      The South Sudanese players are playing on the street. They have zero indoor basketball courts in the country.
      And a foreign team having NBA caliber players doesn't equal to a 1-point game versus the supposedly elite NBA players. Team USA clearly doesn't have the best U.S. NBA players on the roster, or getting minutes.

    '92 was a great team. On top of having 0 competition. In 30 years the world has made huge strides in developing talented players. The point isnt whether or not this team is better than '92. Its the fact that the competition they're facing is so much better. And i do mean MUCH BETTER! We fall in love with the perfect storm of the dream team. Hall of fame roster + a world in its infancy of basketball = pure untouchable dominance. The world is now highly competent in basketball so there are times we will be pushed and may lose. Hall of fame roster or not

    • @lp3860
      @lp3860 3 месяца назад +2

      Zero competition? I can't believe you wrote that. Croatia started Petrovic, Radja and Kukoc. Radja was 20 and 10 guy in his best year in the league, at a time when the PF/C position was at an all time high. I don't think I have to explain Petro and Toni. On top of that every player on that team played on some great Euroleague team.
      Lithuania had Sarunas and Sabonis as their stars. Saying they had "zero competition" is an insult to the way Dream Team played basketball. It was pass pass pass and great defense. Now? They can't handle the rules and they just go 1vs1 all the time.

    • @gtizzle7606
      @gtizzle7606 3 месяца назад

      @@lp3860 yeah that zero competition line was a stretch. roster 1-12 the USA had the best squad, but there was plenty of competition. The best player in the world at that time was Jordan from USA, the best player, heck the best 4 players in the world now aren't even from the USA. But the US still has the best roster 1-12 and if they can gel together should win. Everyone knows you just can't put kats together and think that is all it takes. The World had caught up. I'll take a team that has been together for years over an all star team that has only played together for a few weeks. One bad shooting night and it is 1-2-3 Cancun...

    • @Lloyd00
      @Lloyd00 3 месяца назад

      @lp3860 you give me 1 team with 3 guys and another team with 1 guy. That's the same as zero competition especially when you compare that to where the world is today. Im not insulting the dream team. You're greatly over exaggerating the level of competition. It's an objective fact the world is so far above where they were in '92. Stop being silly

    • @genxcyclist3734
      @genxcyclist3734 3 месяца назад

      @@Lloyd00 don’t make excuses . You’re right the world did improve . Only because of the ass kicking the Dream Team put on the world in 1992 . Now , one could say that USA basketball in general has not improved and has gone other way . Lack of fundamental play and lack of defensive play is an issue . You also have players that are pretty much un coach able . So no . They don’t get a pass .

    • @Lloyd00
      @Lloyd00 3 месяца назад

      @@genxcyclist3734 Why do you think i'm giving them a pass? Yes the dream team stomped everyone, which directly led to rise in basketball around the world. I'm stating the fact that the world is so much better than they were in '92. So all the criticisms you have I'm not arguing with. You confuse fact for excuses. US can't get away with just showing up and playing as individuals. I never said its ok if they lose. I explained how things have changed. Do i think '92 team wins gold today? absolutely. do i think they wax everybody like they did? absolutely not. saying that has nothing to do with my confidence in them as a team nor is it disrespectful. '08 had to deal with spain.
