- Okay, this was painful! My Deity Work for Beginners video has always been the one video that does best on my channel. After two years since I uploaded it I decided to revisit it and see whether I still agree with my views back then. And let's say... ouch.

Would love to see an updated video on how you are practicing Deity Work now. And don’t beat yourself up for pronunciation issues two years ago, Clair and Clear… basically you cut to the meaning of the wording. As a non native English speaker you do a wonderful job, even two years ago.
I never really bought into that whole "avoid trickster spirits" thing. The more I develop my animistic worldview, the more I stop projecting the binary good vs bad way of thinking into entities and spirits. Also I imagine trying to ask Loki for that "perfect love and perfect trust" feeling and him just laughing at my face lmao

I don't think it's as cringe as you think it is. You grew with your practice! I like this new trend of revisiting old videos and topics, it's so helpful to see that growth is normal, and the "truth" isn't reached in the afternoon it takes to fill out a BOS page on a topic.
On the protection topic, I feel like deities and spirits will only really change their shape if it benefits them specifically. Causing harm just for harm's sake is something Christian demons do and isn't a thing pagans really need to worry about (I dunno about anyone else but I don't even really think *truly* malicious spirits even really exist...). I have experienced deities disguising themselves a handful of times, and often it is either them being playful (when I used to work with Pan he was always michivious), or they are trying to get something from you/whomever they are presenting themselves to. Odin for example changes forms in the eddas all the time, as does Loki
I try to only take the messages I get from directly reaching out so that I don't fall into OCD patterns of obsession! highly recommend if those sorts of things make you anxious
I started practicing 5 months ago, I did have an experience - that I’ll keep to myself - with a deity a month in. That deity has never reached out to me since. 🤷🏼♀️ since then I’ve had 3 more deities reach out to me. I’m still not sure the “clair-“ I am, but for me it’s a short bit that pops in my head, like when you get an ad you can skip 3 seconds in. It’s super detailed with sounds and sights. After meditating on that bit while burning some incense I feel fits the deity I can get a fully realized scene. I usually use a pendulum to double check afterwards. Give an offering. Journal, sleep.
Throughout the day, I’ll “feel” those deities with me, I get a warm campfire feeling with one, a sunny day feeling with another, and cool static (sitting I front of a fan with an old tv on static)
I’ve never felt the need to vet them personally since at different times they will all be in agreement about what I need to do next in my studies or life. I think if one didn’t have my best interest at heart, they wouldn’t agree with the other 2. Also, I’m a noob, they know that, so how the hell would I know what info to vet them with, but as of yet, they haven’t asked or pushed for me to do something I don’t also think is a good idea. So, for example, it could be Loki acting as Odin, and Apollo acting as Aries I honestly don’t care at the moment. I’m happy to have them and they’ve been there for me literally everyday of this path so far.
I'm fairly new still, but I remember watching that first video and being put off from deity worship for a long time. I've returned to heathenry now. From what I can tell, the idea of avoiding trickster deities and malicious spirits sounds a lot like latent christianity. There is, of course, something to be said for avoiding chaos and disruption in certain circumstances, but there are also circumstances where disruption of the status quo is necessary for life to continue. Loved seeing you take a red pen through the things that no longer serve you in your practice.
Personally, I’ve never believed in imposter spirits, only because the people who try to convince you that they’re real often say how you need * said specific items * that you have to buy.
To me it’s always come off as a scam that started from a metaphysical shop/modern media’s interpretation of spiritualism and influenced beginner practitioners into buying meaningless crap to “properly speak” to whatever entity that they’re reaching out to
But that’s just my take on it 🤷♀️
I laughed when you said the only experience you had with a deity pretending was Loki being Odin because I do work with Loki and he did that to me a few weeks ago with me 😂😂 I feel like Odin his looks fave god to pretend to be 😂😂😂
I've read a number of pagan experiences across some of these videos. Are you actually seeing these deities? Or maybe seeing them in your mind's eye? How does this work? Because people speak about them as if they are tangibly interacting and seeing them.

I'm clairvoyant but I too wish I was more clairaudiant 😂I'm working on my psychic senses so I'm trying to strengthen my clair hearing and sure it can be nice to see something and then get confirmation signs about it later, but it's all in images and symbols. It gets frustrating because I'm here like, okay, I saw this owl spirit animal and it's obviously following me around in my meditations, dreams and even real life occurrences but then what do I do about this? It must be so darn awesome to be able to talk to and HEAR your guides whenever. At least then you can be told what the message is instead of feeling so confused all the time haha 😭 I so feel you on that point
If you want to develop your psychic senses, the key is vaccuous meditation, (emptying the mind). Get the book Liber null and psychonaut, by Peter J Carroll. It shows advanced methods of shamanistic training, that cannot be found anywhere else in any other book out there. Chaos magic is essentially Shamanistic magic and liber null has many key methods that can be used for the training of the minds (psychic senses) which can be adapted into Norse magic. Get it and apply the 'mind training' that it contains. After one year of effort, you will be surprised.
while i think worship and work can be present and important in the practice of certain pagans i think people don't talk enough about how those are modern concepts. same thing with deities "leaving" someone and trickster spirits tbh
Yeah that’s very true! Historically one would just give offerings and hope for the best… there were people who had special relationships with just one of the gods or goddesses, but I doubt that they talked to them and prayed to them like we do nowadays
This is the first I have heard of automatic writing. When I was in middle school my friends and I got involved with an entity through a ouija board. We were dumb kids and had no idea what we were doing. We were shocked when odd things started happening. We played with the board together over the course of a few months at our houses. I remember feeling the presence following me to and from school. I would sit in class and let my hand write whatever letters it wanted as I visualized where I felt the entity in the room. It was very odd. I didn't really plan the words but I did seem to recognize what letters were coming next and what words could be forming. sometimes my pen would jerk or feel rigid and what I was expecting would become something else. However, it was very mindless and I felt like I was disassociating (commonly felt that with this presence around) I continued to do this practice of letting the entity write for me and it began to feel like my hand was limp while I was doing it. Its so wild that people are practicing this and have developed a name for it. My older sister thought I was completely batshit or making it up. looking back its even more strange and validating because now I know I have developmental learning disabilities and it takes me A LOT to focus and write coherently. I feel we were channeling something leach like in retrospect and I kicked it out as it got more desperate to rile up myself and my friends and hold onto to our attention.

For me: When i communicate with deites without divination tools, i tend to go into a meditative state with my eyes closed and start seeing like flowing energy and then if i can focus that i start seeing images. Usually i ask questions first. Its something i have been able to do since i was young. Idk what that is but it works for me🤷♀️ i think its some sort of channeling? Idk

I work with a lot more negative energy than I suspect other practitioners do and I can confidently say protection in my practice is very important because they like to leach off you

Have you ever worked with angels? I've practiced witchcraft for a while but I've never worked with anything or anyone and deities kinda intimidate me. fae are out of the question for me as of now, I consider that to be too dangerous and risky so angels piqued my interest but I've been struggling to find resources that give good and actual advice for working with angels, so really if anyone has any tips I'd truly appreciate it

the whole protection and "malicious entity" topic makes me very paranoid about reaching out to deities. As much as I'd love to believe the comments and other pagans saying that there are no malicious entities, I personally had a few experiences with such entities already before even realizing what they were
(This was outside of deity work and just living my everyday life without paganism and witchcraft)

I loved the first video and this one. I will say don’t be too hard on yourself. Your first video was a little on the stiff side yes but it’s still really great. You have to go through the beginning stages to get to where you are now. More fluid, more comfortable. The information remained consistent and reliable and ultimately that is what matters.

How would you go about say thanking and parting ways with a deity you no longer wish to work with?
I'm a portuguese native speaker and the pronunciation for the "ei" part would be the same of how you're speaking now, an "a" sound, instead of "ee"
and I always pronounced it that way, dEity, until I started to search deity work and come in contact of some people and you saying "deeity" then I was like, "oh, so thats the right pronunciation"
and now you're pronouncing it the way I used to lmao
I guess I'll get back to pronounce it with my accent, I like it better anyways

Your pronunciation is spot on Bente!👍🏻🙂 it's "deity" with the "a"-sound, like in "sage" or "lake". Actually, I'm hearing the other kind of pronunciation more and more on youtube now, but as far as I know, in British English you say "deity" with an "a" :-) and this has been so since I can remember. Maybe it's different in the US

Hello! I'm new to witchy stuff as a whole but I'm disabled and my hands shake really bad so I don't work with pendulums. Instead, I use a d4 dice as a quick yes/no form of diviniation
theres like 10000 videos on protection and cleansing. i think its funny cus i feel like people focus so hard on that but all that for what? its a means to allow youself to do more but they dont talk about the more.

Oh my experience is an odd one.
Loki has decided to just... hang around sometimes? I'm not sure what he does with this time. He just vibes. He's like... that one chaotic friend who really cares about you but will not hesitate to pull a prank or two for laughs.
His presence and Odinn's presence feel VASTLY different. Loki's presence when I communicate with him is... heavy-ish but also familiar and comforting, Odinn's presence is H E A V Y. VERY heavy, almost overwhelming.
They have different reasons to hang around, but when Odinn is present, it's because he has something to say/do/whatever. Loki just vibes and loves to chat - a very chatty guy, indeed. One time, he didn't want me to go to sleep because I hadn't talked to him in a while.
Also, Loki just... doesn't like the Aesir or Odinn. I think he feels resentful - for obvious reasons. He said he won't be mad if I talk/deal with them, but he also said he doesn't like any of them, nor does he really trust them for that matter.
I don't know how to feel about this.

You need to put everything on perspective. Are there a lot of pidgeons where you live? Most likely is not a sign but you need to weight the circumstances really. Ravens are related to Odin for example but I live in Scotland and I would be mad thinking that if I see one it’s a sign because they’re literally everywhere.
Depends what deity do you work with? it could just be theres alot of pigeons in your area dont forget that either. But if not it could be a sign from a deity,
