one in particular hit me hard making me realize that there is a small glimmer of hope to dig out and succeed. I have watched many videos of so many different thing wishing I had thought of that. I have been a failure my entire life. Nothing to show for it except my youngest child who has never given up like his old man. He now has 2 degrees and working on his masters. He and I had a discussion the other day. I always tell him I’m proud of him and the other day he said that he owes it all to the way I raised him. I always taught my kids to never give up because to give up you will always struggle. I guess I didn’t practice what I preached. It was eye opening and now this video pops up. It’s time for me to get my shit figured out and how to survive better and actually do something of worth. I would love for it to happen overnight considering my age now but I know it’s going to take some time, hard work and heavy thought. Now just to figure out where to begin. Thank you again for posting this!! Mad respects to you brother!!

"We will make it work" Is what my brother-in-law said once when he was involved with the refitting equipment that had problems. A few years later they fixed it with his and others modifications, year was 1982. Plane is still flying and being made. I used the line and meant it in a meeting about a piece of equipment that no one had been able to correct the defects. I had no idea how to do it. Six months later it was working well. A positive attitude gets you further than a negative attitude.
As to children they eventually become you if if you let them. Giving them things is bad. Helping them get things is good. At 21 our daughter bought her first house. She had saved half the down payment. We lent her the other half interest free. Five years later she paid it back.
    Good information you all provided
If I lived in your state I would vote for you

This was meant for me to hear. This evening, I had a photo assignment photographing 120 people on-site and also printing their image. Lord knows that I did not want to leave my bed today or any other day since I retired over two years ago. I have another assignment later today to photograph a college event of 85 students. Ed's interview has opened my eyes to due something positive daily now. Heavy if I was younger, I would apply for a job at your company only to be in your presence because of the positive energy you generate with your team. This was the perfect video that I needed today. This was such a powerful interview. I will definitely be listening again very soon.
I've been dealing with a lot of shit mentally and physically from a freak accident with a falling tree hitting me driving a family members Jeep while my truck was down. I'm so blessed to be alive and talking about it. Now going back to riding the bus while my primary vehicle was being repaired by me with a broken wrist and whiplash had me feeling like I was back to penny less days again. Then not working on my business because of injuries was really messing with my head. I don't do well sitting still. Listening to this I worked on some knives to do something small.
Yesterday I went and looked at the 80 foot tree that should have killed me 3 weeks ago and I had such a sense of how close things were to changing forever. I realized that when I called my GF before 911 that night, it was because I didn't know how bad I was yet, I just knew I was alive. I wanted her to be the last voice I heard if things were worse than I realized. I was borrowing my cousins Jeep when the tree fell, my GF was supposed to be in the side that was demolished. I have so much to give thanks for.
This video helped me realize this slow down time for me isn't permanent and that I just need to give thanks every single day. Tell those people in my life that I love them. Thank you for this.

Law father just hit home with me more than anyone ever has, my fiance and I lost a baby girl Jan-05-2015 we where almost at 28 weeks and her cervix got thin and they had to implant a sirclauge and about 3 days after, it set up a bad infection and caused her water to break which sent her into labor way to early. The hardest thing I ever had to do was watch her give birth and see my baby only live 13 seconds. It shattered my heart watching how bad it hurt her. because there was nothing I could do I felt so helpless. That image comes back in my head constantly of us coming home without our baby girl. People love your children and never take it for granted because it can be taken away from you in a split second. I'm 30 years old and still haven't got the chance to be a father even tho it's the one thing i want more than anything. We have baby and toddler nieces and nephews that help feel the void, but I know one day God will give us a miracle.

Right now i'm trying so hard at 37 years old to start this business, and I let it cross my mind to give up and just get a job. Listening to other people and their struggle to succeed really has helped me keep going. The big one i took from this video was when Ed said it was just taking the steps no matter how you feel that day. That sounds so simple, but it's a big deal. It's surprising that on a day i feel motivated, and how my whole day that day goes. It's great! Compared to days when I've lost my motivation and i don't do much. Maybe i am just going to have a good story to look back at one day too. Keep on keeping on! Thanks for this video.

I lost my wife a few years ago to cancer after 40 years together and since I have gone down hill since, emotionally physically etc. I used to be pretty active, worked 40+ hours a week, a very active volunteer fire fighter (32 years) and my wife's care taker. Now I moved from my home in Nevada to a small cabin in Alaska and seemed to become a recluse. So hopefully when the book arrives it will help to turn things around.
Keep doing what you do, God Bless.

All of you , I’m not “super rich” by any means but have a 3yr old boy (bday today) and I’m finding it hard to not create a entitled child as it’s so hard to not just give him everything. And in this day and age it seems to be getting harder and harder. Thanks so much. Not even half way through this pod cast but already hooked. One thing I know is my son is very companionate and caring and what you guys seem to be saying he’s not far off being a good person. ❤️❤️❤️

It’s truly inspiring to see because normally people that have the things and success that you do aren’t honest about anything really. And thank you for your inspiring words, they truly do lift me up. Needed this.
Ever since retiring from the military 12 years ago, I've been literally sitting watching others live their lives here.
42:20 Broke me down. This is so key.
I'm surrounded with the past of mine and others lives and feel like I've done all I'm here to do.
I know it's not true, but I've been doing just enough to get by for so long it's hard to even imagine anything else.
The constant negative feedback loop between why should I try when no one really cares and I have more than I deserve anyway, keeps me from imagining I deserve anything different.
Bless anyone who reads this to not stay trapped in this self imposed solitary confinement and work towards creating their own heaven for themselves and the ones they care about.
If you can't take care of yourself, you won't benefit those around you.

I can relate to this. The demons take up so much of my time, and the confidence is gone. So are most of the people I knew, and most of my family has big success and moved to different places around the world. When every one are doing great, it emphasixe how bad I've been doing. Having a big hole in my CV, no education, and getting older makes it really hard to get a job.
I'm not looking for motivational words or pity, though. I know what's wrong and the slim chances of straightening my life out. Some time in the future I'll inherit a huge chunk of money, which kinda makes me sad and optimistic at the same time. Stay strong, guys.

I love the bunch of you. So genuine. That's what I got from you All! Positively genuine gentlemen moving forward with their dreams. To those who have lost others to cancer, I'm with you. I could be a commercial for not smoking. Lost Mom to lung cancer in 1998, older sister beat lung cancer 8 years ago. I lost my larynx and voice to it in 2016 . And know some one with it now. It's a beast. I just watched and enjoyed the positive things ,humor in a big way is a great muscle. Along with love. What I pray for is children who who have it. A lot of love for them. And children whose main disability is politicians and drug dealers. When I say "politicians" I mean genuine toxic sociopaths with cult followers who live without good positive guidance. A recipe for disaster. I pray for the kids who are held down by the toxicity and bondage of gangs. A better future is coming because we can only go up.

It has been so difficult since me and my son lost her but I remind myself every single day of the things that we taught each other and it is just enough to keep me going. It's been 2 years since I lost her and since then I fully believe that she sent me yet another person that supports me just like she did.
