THE SPIDER'S LUNATIC WEBS THO!!!
I’ve quit about 5-6 times.
I have 5 days off of work so I’ll be quitting again (hopefully for good this time).
I always like watching videos like this to encourage me!
I have no idea how you managed to keep this video fun without caffeine
I've been without caffeine for a year and a half bc I learned it triggers my migraines. I was incredibly addicted to it before then so I feel you on the detox stage! It was rough.
Ali, ive been binge watching your vids for 2 days. Thanks for some reality science. -Dino
I had to quit coffee (or at least scale back A LOT) when I had my ulcer. Thr first two weeks was tough due to the withdrawal, but it got easier as time went by.
You have the BEST fitness channel. Thank you for sharing.
Just seeing 185 on the bar is so bittersweet, I just got my squat to 185 and then like a few weeks later was in a car accident where I ended up with a torn meniscus 😭
Oh well, love your videos anyway!!
I stopped caffeine at the end of my studies at university. I used to drink about 5/6 strong coffees per day as I was a social drinker (we spent every break at the coffee machine and I very much liked the taste of it so the stronger the better). I used to think it didn't affect me be I was just desensitized and addicted without even realizing it.
I stopped because I finished my studies (it's been 7 years now) so I naturally had no more habit to take coffee on breaks while talking with my comrades. I actually went on withdraw symptoms for 2 weeks which was hell, I just couldn't stay awake at all (thankfully I was on holiday) and felt really bad.
Now I stick to decaf which used to be once per day (sometimes less) around 10am but I don't even take that lately as I don't have access to decaf at my knew workplace coffee machine (for 2 years now). I do take a true coffee very rarely when I know I really need the boost that day but I keep clear otherwise (maybe once a month). I don't ever want to become addicted again and want to feel the buzz I do feel clearly now when I take a coffee.
That's why I believe one week might not have been long enough for you to really assess the effect of going caffeinefree.
Absolutely loved this video. You are so bubbly. It’s ridiculous. I think that’s what made the video so amazing. You’re very articulate and just I feel, you were easy to connect with as a viewer. I do plan to quit drinking coffee. I’m just waiting for the time where I am not busy for about 12 days to ensure I can quit. This week I have to help my wife as she takes in the family chariot to be repaired. But I’m hoping I will quit caffeine on Saturday/Sunday. I only have about 300 mg per day. In Canada 300 mg is the most that they recommend. I love caffeine. But I drink it because I feel as if it is a connection to my mother. She would make coffee every morning. So I associate caffeine with memories of childhood and my mom. But I know it definitely increases my anxiety attacks in public. So it’s definitely time to quit. I just want to find a 12 day window where I know. I am not needed as a parent or a worker. Hopefully that’ll be this Thursday. We will see.
This was awesome! I am currently in the middle of a caffeine detox. I was having coffee way too late in the day, it was screwing up my sleep, and messing with my mood. I was really excited to watch this video and see how going cold turkey affected you, I had some headaches and was tired earlier in the day too, but I'm kind of excited because I'm at a place now we're I'm really not sure if I'm going to drink caffeine anymore either. Very exciting and cool video, I really enjoyed it!
Ahhhh good for you!!!
personally currently on day five and don't plan to go back.,. perhaps in special occasions but definitely not every day. max once a week
Caffeine is useful when it is used for a purpose and not simply taken like an addictive behavior would dictate - the want and not a need.
I'm nearly 40 and I've been caffeine free for 5 months. It takes me such a long time to wake up in the morning nowadays. It hasn't gotten better at all. But my sleep is better I think, I don't really know because I haven't woken up feeling fresh since my 20s.
I keep from having caffeine after noon. The one time I had it late in the day I had to pull over after my workout because I thought I was going to be sick. It was the only different thing I had done. Never again!
Great vid! Super interesting.
Ha! I’m watching this after drinking too much coffee. You tube must have known. 😂
"what kind of work am I doing and not realizing that its just this disjointed crazy weirdness?"
cough *THE OUTRAGEOUS CHANNEL *cough
It'd be super entertaining to see you attempt the Uberman sleep schedule.
You could of added carob into your chia seed pudding instead of cocoa which is has fiber, helps with weight loss, reduce blood sugar, insulin levels and cholesterol levels.
Cocoa is nice though because it’s one of the densest plant sources of iron. Why not both!
My mother's obsessed with carob.
If you're trying to cut back on caffeine sure using both cocoa and carob is fine, but if you are avoiding caffeine all together not so much.
Noon is my hard limit and I definitely pay for it if I go over. I just did a week of reduced caffeine and my deep sleep did improve, but I wasn’t doing the good job you are of moderation each day.
It seems to me that another week might have allowed your body to adapt to the new level better and maybe show clearer results… but nah I wouldn’t suffer through that either 😂
omg I literally just did a caffeine detox for 7 days!! best, worst thing ever
Did you do daily water enemas for the caffeine withdrawal symptoms?
Did you do daily water enemas for the caffeine withdrawal symptoms?
Everyone thinks I'm crazy because I can chug coffee or pop before bed and it doesn't affect me at all. I'll still pass right out.
Heck sometimes it even makes me sleepy 😂
Other times it just give me heart palpitations 😂😂 oof
Check out Swiss water decaf, it is 99.7 caffeine free. Costco sells it for $12 for 3 lbs.
In favor of documenting the lack of caffeine (or failure to do so) and/or replacing caffeine with other liquids, activities, etc 🙋🏽♀️
I have pretty much cut out caffeine other than one cup of decaf coffee a couple times a week. I found that it increases my anxiety especially if I have any kind of caffeine a couple days in a row, it is pretty annoying actually. Decaf coffee, decaf tea or herbal, careful with dark chocolate, and absolutely no caffeinated sodas or energy drinks.
150 mg isn’t even one cup of coffee. Every coffee drinker I know drinks multiple cups every day.
I do a caffeine fast 24 hours before I do a total fast. Helps curb the headaches one goes through.
So what happens if I’m more tired via caffeine
Psychoactives alters reality
depending on a phone app to tell you how much of anything you do is already not worth anything.
Your ring tracks sleep?
We want all of the video ideas mentioned!!
the sad part for me is I am not affected by caffeine no matter how strong
love your videos but consider not turning the screen red or blue to show you are angry. it's distracting and takes the focus off you, and you are the video. it would be like throwing a blanket over your head. otherwise love ya keep it up :)
I wonder how much of the joy of drinking coffee is just holding a nice warm cup?
What pre workout do you drink?
Yes, to exogenous ketones, cold showers and bi-phasic sleep!
You could also start drinking tea. Still has some caffeine in it just smaller amounts.
You haven't abused caffeine until you've put a heaping spoonful of coffee crystals in your mouth, shotgunned an entire Mountain Dew, and then driven from Norfolk, VA to Boston, MA in about 2.5 hours (subjective time, of course). The caffeine is awful for you (your stomach will alert you to that) but the accumulated speeding tickets will be worse. 🤪
I just started reducing my caffeine intake by switching to decaf...
My sleep is trash with and without caffeine. I bought a new bed and still doesn't help. Amazingly, one day last week I had over an hour of REM and Deep Sleep. I used a sleeping pill which sadly doesn't always work for me. I only drink one cup of hot chocolate in the morning most days so my caffeine intake is low.
I've had terrible sleep for 20 years-since high school-and am finally discussing it with my doctor.
Grounding might help, helped me, just get a grounding pad, usually advertised to use when sitting at computer but works on bed too. Just make sure it plugged into a grounded outlet.
qtips are used for superficial cleaning... nothing else.
Did I see you cooking on a stove??!
wait, a double shot from starbucks is 60mg? that is a terrible shot weight. i'll bet it tastes watery, sour and really bad. you really need to try an espresso from a better place. and try a restretto shot. it should be much better
Single shot is ~60!
@@FitnessOutrageous wait........a SINGLE espresso shot from them is 60mg of liquid from starbucks? lord lady god vishnu alah odin, anybody that is listening........run away. that is terrible. way over extracted. oh my gosh. ali, you need to find a place that makes espresso with only 15g or 20g of liquid per single shot.
60mg is outrageously too much liquid for a single shot. you need more subs so you can afford an espresso machine at home. ECM classika with df64 grinder.
