I'm paragon 750 and had a hard time doing level 80 rifts, had 2 ancients. So a friend had me put a level 80 gem on one of my ancients. Was a big difference and did the 80 rift solo easily after.
I normally go until I hit the wall in a GR, then do one, lather, rinse, repeat. A couple years ago it would have been closer to 50 on the first one, but this year I am still levelling gems at 80 and not even close to the time limit or feeling pressed.
I have done gr100 on wizarf, dh,wd and barb this season without a single augment and could go higher. I level a bunch of gems until I pick a character I decide to aug first. I always do it this way
Did GR 120 on my WW barb while in Para 1.3k with 8/13 full ancient gear and 0 augments. Almost did 125 on a non-festering or battlefield GR consisting of caves, Westmarch and the foggy forest. My gear is augmented now so I couldn’t try again even if I wanted to. But I know it is doable. Will prolly try next season.
depends on your pace and goals. BOOM... I answered the question stated at 12 seconds in and made everyone save 10 minutes! If you're a casual that intends to get to around 1500 paragon in one season thats about only 500s augs and 600-650 for near perfect pieces. Otherwise just dont do it. Save em for builds you really enjoy. Sorry I couldnt make it past those 12 seconds... I suppose it was a good video though so I dropped a like.
I usually wait till I hit around GR75-80 and do my first augment. 70 is the minimum level I'll augment with. Augmenting for 200 or less main stat doesn't seem effective for my playing. I'll have to give your method a whirl next season and see if I can progress faster.
I find the best time is once you get a lvl 85+ gem... Maybe it's just me, but it seems like a waste of time to put anything under 85. My first was a lvl 85, then 103, 104.. and 110+. Xbox one: HC Seasonal Rank 30 monk :)
That's definitely not worth it. the followers still don't deal relevant damage using their stats. The big change about the followers are the possible effects of "emanate" legendaries, not their stats
I just started playing D3 a couple weeks ago and I’m paragon lvl 1005 at about 130 hrs played. I can handle a GR 110 barely and I have 1.3m damage atm. All my gems are above lvl 100. And I augmented almost all my gear with lvl 90 gems. Is it my paragon level holding me back?? I have all the best in slot pieces for the GoD set all ancients and a couple primals. I just feel super weak no matter what I do.
Yeah, you need more paragon, also work towards lvl 100+ Augs. This is the part at which things get super repetitive and advancing a few levels in paragon and augment levels helps. It’s a slow creep. It’s even worse after paragon 2500. 1.3mil seems low. Can you link a d3planner of your toon?
I suspect your stats on gear are less than optimal and likely missing a lot of area damage which is really important for the GoD build, as well as having 100% uptime on vengeance through a well rolled Dawn and CDR.
I see what I’m doing wrong I had bad stat rolls on most of my gear pieces. Especially my rings focus and restraint. I swapped some pieces around and I managed to get my dmg to 1.7m now. Im also lacking a little cool down reduction my vengeance falls off for about 2 seconds before I can reapply it. Just gotta keep grinding bounties and rerolling for better stats
Augment as soon as you get ancients? Dont agree at all. You first level up your main gems and get better gear. Using top gems at level 50-70 is such a waste.
I feel like you overestimate how fast you get the fucking gems needed for these augments.... It's not possible to "just slam 50's" on all your gear as soon as possible.... that "possible" part is probably at paragon 800+ anyway :D

I tried witch doctor and I hit 11 trillion damage but I had like no armour it felt like and I could barely survive 80.
Thanks for the tips! I have been waiting to get a gem to 90 before augmenting, but your process is makes getting to higher speed GR's much faster!
Glad I could help!

I recently got into D3 and your vids have been really helpful. Thank you Sir!
With most of the builds you can do gr 99 with no augments. There is no point augmenting with anything below level 100.
I do gr 100 with no augments.

I noticed that using my DH with the Follower Lyndon the Scoundrel, augments a little the Damage
Hey if every one of your slots is an Ancient, can you augment ALL slots or is there a limit to how many augments you can do?
In season 23, does augmenting follower gear help any?!

@@mika6273 Figured as much, but I still thought I'd inquire just in case someone fooled around with the idea. Thankyou!
Does the type of gem that you used to augment make any difference? Or is it any gem at that level is all the same?
Only gem level matters
Your the Best!!!

Is that setup you have in the video good for higher greater rifts? I been using one handed crossbows for my demon hunter
It's my farming build, I do GR105 in ~4:30 or so with it. In this video its a T16/Bounty Config (The BoTH)
@@JAKEL33T oh okay, gotcha, I have the Dawn handcross bow, I think that's what it is
Can i augment same item again ? For example used lvl 100 gem on a item , after that can i replace with better gem for example 130 lvl
Yes

Level 50 is a pure waste. Level 90/100 is a minimum.
this isn’t really a how to video
