Tip to open scarlet and violet packs is open the pack with the pictures facing downwards. Take 1 card from the top and move it to the back of the deck. Next, flip the deck over to the pictures facing you. The first card should always be an energy if the trick worked. For sword and shield packs, you move 4 to the back instead of 1.
So for the card trick here’s what you need to do for this set: First turn all cards to the back so the “code” card is the card you see (like what you did) Then move one card from the back and move it to the front Then turn the cards around and open them from the front. This should leave you with the rare as the last card

card trick- have the fronts face away, put code card to side, take top card and put it underneath, turn cards over and you're ready
