As has been mentioned, their defense of choice involves sealing their burrow with their butt, which has a thick cartilage shield that none of their normal predators can bite through.
He says he "plays rough". Wombats are very powerful with strong claws, they live in the ground like a rabbit. I've held one and patted one at a wildlife park, they are all muscle like a little bulldozer.

The baby wombats are very playful. When they grow up they can be super aggressive and territorial. You can't keep them as pets because they destroy everything and burrow into everything. Their teeth are so strong they can bite through lots of stuff
@@doryfishie2 The trouble is i heard it is illegal to re-release them into the wild if they have been raised in captivity only because they don't fair well at all if that happens. They will die without human assistance as adults, and don't think they have figured out yet is rehabilitation for the wild is even possible with them. The videos i have seen of them show them to adorable as babies, and then as teens and adults they have a very strong will, so they won't stop if they want something, and as you said they can chew through most household materials baring metal, ceramic, and they are like little bulldozers pushing everything in the house around, all the cupboards that are unlocked are fair game, all the shelves, cushions, towels, sheets, laundry, books, it is all going on the floor or being pushed around where they want it that day. They can bite but if they love the person they can be taught not to bite hard, but even then they will still nibble. Australia has really odd weather at times, so if you see someone wetting dirt or grass its usually since a hot day is to come so it helps negate some water loss.

They can survive collisions with moving traffic.
