It's time to stop giving a damn about the backlash I'll inevidently get from the fandoms: problems I have with is back, and I'm taking on the trio of try hards known as Chase Atlantic.
Money, underage fan allegations, drugs, bad attitudes, & more...oh my! Thanks for watching/liking, just my opinion I wanted to get off my chest.

They’re actually pretty humble people and such sweethearts. There’s been a lot of misinformation about them spread around and it breaks my heart cause none of it was actually true. If you don’t like their music, that’s completely fine. Just don’t believe all the nonsense you hear, people will say anything.

And going into what he was saying about them talking about taking drugs; Mitchel even said himself that they don’t take half as many as the amount of drugs they sing about. It’s all word play.

Personally, I'm a fan of them. I love their music and all that, so I'm obviously biased. They've said before they don't actually do drugs an stuff like that, it's just for the music. I don't think their lyrics project how they are as people, and Mitchel (after he got a girlfriend) wouldn't let women even touch him at all for a music video. I obviously don't know anything about that stuff with Clinton, and if he's done the stuff you said, I won't support him. I've never had interaction with them either, so I don't know about things concerning that either. From what i know, their lyrics are just for the music and not who they really are. All three members often post things on their story supporting equal rights for women, poc, etc. (especially Christian). Sorry this comment is all over the place and if you have any questions or need to correct me in any way, I'm open to it. Also sorry I'm biased lol.

I can see exactly where you’re coming from but my perception of Chase is entirely different from yours. I see them as starving artists who blow their money on designer to fit a specific image and use drugs to cope with their world views and fuel their creativity rather than privileged rich kids just out to live luxuriously. I mean it’s written all in their lyrics if you pay attention. No Rainbows is a really good example of this, they write “we don’t like to make the right decisions, clearly we enable our addictions”, “we don’t live the life that we say we do in our pictures” and “blow (money) on designer... fall right into debt, make a death wish”. I feel like you’ve focused on the more upbeat popular less personal songs like Out the Roof, Too Late, Swim, etc that were really made just to fit the image of rockstars-who-do-drugs-and-f-bitches. But just because the lyrics don’t really hit you doesn’t mean they don’t hit and doesn’t mean the band is generic. I personally am obsessed with their production and haven’t heard anything else like it, I think it’s art and what makes them unique and deserving of their fame. I also personally connect to some of their lyrics very deeply, even songs you might consider douchey like Into It or The Walls, and that’s just because they speak to my experience and likely not to yours. Overall, the way their music sounds and makes me feel is the reason I am a fan of the band and that’s the whole point of being an artist right?

i personally would've agreed with you about 5-6 months ago because that's what you can assume of them just by listening to their music. However, now that I know more about them as ppl and not just their music, Ive actually started to like them more, they interact with fans more than any other "celebrity or group" the same size as them. They do a lot for their supporters and obviously, they're going to do things for money, this is their job when you get an opportunity to make money you're going to take it.

as someone who's a relatively big fan of Chase Atlantic (mainly their older stuff like their three part EP and their self-titled album and stuff like that) watching this video really made my heart sink. it's really disappointing to support and love a band or artist for so long, only to find out that the members aren't very good people and that they have a dark side to them. ill still continue to listen to their music because i like it's sound and vibe, but i really hope someday that Mitchel and Clinton will step forward and take responsibility for their actions, especially Clinton. it's sad that the fame washed them up and made them think that they have more power than they really do.

90% of the fandom (speaking about the brazilian one because it's the one im apart and the one im familiar with) doesn't like that kind of behavior and we tried to hold them accountable, specially clinton, but it didn't work...

Personally I don’t get that vibe from Christian (that he’s “privileged”) Ik he supports “ideal” things he’s good to his fans and pays them attention and shows off their fan art and even when he sings you can just feel it that it’s a genuine passion that’s at least the vibe I get from Christian and even Mitchel especially at lives for him it’s harder to tell for Clinton tho but that’s just my opinion

I agree with a lot of what you said, even though I frequently listen to their music because I like how it sounds. The lyrics are not great and it seems their attempts to be relatable are shallow, but I did appreciate the fact that when I saw them live in LA they actually pulled out a rainbow flag during one of their songs and I felt like it was a nice gesture of support even if it wasn’t much.
Hmm, you see I can see why that seems good to you as a fan, BUT, they've been under fire a few times for related sensitive topics IE when they only announced they'd be donating proceeds of their online concert to BLM *after* fans pressured them to do that. I don't know their hearts, but sadly a lot of celebs used things like pride & BLM to gain brownie points among a more diverse group of people, even if that's not how they truly feel. Just my two cents but thanks for watching!

I went to a gig a few years ago and they were opening. I saw one of the guys standing by the bar and recognized him so I went over to say hi. I was just trying to make conversation with him but he was super dismissive, telling me he won't take a picture until after the show but I never even asked. I was just being friendly, didn't even mention their music. That was before they had much of a fan base so I can't imagine what this fame is doing to their heads now

damn that's cold...I went to a small gig 2 years ago and I have to say eve though they sounded alright something was off. o don't know if they were doped up or what (probably) but there was no connection with the audience whatsoever the vibe was just off and the audience didn't get hyped at all and they didn't even try to hype us up lol it was actually a little depressing lol

I think you need to chill and give them a chance .There honestly so amazing because other rappers rap about the things you have mentioned and I don’t see you talking sh*t about them. I can see where you come from and understand your option but it would be better for you to keep your mouth shut, if you don’t like them, cool. There’s nothing wrong with them nor any other artists, there only human!

I actually enjoy a lot of their music and would consider myself a fan but I can see your point. They’re definitely not groundbreaking in any way, they also don’t need to be but how they handle the success (especially Clinton) has really effected the way I see them in the big picture. The whole do drugs do crimes thing isn’t that much of a big deal for me (maybe cause it’s pretty normalized in today’s music) and I also think a lot of the drug talk actually comes from mitchel’s addiction (for example ozone) but the immaturity really changed my way of seeing them as a band.

personally, i think it was the way the cave brothers were raised. not pointing any fingers but, both of them are very fucked up and if you think about it, christian has not once made a mistake and had to apologise for it on live or whatever. i have my own personal experience with meeting them, and they all seemed like lovely, genuine people. such a shame that they couldn't keep that attitude. i feel like what they did was very wrong, especially with using a variety of sensitive topics, like using blm & lgbtqa+ community for a better reputation, etc. mitchel has apologised and so has clinton, we just have to see if they've actually learned from their mistakes, or if they shall continue to be dismissive towards their past behaviour and attitudes. i follow the band, as i like their music taste and i enjoy listening to their music, but currently i am unable to foresee if in the future i shall support them as individuals and people in general.

I didnt care about their lyrics at all because at the end of the day they're lyrics and they weren't slurs or anything but after listening to this and seeing those interactions with their fans I'm really hoping that there's some explanation for all of this and if it's true I hope they take responsibility for it because it's not okay.

ive always liked their music, but the gamification of “pulling bitches” in their music was always something that irked me. my favourite song of theirs is slow down, which is a song about a one-night stand, and that song is written in a completely normal, non-degrading way. but then you listen to some of their other sexual songs, and the way they make a sport out of sleeping with girls, and almost treat the women in their songs like trophies is very off-putting to say the least. writing sexual songs isnt a problem at all, its the way in which you go about it that matters to me. but i always sort if ignored it. but after seeing the allegations about clinton, it kinda disturbs me that they have lyrics like this, now that these allegations have come to light. idk man its impossible to defend them as people, so i find im not overlooking their questionable lyrics anymore
As a fan of I'd like to say that their music just smoothes out the vibes but knowing that they could behave that way broke my heart..

okay, i used to be a MASSIVE fan of chase atlantic. like i've seen them twice, met them once and have signed merch and shit. their new shit isn't good tho. it doesn't have the same feel as the band i saw in 2017 and they honestly seem like dickheads now. looking back on it now, i'm getting the feeling they were only nice to me because my dad was there and bought me a ton of shit at warped tour... what a shame

i am definitely a huge fan of theirs and their music aesthetic definitely draws me in especially everything about their music like melodies and instruments you definitely brought light on topics i wish i could ignore bc i love them so much but i did see truth in your words i sadly wish was false. Hopefully they address some of this, and for the next album, they go back to their roots and not try to be something their not
Hey, I really love this series and I think you give a lot of great well thought out criticism to the bands you talk about. But in the future I think you could improve these types of videos by making them a bit more structured. For example, Chase Atlantic are misogynistic to women in their songs. You could find specific lyrics that prove your point. I think this would make your arguments a lot better. Also you could make these types of videos more structured by formatting the video less like a rant and pausing in between subjects.
I appreciate the feedback. I agree with you on the lyrics, I'll be sure to show those next time (I guess I just tend to think like "oh they've heard the song" but I forget some people haven't.)
I personally plan to keep the more free flowing format as it makes it more natural, even though I have experimented with scripting them in the past...I just prefer the bullet point nature, but I appreciate the criticism!
I unfortunately used to be an avid fan of theirs, I mean I spent hundreds of $$$ & years supporting them all for it to go down the drain with the open racism & ableism, not to mention the accusations against one of the band members for sending explicit photos to minors. In my opinion they are very toxic, but what's really malicious is their fanbase... its quite hilarious that they see all the proof, and still turn a blind eye. It's sad that I once considered myself a part of that.

I’m not really sure how to feel. There’s music out there with lyrics that say the same thing and yet nobody calls that out. I don’t think it’s their intention to drill that stuff into their listeners ears. I don’t think it’s the intention of any rapper or music artist who sings about heavy drugs or sex to brainwash their listeners. There’s plenty of people who are conveying the same message, some with even worse lyrics.
Out the roof is definitely at the bottom of my list. I remember telling my boyfriend at the time how excited I was for the song to be released, only to be disappointed. The music video for it really sucked. I feel like they need a glow up with their music videos. The video for Heaven and Back is a masterpiece. It tells a story but with Out the Roof and their recent release, Slide, it’s just an epileptic seizure in your phone screen. There’s no story behind it. Just 3 guys with flashing lights and fire guns. I told him that it felt very “ninth grade SoundCloud rapper”- like.
Christian hasn’t done anything wrong. The fame definitely got to Clinton and Mitchel the most. I’m going to continue to support them because they’ve gotten me through so much. I recently attended one of their concert livestreams and it was the best experience I’ve had with them. They were really bubbly and stuff in the concert. It wasn’t pre-recorded or anything I believe. I felt like I saw who Mitchel really is deep down. Clinton didn’t say much. It was mostly Christian and Mitch.
I hope the Cave brothers address what’s been done and said. Also I hope whoever’s reading this, if you’re a chase atlantic fan, that you enjoy their new album coming out!! Beauty and death 💗
Normalizing stuff like that isn’t exactly rare in the music industry, if I stopped listening to every artist because of some drugs or controversy I wouldn’t be able to anyone. I actually just like their music, personally I don’t give a shit about their lives.

I embarrassing only found and liked them when I was going through some drug abuse and other emotional issues in 2018 bc the drug abuse “vibe” they try and push was “relatable” to a delusional me but looking back that’s not rlly a vibe to be pushed, it’s different if you’re talking about personal issues in relation to that but something abt Chase Atlantic’s way of doing it feels insincere and slimy. I haven’t listened since the abuse allegations came out in particular but I forgot abt them mid 2019 anyways eh.
i like a few songs of theirs but i thank you for talking about the objectification of women i’m a young girl and men rarely speak up for us!

Such a great video. This is coming from a fan that has had wonderful personal interactions with them in the past. After their self titled album popped off it kind of went downhill for them especially with their music.They basically sound like any soundcloud rapper and thats so upsetting. I think the Cave brothers are truly the problem with this band. They had something wonderful going for them at one point but they got too caught up with trying to sound likeable and "mainstream" that they sound unoriginal now.

I love the production in songs like “Swim” & “Into It”, so i recently checked out their entire catalog. Yea i saw them sounding alot like Lil Pump in one song and then the other like The 1975. It was super weird lmao but they have an amazing vibe if you pick and choose the good songs and filter out the filler. I am also someone thats able to separate the art from the artists.

Sounds like their fans are are probably young teenage girls who are willing to accept whatever they say or do for a bit of clout or recognition on Twitter from them. Basically they’re the soundcloud rappers of the “pop punk??” scene. If they weren’t white, I promise you they’d be out here trying to be the next Migos, and I think that says enough.
