The crazy thing is that even babies lie. Lying is an evolved trait. It has its uses, even in modern society. Brutal 100% honesty is often cruel, as this show demonstrates. Finding the balance between being an honest person with the odd white lie and losing yourself to those lies is part of the journey of life.
He does have a point. most people with hold information from doctors because they are afraid the doctor will think they are stupid for not taking better care of themselves. or that they will get in some kind of trouble. Truth is, there are very few doctors who feel this way. unless you are talking extreame abuse or child rape. most doctors will only care about making you fell better.
They either do not remember or do not find it relevant. That's why when I am at the doctor I always tell them even what my stool looks like when having a fever to make sure when they give me one of their template responses I know I gave them all the information they needed.

Being someone who's been on the internet for a long time, I know that some people like to up their alone time pleasure.

It's amazing how going back to the first season you can hear just the faintest hint of Hugh's accent but in the later seasons it's completely undetectable
I think that's more-or-less the recommended approach, too. You can't soften the blow, and dancing around the subject creates the opportunity for unneeded stress, miscommunication, and false hope. Plus, it's not really in a doctor's wheelhouse, which is why you would (ideally) have grief counsellors or social workers or therapists to help the patient manage their response, as they're trained for that.
Till the very last episode i hoped to see either Stephen Fry or Rowan Atkinson as a guest patient at some point, people would've enjoyed that on so many levels.
Stephen Fry actually almost got a role and they scheduled it for when he was doing a show in the USA anyway, but they couldn’t do it because when Stephen was around, Hugh kept slipping back into his original accent - the same thing happened with a member of the crew who was from the UK, and hearing their accent made Hugh lose bits of the American accent, so Hugh had to stop talking to them

The dog bite case is a perfect illustration: once you add "the" truth (the guy loves his dog more than his life), every piece of the puzzle falls into place - which is the key in the game of diagnostics House plays. Can't say if the other guy had the same idea but this was the best explanation that I could come up with.
If you're a true fan of the show you have to appreciate the roots of the show's filmography evolution. Aside the talented actors and actresses, the directors, crew and editing team made this show epic behind the camera 👏
Still love this show! I personally always thought it was ridiculous how much patients lied in this show, I mean I'm sure patients do lie to doctors but personally if I'm *that* sick I'm too freaking scared and upset to be thinking up lies!
You have to remember that House took the patients no one else could diagnose accurately, so it makes sense they're all liars. Patients who told the truth would be easier to diagnose by any doctor.

Previous doctors had ruled out a few things cuz he said he'd never travelled to the tropics, but near the end when the guy says "No! I told you, I've never been south of Florida, it can't be that!" - _the look_ on House's face!!! House calls him an idiot, and the guy goes, "Florida counts?!?!?" The look on that guy's face, my god. Excellent actor, and that episode was just laced with tension - what with the whole hostage thing - and it's done _well._ Easy recommendation 👍

There was the old mother who had syphilis. Sure, she didn't tell him that she had been diagnosed for it before, but it never even came up in conversation either. I'm any case, she didn't technically lie. Plus, she gave him the whole truth of what she felt and why she felt the need to be in the hospital.

Wish I had House as my doctor when I was having allergic reactions to medical grade PVC.... I had some pills tossed at me and told to come back after a week if it doesn't clear up. .... Even though I told him it clears up on it's own after a few days and happened again after the pills. Had to rationalize it out myself.
So are you allergies better now, did you find some way to cope with them? p.s. Same issues with insomnia/sleeping troubles/depression disorder. Don't even go to doctors anymore with this stuff, no sense....

I also have to request non-latex gloves at the doctor and dentist to avoid possible reactions (I don't always have reactions, but when I do they're pretty bad). Both allergies are quite common so neither really impede life. I don't really like doctors or medicine. Therapists are even more hit and miss for my depression and anxiety. ('All your problems are linked to this one big thing in your past.' No it ain't... Here's what's wrong with me, here's why I'm like this, I just need help fixing it. '... I don't think that's it.' Fml)
