VT is good in hordes, since it clears them and gives you a lot of exp. I usually use it in hardmode to grind for cash and exp because of the Boss3 spam.

Its because, the game sees VT as a "human" tower, and humans tower take lot more damage from fire instead of almost no damage to machines towers ex: zed patrol gz
