UPDATE: I finally got to use the Arbor Press with the metal stamping tool! OMG! This is wonderful! I'm so glad for the internet! I honestly cannot wait to use it again. It wasn't as hard on my wrist as the banging of a hammer was before (it didn't help the carpal tunnel either). :) Thanks for creating this tool! :)
Thank you for the video. Personally, I would use an x-y vise, which can be picked up for like $50. Then you can just move it along in a line perfectly and get your letters in a straight line without a piece of tape.
The purchase of an insert is required when buying the attachment, but to use a 1" stamp you would insert the stamp into the attachment without an insert.
Is that the 1 ton Arbour press? I'm looking to buy a press and have been looking at the 1 ton ones. I'd like to get one of those stamp attachments if the attachments will fit the 1 ton Arbour press. But not if it's a different one.
hi, for those of you that use a 1/2 ton arbor press... what ga metal do you use with it? i bought one and a few design stamps a month ago, and i tried using 24ga dead stof sterling silver, nothing transfered, so i went to 26ga, and i got a little impression and a better one after i used a hammer on the ram, which i dont want to do. i thought i would just have to pull the handle down and then my design would be on the metal? maybe im just really weak? i just ordered 28ga but am worried that might be too thin. i can never get the full design when i hand stam, i've tried the tilt n tap but always mess it up. letter stamps, numbers and simple designs i have no problem free handing on metals up to 24ga.
@@FlatwearableArtisanJewelry thank you i will try that. i also tried lowering the press because i had it on my kitchen island, i think if i put it on a lower table or something i will get more leverage.
Thank you for the video. You are correct, before you start stamping you need to but these. Where can I purchase these attachments? Will they work with Beaducaton design stamps?
I bought the tools and a one ton Arbor Press. My stamps fit but I am only getting a partial stamp. I am practicing on copper but want to stamp silver. On one You tube a guy is hitting the top of the shank but you are not. Should I be able to just press the stamp? I feel Ike I’m pressing hard. Please advise.

I have a one inch stamp, would I just buy the metal stamping tool attachment? Or how do I use a 1 inch stamp?

What surface are you using to stamp against?
@@FlatwearableArtisanJewelry a steel block.
@@shaunasilver9545 You should be getting an impression but your metal is also pretty thin. I would suggest going down to 20 gauge or thicker
