mammoth gets 2nd best weight reduction for wood (75%), below rollrat (80%). but therizino is more fun imo. love the delicate tickle animation. reminds me of edward scissorhands! and even if it requires more trips with the weight, it is just a good way to level up your therizino army!
In PVP, the quetzal is the opposite of redundant. It’s really good for moving paracers and rock golems for soaking bases placed in the roof of abberation or the valguero ab cave.

Totally agree about the Quetzal speed. These guys are hectic long distance flyers so getting some extra movement would be key (unless it’s been adjusted in the last 2 years lol)
i find the quetzal very valuable, for the purpose of snatching wild dinos out of a spot where they are definitely going to die, and transporting them to a taming pen (usually a 3x3x3 stone box w/o ceiling) only a few larger dinos can't be picked up by quetzal. in that case i use the same 3x3 stone box trap, with some stone ramps on one side, baiting the dino into the trap with a flyer.
I despise how slow they are, but lately I’ve been getting the itch to tame one. And this video just confirmed that I need one now. I wasn’t expecting that tropeo to die either, killed me tho 😂
I feel like the Quetzal should get a galloping ability on the ground. Because I read somewhere that they used to literally gallop across the ground due to their sheer size, and I just feel like that would be cool and slightly terrifying to see.
@Moonly Moon it definitely would be. Just imagine this giant, giraffe sized pterosaur galloping at you in the middle of the night lol. That could also give it a speed buff, perhaps like the gallimimus or the Ferox? If you gallop long enough on the ground it could give a speed boost to the quetz
On the subject of a Quetzal TLC, I think a cool idea would be instead of catching a draft, if they got faster if they got hit like the wild ones do. Kinda like bangalore in apex. So you could find something, piss it off, get hit, and get a little speed boost for 30 seconds or something.
I feel like it would be so cool if Quetzels had the speed buff with an imprint instead of owls. It would be cool if they all had that but it would be especially awesome if it was Quetz exclusive BC they're so slow
Hi. Thanks for the video. I took sometime to think about it and thanks to cryo, you can go to the swamp with a pteranodon and make the trip back with the Quetzal holding the mammoth. Just an idea. Not tried yet.
The reason for that is prevent dino running off unlike single player creatures keeping spawning when your offline all his flyers die or run off would if they were neutral

I know this video is old but my buff for the quetzal has always been to scale it’s movement speed with altitude. When it is higher it moves faster. Turn it into an airline plane. Great for long distance trips. Not great for short ones.
ez quetzal tame instructions: step 1 - get some rare flowers and a flyer, bolas, tranqs. step 2 - eat rare flower while flying near a tapejara to agro it - and fly to a safe taming spot! step 3 - eat more flower after effect expires til you reach the ground. step 4 - land in a safe spot, bola the tapejara while it attacks your flyer, shoot it with tranqs! ez tame! step 5 - take tapejara to find quetzal. step 6 - land tapejara, facing quetzal, with visual on quetzal. step 7 - get in front passenger seat of tapejara. step 8 - rotate between a few whistle commands - attack this - passive - move here. (attack command is needed to take off, passive or move command when you get too close, move command pointing in the sky in the direction you want to turn...) step 9 - make sure you knock the quetzal in a safe spot.

Your right Syntac I would say that quetzales are common on Crystal Isles I could be flying around the map looking for one high level and find like 5-10 quetzales all over the place. Go to Crystal Isles for some Quetzales.

Yep, there are a lot of quetzals, one specific area has more quetzals then the island has in a whole
I use quetzals on Ark mobile where the flyer nerf never hepened, ignoring the fact they did patched the turrets a few weeks ago.
