Ill never forget waking up going downstairs to have breakfast, hearing this song on the radio and having the DJ say John was no longer with us... This song holds a different meaning to me ,
Great tutorial JJ - you said you didn't know how much practical application it would have for playing in a bar etc, but it has a lot for all of us trying to improve our playing, timing etc. Thanks :)

On Aminor I usually play an Aminor instead of Asus2 however I replace my third finger hitting A and stretch my pinky to the fourth fret of the third string which is a B you could hear the clashy notes B&C to me this sounds exactly like it and the D that sounds like it follows C I play C then C add D
I watched someone else play that staccato part where Paul comes in "woke up got out of bed". I'm not sure what the chords are called it was like an e minor but with the ring finger on the 2nd fret g string, 222 on A D G strings. Then goes to 212 on the same strings. To me it sounds much more like the record. Thanks for the lesson.
I'm betting you read Geoff Emerick's book, "Here, There, and Everywhere" for the recording tidbit's on this song....If not, I recommend it for many of the technique applied to their songs.
The d-41 has always been my dream guitar I tried to trade my custom shop Les Paul Custom and realized I was getting the s*** stick so I guess I just have to save up for one..unless you want to Trade 😊 I'll definitely check out The Guild Nonetheless, you've helped me through a million songs and thank you for that

@@jamesjames9275 Duh, yeah, I am a dope... John's even playing that in Help! on You've Got to Hide Your Love Away. Any thought to adding a 12-string to the JJ arsenal?

A lesson of my favorite song, from my favorite band, from my favorite teacher. Thanks so much for all your videos!!
11:18. I love how that piano lick comes out on guitar.
Thanks! I need to work on that up-down pattern....
Good idea on the freak-out part. I was always unsure of what to do....

It sounds great, doesn’t it?
Have you seen Neil Young and Paul McCartney do this at Hyde Park June 27 2009? It's a must see

This is great, very accurate, which is not often seen in tutorials or covers.
That's such a lovely guitar 😊
Very nice, I've needed the fill in parts to this song
Here’s a tip say sugarplum fairy and it helps with the strumming trust me
Damn I just commented on that very thing....ur absolutely correct
Amazing lesson, needed help with strumming and this will really help! Thanks.

I got in touch with Joe, that was were i messed up thought his name was John. Hope all is well yalls way.
Great lesson. Can’t pick these chords out on the recording.

It would be hard to come up with a Beatles-related book I haven't read. :)
Nobody could strum like JL
J.J. is the key of a song the one that corresponds to the first chord?
Sometimes, but not always.
when you beat a Martin, it shows it's guts!
D41?
Yes, it's a nice one. I don't play it nearly enough. In fact, since I got my Guild D55, I don't play the Martin at all.

You really have a couple of songs up your sleeve, haven’t you? Lol
you said lilt...
Thats not how I strum it. Also a 12 string helps.
Strum it however you wish and use whatever guitar you like. But it’s not a 12-string on the record.
@@jamesjames9275 Not a 12 string? Oh sorry I always thought it was. Sounds awesome on a 12 string anyway.
Off the top of my head, I can't think of a Beatles tune that features an obvious 12-sting acoustic. Anybody else?
