It would be cool if quetzals were aggressive and would envelop you in their wing and peck at you while you are trapped. They hunted like this in real life.

@@banblurr3847 np it's by far the easiest way as you dont have to follow it around like on a griffin u can just cage it when it drops you just gotta be quick or with 2 people will make it faster but not needed.glad I could help 👍

In PVP, the quetzal is the opposite of redundant. It’s really good for moving paracers and rock golems for soaking bases placed in the roof of abberation or the valguero ab cave.
Thats why you put your tames on neutral at least a few
Just hit it with multiple chain bolas. Stack them one after the other and it drains food quicker than hurting it.

Magmasaur for metal gathering. Also, if you load up a gasbag, you can carry the gasbag with a wyvern and the weight transfer is nothing. Just a thought

I feel like the Quetzal should get a galloping ability on the ground. Because I read somewhere that they used to literally gallop across the ground due to their sheer size, and I just feel like that would be cool and slightly terrifying to see.
@Moonly Moon it definitely would be. Just imagine this giant, giraffe sized pterosaur galloping at you in the middle of the night lol. That could also give it a speed buff, perhaps like the gallimimus or the Ferox? If you gallop long enough on the ground it could give a speed boost to the quetz
I like how Syntac has the ability to completely screw up and then die laughing about it. But seriously if the tropeo is that damaged don't shoot it with an acendant shotgun.

Yea I did too. They were only level 26 though... it was a blood bath....
My quetzals were 325 lvl and 100% imprinted
i find the quetzal very valuable, for the purpose of snatching wild dinos out of a spot where they are definitely going to die, and transporting them to a taming pen (usually a 3x3x3 stone box w/o ceiling)
only a few larger dinos can't be picked up by quetzal. in that case i use the same 3x3 stone box trap, with some stone ramps on one side, baiting the dino into the trap with a flyer.

Totally agree about the Quetzal speed. These guys are hectic long distance flyers so getting some extra movement would be key (unless it’s been adjusted in the last 2 years lol)
When he shot the Tropeo down I didn’t know if laughing or crying, I wanted to do both
Edit: wanted to _share my opinion_ on that for me the Magmasaur is the best metal gatherer

Hi. Thanks for the video. I took sometime to think about it and thanks to cryo, you can go to the swamp with a pteranodon and make the trip back with the Quetzal holding the mammoth. Just an idea. Not tried yet.

I use quetzals on Ark mobile where the flyer nerf never hepened, ignoring the fact they did patched the turrets a few weeks ago.
On the subject of a Quetzal TLC, I think a cool idea would be instead of catching a draft, if they got faster if they got hit like the wild ones do. Kinda like bangalore in apex. So you could find something, piss it off, get hit, and get a little speed boost for 30 seconds or something.
Soul ball the creatures. Go to the swamp on a faster flyer... gather. Then quet back the mammoth..... rinse repeat?

Yep, there are a lot of quetzals, one specific area has more quetzals then the island has in a whole
I know this video is old but my buff for the quetzal has always been to scale it’s movement speed with altitude. When it is higher it moves faster. Turn it into an airline plane. Great for long distance trips. Not great for short ones.

Your right Syntac I would say that quetzales are common on Crystal Isles I could be flying around the map looking for one high level and find like 5-10 quetzales all over the place.

The unboubtedly best metal gatherer is the dunkleo, granted there are metal nodes near where you live. They gather many times the metal an anky does, and have insane weight to boot
that raptor situation almost happened to me on mobile but thats why i almost always have a few creatures around the base on neutral, just in case something slips in

I did a hardcore Taming of Quetzal only, pterodactyl bow, tranq arrows,meat and narcotics without traps took me 5 hours (Quetzal was at max level)

Beavers are much better for harvesting wood. They reduce the weight much more, and they auto harvest just like the doedic
