  • When Alexander the great began his conquests in the east, he took many scholars with him. One of the scholars who followed Alexander the Great on his expedition was Pyrrho. In India, he was impressed by the ascetics who maintained inner peace in the midst of physical pain. Through them, Pyrrho learned about abstinence and the life of sages. After that, he began contemplating a question: “How could one keep his inner peace in the midst of a chaotic situation?”
There is an interesting story related to this. One day, Pyrrho met a storm when he was on a boat. The storm was so strong that it seemed like the boat was ready to sink anytime. Everyone was trembling and crying out in fear. But there was something queitly dining in the corner. Who was it? It was a little pig feeding. Then Pyrrho said, “A wise man should be tranquil in any situation like this pig.”
Like this, Pyrrho searched for a way to maintain inner peace - tranquility. Then what is the way to do that? That is the story for today.
