      The simplest way I can describe it is use the same method as securing a motorcycle helmet. I know that's useless if you've never put one on.

    how are the baby's legs positioned?

    • @TheBabyCubby
      @TheBabyCubby  6 лет назад +3

      We recommend for newborns to do the froggy position seen at 1:33 then once they grow you can have their legs spread apart on each side of your chest. Let us know if you still have questions!

    • @4JessicaAnne7
      @4JessicaAnne7 6 лет назад +2

      Even newborns should be in the M position with knees above bum, as per hip displasia guidelines. Please make this clear to all watching this video, as that feet tucked under the bum isn't good for hips or for positional talipes if present.

    • @TheBabyCubby
      @TheBabyCubby  6 лет назад +7

      Jessica. Yes you are correct. The froggy position is in fact still the M position and recommended for newborns. The babies knees are still above their bum when done correctly.

    Why not start with the sling open?

    When I pull to tighten my rings they move inward, below my chin. Why is this happening? I really want to take my baby outside safely!

    • @TheBabyCubby
      @TheBabyCubby  6 лет назад

      A couple things to check for. Make sure the rings are on your dominate side and that the tails are coming down and not going up? Always bloom your fabric. Start with the rings pretty high so as you tighten they land on your collar bone. And don't feel afraid to readjust if you need seen at 2:00. If you've tried all those things and you're still having some difficulties let us know and we can see if we can further assist you!

      Pull the fabric out, away from your body, instead of down to tighten.

    • @ppjctotoro
      @ppjctotoro 6 лет назад +2

      If you see other videos, very normal for the rings to move downward. Need to support your baby’s weight, lift up a bit as you pull to tighten otherwise their weight drags the rings down and makes it hard for the fabric to move smoothly. If the rings are moving down already sometimes just got to scoot the fabric around your baby’s bottom to feed it toward the rings, so you can move the rings up a bit. Or just start over! Another tip is to make sure your baby is in a good mood when trying ring sling or any carrier for the first time, cranky fussy time is not the ideal t8me to try they may resist and cry a lot! Speaking from experience.

      Thanks for the feedback! It's hard to tell by the video but once he is in the sling, his knees were above his hips and in more of a frog leg position instead of the position she tucked him in right before she put him in the sling. Sorry for any confusion!

      @@TheBabyCubby How do I make sure the baby's legs will be in the correct "frog leg" position once he is in the sling? Will the baby adjust his legs automatically? Or do I need to position/adjust the legs for the baby?

    • @TheBabyCubby
      @TheBabyCubby  4 года назад

      Hey! Thanks for leaving us a comment! This is a great question and threading it is super easy! You will stick the fabric through the back of both rings and then thread it over the top ring and under the bottom ring. If you pause the video at 17 seconds, you will see exactly what I mean by threading over the top ring and under the bottom ring. Please let us know if you have any other questions or need a better explanation!
