Great point! This position could be potentially dangerous if the baby's airways are blocked from it's chin touching it's chest. Watch minute 5:40 of this video. We discuss this danger, and ask parents to be aware of it!
The BCIA recommends baby be upright, always "Visible and Kissable". It can be difficult to have baby high enough to kiss in this position. So use caution.
