ANC and DA at loggerheads

- In a war of letters this week, the African National Congress and the Democratic Alliance don’t seem to be finding their balance under the Government of National Unity. Following the acknowledgment of 9 other parties who have signed the statement of intent, in a leaked letter, the DA made several demands for specific cabinet positions to be enlisted to its party members. Ramaphosa soon thereafter penned a scathing letter to DA leader John Steenhuisen, denouncing the party’s method of communication on the negotiations.

Very unbiased indeed

We have spent millions on the Zondo commission. ANC is afraid that the Zondo commission will now actually pay the people of South Africa back with some real prosecutions.
Yes this women is speaking facts!! Who is qualified for the Job not political affiliation
The ANC couldn't do nothing for 30 years in every positions .what positions can they posable run better then the DA
This delaying is leading to what is happening in Kenya ×10 when it come to South Africans demonstrations
I wish
Come now cry babies get the minister of police so long our people are dying in Cape Town
Good point minister of Police doesn't suit DA for the same reason you have allude, thanks for opening our eyes since we are not in western cape
It took this lady plenty of years and plenty of money to figure out what I have known to exist in common sense and I don't have to have a gig degree to prove myself so i can be on TV. The politicians don't have a clue on what the counties people actually want , we are sick and tired of their games .
That is why we need to get rid of political parties in elections and parliament.
The people do not know or want left, right, liberal, they want to live their lives freely.
Direct elections, communities and the country electing their representatives in a constituency democracy, representatives who will be accountable to their constituencies not political party.
Direct democracy!
@@mthokozisilanga4497The present education system has become a way of excluding people and it is similar to the old system that was in england during their time when the elite ran everything and those that were workers were their slaves . Today we have moved to a system where only those with degrees are being employed while others are excluded even though there are many amongst the workers have either better skills in doing the jobs and those that have the degree for a particular job only have the piece of paper without a knowledge of the field that they will be running .
@@ArthurMeyerdirect
I agree with you. One problem is the vast number of unemployed people applying for relatively few jobs. When an employer advertises for an available position he gets hundreds of applications. It’s time consuming to read through each one. It’s quick and easy to weed out those without degrees. Unfortunately, that’s often the first step in the elimination process. I was interested to read about Elon Musk’s interview process. He places relatively little emphasis on university degrees. How one deals with real life problems is much more relevant than a university degree.
@@mthokozisilanga4497
We currently have proportional representation which I think is the fairest way to vote. We now have a system, introduced this year, that enables independents to stand for election. So if you want to vote for a person rather than a political party, you have that choice. I think you’ll find though, that most people would rather vote for a particular political party whose ideals align with their own. If that candidate then leaves the party it doesn’t matter, you voted for the party and not the person.
@@mthokozisilanga4497
I would agree with you that at municipal level it makes sense to vote for a person rather than a political party. In this case the person needs to live in the area and be personally involved and answerable to the community he or she serves.
Jokingly, not many of our politicians have much experience of negotiating outcomes!😅
South africa needs to export itself out of trouble, that is why the DA wants the Minister of trade and industy, look if you love 40%, 50% unemployment, do continue.... eskom wants a 40% increase, trouble lies ahead....
Your party would bring even more suffering. The private sector is worse at human rights than any government.
@@shafiyaalgiquadra1105are honestly suggest that we must remain stucked with the genuinely corrupt ANC?
@@MzamoAdoons372 no, but I AM suggesting that the current deplorable and corrupt to the core ANC is better than a government that intends to impose disfunction in what is supposed to be a human right ie healthcare so that they can do business. Shortchange the police so ADT or Chubb thrive, if you can pay.
@@MzamoAdoons372 better that than the DA that is for certain.
@shafiyaalgiquadra I really don't understand how you reached that conclusion.
Private sector pays a MINIMUM wage of R28/hour and government pays R370/ month. Government of the ANC spending is out of control, infective, and wasteful. Government of the ANC is over staffed, generally incompetent, yet private sector is chomping at the bit to get the economy going and the only component that can provide tangibly change in the lives of the people of SA. Government can't function without the private sector however the private sector has functioned without a government.
What kind of International Relations will RSA have with the DA incharge of this ministry, will it work with BRICS, will it push the Palestinian issue, or will it support Ukraine? This is confusing.
Yesterday’s news today???
ANC must realise that they are a 40% party and must accept their fair proportion of ministries.
Same for the DA as they only have 21% of the votes. They can demand 12 portfolios. There are 10 parties in the GNU.
@@jessrealfortune6648
Okay, so you’re wanting all 10 parties to have at least 1 cabinet minister?
Would then look like this:
ANC = 14
DA = 7
IFP = 2
That’s 23 out of 30 portfolios. The 7 smaller parties would then get 1 portfolio each.
That would be the most inclusive solution.
This is what you call.umrabaraba give me.that I'll give you this.ixesha alimanga limkile
The DA should actually be demanding half of the posts the ANC will have

ANC have not yet waken up to realize they lost elections

Actually, the DA must get half of the posts the ANC will be getting. DA is not asking for charity: this is about power and politics is about power

They need to win elections first. The ANC won the Elections.
The DA is only entitled to 6 ministry portfolios and half or VP if they don't like it the ANC can give it to others like and EEF. The DA has done nothing for the poor in the Western Cape. Segregation is the order of the day.
One must file divorce papers 😂

No one in the anc or any other party is qualified for any of our ministries. Only the DA has qualified people.
