My pops grew up in West Philly and the one thing he despises most are gangs. Hes been stabbed multiple times and shot at because of gangs. He constantly had to fight them on the way to school as well. Thats stuck with me throughout my life. Im always cognizant of the people I allow in my life because of him. This guy is truly blessed. Not all shotgun rounds spread. There's birdshot (small bb's, and alot of them, pretty weak compared to others, like this case), buckshot (big bbs, but less of them), and slugs (single projectile, packs alot of punch)
My belief is that the reason ross survived was that the shooter made the poor choice of birdshot (obviously I'm not saying that it was a bad thing that ross survived, just pointing out that a more educated killer would have made a different choice ammo wise). A slug to the chest would have stopped his heart instantly. I love this story. I've watched it atleast 15 times oddly enough. Dont know why, but it is really motivational.

Yeah, you 100%. Birdshot can kill you but it can take awhile for you to die. Mostly from blood loss. If the shooter used 00 buckshot he would have killed him instantly with the shot to the chest. It would have blown his heart apart. That shooter was a fucking idiot, one for even wanting to do it, two for using birdshot, and three for calling a friend and telling him he shot someone. Man this is such an inspirational story. It's a legit miracle Ross survived, even tho it was only birdshot, he still was pronounced doa
My husband was killed with birdshot by his "best friend". Shot him from 3 feet away in the head. It spread. He threw his arm up and it had bbs in it, so did his eyes. 12 Gauge.

4:35 Thats like reports of some stabbing victims. They say they feel like they get punched until they look down and that's when the pain starts. I feel like the human brain assumes the best possible outcome. Grew up with and without a father due to certain factors in my life and while hes been in my life from a far, I didnt really have a positive father figure in my formative years and made some mistakes I'm still paying for. Dont get it twisted, *I* made those choices, and as a 28 year old man now I will take responsibility but maybe I wouldn't have made as much or any at all with a dad like yours to kick some knowledge my way and tell me these types of things. Usually when I watch rectors its mainly for entertainment, and seeing how people react to things Im interested in. I don't necessarily think highly or negatively of the creator. 2:35 THIS!! I had a gut feeling a few minutes prior to when I was robbed, I was supposed to be meeting a "friend" but they ended up robbing me. While I was driving to hang out with them, I had a gut feeling that I chalked up to anxiety but I still texted my sister to share my location with her and I am glad I did. ALWAYS listen to that gut feeling, your intuition knows a lot more than we think it does. I just wish I would've listened to it that day and turned around instead of ignoring it.

there was a case here in norway about the same time, 2007, that went crazy with a shotgun at a gas station, i was on my way to high scholl, i was 18 in 2007, he used birdshot, some ppl got 80 of this burds peellets in they"re forehead, notthing happend, alot of payne, but no damage, i saw this from the buss with my own eyes and then read about it later, thats why i belive it was buckshots ross was hit with

As someone who's had a couple traumatic injuries, like a chainsaw to the leg, you've got ten to fifteen minutes to deal with it before it goes from "I'm a beast. I can't even feel it." to AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!. The body has some pretty cool mechanisms for survival.

One thing you may have missed was that this is posted on "the berrics" which is a linked to skateboarding, Ross is now a pro skater, and alot of people are naive to real skater culture. Alot of skaters come from unstable homes and bc skating is our escape from reality, for many of us it's not uncommon to "dissapear" from home for a few days without being questioned. I've also thought for a whiiiillleee that you guys should maybe react to some skateboarding since you guys did sports, and alot of skateboarding videos use old school hip hop as a soundtrack. Dude came to my home town I think I might've hung out with him that skate video by the water is my home town that's Port Huron Michigan's pinegrove park skate park we all used to skate down there dude be very lucky dude blessed by God really shout out to you Ross for not giving up on us sometimes people need to hear stories like this and to be shot 3 times by a double barrel shot holyshit you blessed lots of my friends have been shot from similar situations like this my town is very historical everything from Thomas Edison has been here to the civil war and the war of Fort Gratiot that park he was skating at is a very legendary skate park in my town everyone who skated there eventually become famous later in there lives town hawk came to my town there one year and even skated there Bam margera and Matt Hoffman too damn I've never realized how my famous people and public figures have been in my town even David Coulier or better known as Joey from full House had been here Larry The Cable Guy even a few WWE venues have been here hell a lot of America's got talent and Idol winners came from here to and newer Detroit rappers from here have been here I don't hate my town as much now that I look at the history it has had I just wish it didn't look so dumpy

Ross is a scumbag and a junkie.. You do know that this whole story is BS right? He got shot by a drug dealer he robbed. Ross was a junkie and was going around robbing Oxy dealers to feed his habit. Ross was from a upper class family and a very strict Italian father.. He likely made up this BS to cover his drug use and dealing from his family and from cops. And it worked. It was a perfect cover story.

See man, I 1000% agree with what he said at the End, I've had that argument so many times here in Philly. Like I tell people a normal civilian is not a snitch, like even if dude been in fights, like yeah dude through his hands to protect himself, but then the person comes back with a group and jumps him, or stabs him, or shoots him, so then he go to the police, they be like oh he a snitch for that.
