- Here we are exploring the Jacksonville Florida area. We do a travel guide from across the downtown Jacksonville area and then head over to Jacksonville Beach where we check out the beach scene. I would say Downtown Jacksonville is more of the business environment and the Jacksonville Beach area is more for tourist.

I'm a native of southeastern Georgia, and I've always felt Jacksonville has such a strange vibe to it because it feels in-between so many different types of locales. Jacksonville doesn't feel like a true southern city, but it doesn't have that full Florida city feel either. It also feels in-between a business city like Atlanta and a beach city for tourists.
I think I found my perfect place
Yeah I agree. It doesn’t have a southern feel. People don’t speak. They aren’t as friendly. That southern hospitality ended in GA 😂. Most people here came from somewhere else. I rarely meet people born and raised here. That’s so weird.
@@celestebennett1525 .....im relocating here soon!!! Its big & lots to do outside plus beaches and rivers....lemme take you out once we're kn Jacksonville lol 😘
Nyc is bettterrrr👍👍👍👍
Which is probably why it's now growing faster than Orlando and Tampa. And they are growing fast.
Love the palm trees.
lovely pine trees
I love that JAX is in the Southern pines belt AND it’s warm enough for 🌴 too
I love Jacksonville, Florida❤ I have lived here for 5 years and Jacksonville keeps getting better and better. After living in multiple areas in Jax I have figured it out. Like most large cities there are good areas and bad areas. Jax is a huge massive city land wise. I would say 40% of Jax is low income high, crime, and neglected "Bad" areas. These are near downtown on the Westside, Downtown on the eastside north of stadium, alot of east arlington, near St Nicholas... These areas are lower income or economically disadvantaged. Generally speaking the majority of the entire west side of jacksonville is lower income or lower middle class. Where is the best places to live then? If your family is making near or over 6 figures you would enjoy buying in a middle to upper middle class area you should consider Bartram, Communities in St Johns County, Mandarin, The Beaches Jax Beach, Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach, Ponte vedra Beach, Generally anything East of 295 beltway toward the beach.
Jacksonville is not a good place to live, I was born & raised in Jacksonville and I left in 2016. Despite the growth it is a city filled with drugs, crime, murders, violence, etc., and you don't know the city well enough to offer advice.
@@richardfloridaman I think you’re wrong, I love living here!
@@tryjesus2101 Okay, I am sorry. I apologize. I hope you have a good time and good things continue to happen for you. I shouldn't have been so rude.

@@djrich1224 job relocation and I was in Jax this past Wednesday-Saturday. I was happy with what I saw.

@@pluggem924 No place is perfect, but as long as it feels like home, and has a great living stability for any individual, then that is all that matters.
Buen video 👍👍😄
It such a huge town, it can easily encompass 5 or 6 cities within its boundaries, and that can get the stats all skewed up. Otherwise, it's really quite a lovely place to live. At least, for me.
As you work your way back up the USA, can you do a video on pittsburgh?
You should do a video of São paulo Brazil, the bigest city in the western hemisphere
Florida is a wonderful state run by a man with stones! I need to go there soon! Thanks for the tour!
That man is also from Jacksonville, FL.
Being from Minnesota , my first time visiting felt like Jurassic Park.
Jacksonville is similar to Brisbane City, Australia. Brisbane City Council is Australia's largest consolidated metropolitan city in terms of area and population (1.25million live within BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL area), Brisbane City Council is the only council with a population of 1 million or more. Oh and Brisbane is situated on a river too 😊.
Moving there next year leaving Miami
Nah chill bro mamacitas you know what I'm saying?
Restaurant recommendations for this beach spot?
Hallandale beach Florida is more appealing beautiful city good beaches and restaurants growing businesses and communities and good nightlife.

Hey All, how would you contrast the humidity level to other parts of Florida? Winter months? Great beach town, with not too oppressive humidity, and ethnic diversity of women would be fantastic. Thanks in advance!
Creepy, just creepy, ethnic diversity of women? Dude, go get an HIV test. And Jacksonville, Florida is the same humidity as anywhere else in Florida. Dufus.

Goings south to the Caribbean this time but will do that one soon! One day

You eat well. Your food always looks great. Myrtle beach has a lot of buffets with all you can eat snow crab legs. That's where I go now.

Biggest city in land mass than any other city spread out
I always thought that Miami was more populated than Jacksonville.
The population in Jacksonville is double that of Miami, according to a new On Numbers study. While Miami-Dade County ranks as the Sunshine State's largest county, the estimated 408,568 people who call the county's largest city home falls far behind Jacksonville's estimated population of 839,168 as of April 1.
Jacksonville is a bigger city so it has more people, Miami, FL is smaller and overcrowded with people lol. Jacksonville is the largest city in the continental United States by land area.
The City of Jacksonville ranks as the 14th largest city in the United States in population with more than 800,000 residents. The Jacksonville metropolitan area, which includes three beach cities and Clay, Baker, Nassau and St. Johns counties, has a population of more than 1,000,000 residents.
We're spaced out...different sides of town, you'll need a car to get around

Fun fact I live in Jacksonville
i am thinking about relocating to jacksonville. do you think it is a nice place to live as far as the people and the cost of living.
@@MsTwiththeTea1980 definitely a nice place to live. Beautiful city and very affordable.
The Florida east coast beaches are so much nicer than the west coast, especially Fort Lauderdale.
I don’t think I’d say that, the west coast has some beautiful beaches.
@@kosmaswhite6202 West coast/Gulf coast of Florida has white/sliver sand. However depending on the specific beach it can be too full of shells and harsh on the feet. In other words, barring two or three west coast/gulf coast beaches of Florida many of the west coast beaches are NOT powdery sand but coarse/sharp sand [more like pebbles]. These sure look good from afar - white/silver but may not be as nice to experience walking on. Also many of the beaches on the west coast do NOT have many amenities [bars, restaurants, etc] on the beach. For instance beaches in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Lauderdale-by-the-sea and other beahes on the Atlantic/East coast have so many restaurants right on the beach. This is one big deficiency is I have noticed lacking on the west coast/Gulf coast beahes of Florida. Fort Lauderdale is the best in this regard - you can be seatedin your restaurant in Fort Lauderdale and enjoying the beach as well! But once again, going by the beach itself, west coast of Florida consistently keep ranking as number 1 beach in the US. The compete with Hawaii beaches. Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Sarasota etc etc.
Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada has a big land area as well as a low population density.
I'm pretty sure the river that runs past Nashville runs north too
I know this was released 2 years ago, but what's the cost of living there as far as rent, utilities, food, etc? Thank you!
Definitely cannot drive on jax beach. Just a heads up
I want to move to Florida is it good choice which Florida towns good for a family with children????
Can’t drive on our beaches, have to go to big Talbot or Huguenot park for that
Ride a beach cruiser 🚲

I’m moving from California 😊
Is Jacksonville a good place to settle down as a single 30 year old man?
Been wanting to move to the coast. And Miami and Tampa are too packed for me. Figure jacksonville is a good spot cause it’s still growing.
depends on where u stay
@@HandChoppa definitely,he should be on the lookout all the time lol
Hey
Definitely
No it is not. Florida in general is not a good place to live. After the beaches get boring and the heat takes over you'll change your mind. I'm from Jacksonville, born & raised. Its not a good place. Tampa is cool.
The welcoming sign to Jacksonville should read, “you’re welcome for Lynyrd Skynyrd, sorry about limp bizkit.”
I was stationed here while in the military, yet the summer humidity is horrible. Being from South California Jacksonville struck me as a 'backwater' when considering the limited selection of restaurants and entertainment venues. Very few upscale dining opportunities and bucolic entertainment.
For a little clarification, I don't think you can drive on Jacksonville, unless you're a cop as the cops have been the only people I've seen drive on the beach. With that said, driving is allowed on the beach on Huegonet Park to the north and at the beach in ST. Augustine.
Im from New Zealand and thinking of moving to Jax. Do you guys think Im making the right decision? I and my wife are both ICU nurses , and we have 2 kids. We want to move there as it is where my wife's aunt lives. We are aiming to earn more money and live in a place that is family friendly and safe in raising kids.
Is it a good place to live?
It looks like you need a car to get anywhere 🤔
That's how fl is
heavily car dependent and a LOT of driving. This is why I left Jacksonville, I am from there its not good.
It’s nice and I like it but not in comparison with Tampa
No, you can’t drive on Jax Beach. Only place here in the city where you can do that is Huguenot Park
Actually your wrong about the river check out the info on the licking river, it runs north into the Ohio river
Are there gators in that river?
You act like you've had fried gator b'fo

Yep, not a fan of Jacksonville! I've been there 3 times years ago and still there's way better places in Florida than Jacksonville like : Destin/Ft Walton Beach, Sarasota, Cape Coral, Naples, Key Largo, Key West, Marathon, Orlando, Boca Raton, Tampa, Clearwater, Springhill, Kissimmee, DeLand, Altamonte Springs, Winter Park, South Beach, Sebastian, even Ocala/Silver Springs area, New Smyrna Beach, St Augustine, but as far as I'm concerned Daytona and Jacksonville aren't a good place, I grew up in Central Florida myself! It's just different! My mom lives in the Landings area year's ago! To each his own though! I haven't gotten to the other States either! There's only 5 States I haven't seen and been to : North Dakota, Michigan, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and really it's not for me either!
Spring Hill is better?
The best thing I did was leave this city nothing real to do but a lot of crazy stuff in the city, am happy living in Hallandale Beach, am close to Hollywood beach, and Miami its way more things to do and works.
@@noturbusiness123 I couldn't agree more with your statement. However, it absolutely *is* the only reason for soulless nihilistic degenerates to go on living. Why? Because since they don't believe in God - and many who claim to prove by their actions that they really don't, and therefore have no objectively grounded reason for existing at all - they feel compelled to fill every waking moment with noise, activity and distractions in order to keep from having to contemplate the existential meaninglessness of their empty, vapid, hedonistic lifestyle.
Dangerous where you are. The Police!
Jacksonville has really improved. It was a real dump in the 1970s.
So true! And there are a lot more projects and plans already in the works.
hey jacob ashbie wats up man this is uncle gene my business is sheepdogs i will be going to jamaica to delvier 2 sheppdog puppies i will be riding the queen mary 2 wish me luck hows sam and your mommy
Where are people I don’t anyone
Busy working or in school, lol
The majority of this video is Jacksonville beach not Jacksonville itself. Can’t help feel this is due to the fact Jacksonville doesn’t have much of an appeal like other places in Florida
Actually it's unfortunate he didn't check out downtown's nearby historic neighborhoods. Riverside-Avondale is right by downtown and is the largest historic district in the US, filled with lots of old houses, shopping, and great restaurants. San Marco which was right nearby where he was showing the Riverwalk is an always in demand neighborhood that has a really nice square, walkable streets, and ton of growth on the way.
You'd be wrong. There's plenty to do in Jax, but the only places he hit on were downtown and the beaches. It's summer, the beaches are going to have more to do. I could see that he drove right through San Marco on his way downtown in the beginning of the video and didn't stop anywhere there which is a shame. Then there's Ortega, Riverside, Avondale, Five points, the Riverwalk, the museum (MOSH), plus all the gorgeous parks.
@@runswithbeer “there plenty of things to do in Jax” Like???
@@phineas6268 I'm sure there's plenty, been here over 20yrs, but the best part of Jax is seeing it in your rear view.
