Hey cool video Hate and love this deck lol 16.3 minutes in I think I take a line that includes spell skite and try to protect. It feels like taking lantern isn't playing to win. Weird spot. Cool to see this deck again 🙏🏾
Surgical effects for me have been hit or miss for me although I'm not sure why they would be stronger now than before. Hitting Phlage would feel nice though 😎
@@MikeDeVo1 I used to like Surgical but haven't played Lantern since MH3. It seems like a good plan against Nadu, I would try extirpate over srugical because of Jeskai and Goryo's.
It's not optimal or even good, but I swear there is nothing like watching your opponent's soul leave their body after they realize they're losing to a madman who sleeved up Codex Shredder.
This looks awesome, glad to see its still a winning strategy, maindeck surgical extracitons have been very well in UB mill. Wondering if trimming down the Inquisitions could maybe slot that in
Thank you! I wouldn't mind one maindeck Surgical, but I think having minimum 6 hand disruption spells is important. I would probably switch out the relic which is one this versions flex spot.
4-1's a great record! I'm curious to see how the 3-color lists do in the current meta, there's not a lot of lists out right now that I can find outside of Golgari. Boros Energy is a tough matchup, especially the newer builds that don't run Amulet and just go full aggro. Right now the current solution to that in the community seems to be boardwiping (either Bontu's Last Reckoning or Toxic Deluge, some people are testing Path of Peril as well) and running cheap removal / Collective Brutality in the board to slow them down. A lot of those newer builds are on things like Goblin Bombardment too, which means Bridge doesn't always protect you from their large board state unless you can find Needles. It's pretty unforgiving! Burn can be a tough matchup, but it's much less common to run into these days. GDS can be an odd matchup, you're fighting to resolve a Bridge but once you do the battle's pretty much over most of the time. Eldrazi and Necro are super favorable matchups, I love matching into Eldrazi on Leagues ;D Look forward to seeing how the deck evolves over time!
Thank you! I can definitely see adding some of those mentioned sweepers to the sideboard especially since Energy is so popular right now. Appreciate the advice 😎
This is an interesting build, and a good showing for it too! I must ask, why a friendly league over a standard league? Are the payouts for friendly leagues better?
The payout is actually worse. 4-1 in friendly gets your points back… regular league 3-2 gets your points back…. In my experience friendly league is the same meta (same decks) but not as knowledgeable players. 5-0 league tho is way more satisfying ;)
Ahhh that's the risk of playing Lantern! But that should never happen, so I'm sorry 🙁 - it can still definitely steal games, but with every new set it gets harder and harder.. Keep us posted and GL!
I can see that. I don't think I had much mana difficulty with the small splash, but going GB could make things easier. I'll have to test out different versions.
What do you guys think of this version? Are there any other cards I should include??

Extripate seems really strong right now
Thank you! Appreciate the line

Haha, that’s my motivation 💪🏼
Aren’t you afraid some day anyone will throw a Molotov cocktail through your window due the decks you play? 😂
Hahah I guess I do have a type.. I like to have all of the fun 😈

More of lantern pls
You got it!
I recently got knocked out of an RCQ top 8 by lantern. He ended up 4th. Deck seems really strong!
Nice job making top 8 though! Lantern can certainly steal some games.

It’s cheaper to join, so I can play more games :)

Great stuff, love the lantern content. Curious, at 19:17 couldn't the opponent attack with a 0/1 spawn then kessig wolf run it to kill you?
Thank you! And yes.. fortunately they didn't see the line because I had no out to it other than needling it 😅
I got cursed at and one table almost flipped with Mox Opal lantern 😢 i may have to rebuild it now 😂 people like me too much.

The madman
You know it!
Try using multiple abilities if they ate two
Hi! Not sure what you’re referring to in the video 😅 but appreciate the suggestion!
I think GB is just better, you get too run a fetch mana base for one, which is now becoming stock

26:30 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Just readjusting, NBD 😂
Do you lose if they don’t have pronouns
I don’t understand the question 😅
