- Homelessness is a major problem in many cities across the United State, with thousands of people left without a place to call home. At Homes 4 the Homeless, we believe that everyone deserves a safe, comfortable place to live, which is why we’ve developed an innovative micro housing plan that offers a unique solution to the problem of homelessness. Our plan combines the use of HUD housing vouchers with eco-friendly, sustainable living solutions, providing individuals with a safe, comfortable home while also reducing their carbon footprint.
Our micro housing plan is based on the use of eco-friendly materials and construction practices, including the use of composting toilets, solar power, water recycling and high R-value SIPs panel construction. SIPs stand for Structurally Insulated Panels. By constructing our units in the smallest legal footprint possible, we are able to qualify for the housing authority’s highest payment standard. This allows us to provide individuals with comfortable, one-bedroom units that are more cost-efficient than traditional housing options.
