  • In this chapter, the siege of the fort continues. As the violence continues to escalate, Einar and Bug-Eyes find a brief reprieve to talk and evaluate the direction this war is heading in.

Someone pointed out that I misread a page! Bug-Eyes was the one to yell "what the hell are you doing" when the men executed the Lnu warrior, I accidentally said it was Einar. Makes sense that Bug-Eyes would be the one to outwardly question it while Einar holds back and accepts it.

I think it's Bug Eyes who said that no? Einar was closer to the men and his dark beard is shown. besides that, love your analysis and the symbol of peace being the cause of destruction is such an amazing detail thank you for pointing it out

great review myre, do you think yukimura might kill off one of thorfinn's crew (including possible thorfinn himself) before the end of the manga? if so who you think it might be?

I personally think Hild will never return to Iceland. Either she gets punished for her crusade or she just leaves to the woods as an outcast.
But I'm afraid the person who dies will be Einar. It's just too poetic for his character (and he has nothing to do anywhere outside of Vinland)

And yes, Thorfinn son of Thors is likely to die as well

@@gohu11 einar would hit so hard man especially if thorfinn's there to witness it, but i do agree with you it would be really poetic, he'd be like the captain going down with his ship, I'd be so devastated bruh despite not being einar's biggest fan

Hild, Einar, and Bug-Eyes are the ones that make sense to me, I don't think all of them would die but at least one. Thorfinn historically returns to Iceland and I don't think Yukimura is going to deviate from that.

@@gohu11I think Thorfinn needs to live to wrap up his character arc well. It would be pretty unsatisfying if he never reaches a conclusion regarding his imperfect ideology

Pretty good chapter moving the war quickly. The tribal men are definitely going to get sick due to missing the rats so if the war lasts longer than this sea invasion they'll lose.
Also love the detail that einar is having trouble with a bow. Most shows and anime make bow users the weaker character while acting like the sword guy is super strong. Bows are way harder to use than people think and like a male cheerleader to football player it's better training too.
Surprised thorfinn is still away and not seeing the women who left and if they are safe. Guess that's next chapter

The Cordelia scene sets an underrated pre-tense for the chapter. Yes, Cordelia attempts to advise the Lnu to save their comrade. But because of the language barrier, her attempts to deal with them peacefully will ultimately fall on deaf ears. She smacked s guy into the sea and probably broke his ribs. As far as the Lnu know, Cordelia could be saying they're already dead, Kenshiro style.
The rest of the chapter shows how any attempts at communication or 'peaceful force' are ultimately futile. Bug Eyes, the only one who understands the Lnu language, is rendered useless in war. Einar's relief that a guy survived his arrow immediately results in him losing an eye. The only hope of any communication is Thorfinn, Plmk and co.
If this chapter focuses entirely on the battle, I predict the next chapter will focus on Thorfinn.

    Great analysis! 💪
I think yours prediction are correct.
Let me say you my thoughts:
    1) In my opinion too, Thorfinn will not die, this stuff would be too obvious so I think Thorfinn will survive for learning one last lesson, a stoic lesson...
"Some things are in our control and others not. Things in our control are opinion, pursuit, desire, aversion, and, in a word, whatever are our own actions. Things not in our control are body, property, reputation, command, and, in one word, whatever are not our own actions"
And the final message of the Manga will be: Why try to make ourselves and the world a better place?
This manga was created to inspire and to tell about growth and change.
Our reality is a harsh and violent place, being more peaceful, good, strong and kind probably won't eliminate barbarism and wickedness but this doesn't mean that we should give in to the most easy path.
    2) I'm not sure if we see again Thorkell (that would be cool) but I'm sure that it will a happen whit Canute in the epilogue.
    3) given how the story is progressing I expect more chapters than expected.
some have predicted it will end at 220°.
    Impossible.
Maybe the work will end up at 230° but I wouldn't bet on it.
I'm learning English so forgive me for my mistakes.

Man I thought Einar was dead for a second when I saw one panel of the arrow hitting him. Also Yukimura is just so good at doing these battles
