- Dear Golf is a segment from The Erik Anders Lang Show where Erik asks his guest to write (verbally and on the spot) a letter to golf. Some are love letters, some are statements, some are phrases, some are poems, and some are just one word - but whatever it is, the Dear Golf letter is a unique way to express your relationship or feelings for the game of golf.

As a 54 yr. old on the back 9 of life, this also brought tears to my eyes. I couldn't have expressed my gratitude to the game of golf more eloquently. Carpe Diem, Erik!
Erik, I'm a former scratch golfer who grew up with dreams of competing at this wonderful sport that I never achieved. I stepped away from the game for about 8 years as life just wouldn't give me the time or money to play. I came across your videos about the same time I started getting back into the game (I'm a 2 now). I've been telling my wife about your videos, shown her a few (we want to go see the Lost Course you found so bad), and I always say, "There's a person who is living their best life." There is no one more suited for what you do, you convey a level of joy about the game that's admirable and inspiring. I'm glad to know that you recognize that golf has given you this gift of a great life,. It makes me appreciate your work more. Thanks for this. Keep it up. I have no idea how, but if your travels ever brought you back to Portland, Oregon, I'd go out of my way to meet up and play some golf.

It’s the simple things that get me, when you hit a shot from under a load of trees and for a split second you hold your breathe whilst it flies through the air, wishing for it to miss that single tiny branch. You forget everything, money troubles, problems at work or home, health issues and just having a crappy day. Nothing else matters and there is no other game that can do this time and time again. Thank you golf for being the release from the normality of everyday life, you set us free to believe in the impossible and keep us coming back for more time and time again!
"You gave me joy, and you also gave me pain. But, all the time, it was a fair pain." Now THAT is a golf quote. One of my favorites I've ever heard. This piece is so beautifully written. Thank you, Erik, for sharing this with the world.

I first saw you on Rick Shields channel & have been a huge fan ever since. This video though Erik (we share that name, its my middle name from my grandfather) is on another level, personal to you, but all golfers can relate to it and have their own "Dear Golf" letter deep inside them.
I watch this video every couple of months to remind me to be humble - to remind me that I’m lucky to have found the game of golf and to know that on a deep level, all us golfers are connected by this ‘game’.
Erik, this is the most beautiful and poetic thing I have ever seen or heard about this wonderful game we play. I want to share this with all of my friends who play golf, because most of them don't see the game this way--the way it was meant to be seen, I think.
Still remember myself in my car 16 years ago driving home after my first golf experience, knowing i got a new friend for a lifetime, still today i sometimes dream about it⛳️❤️

Love your work! This video actually changed my live. Got me thinking about my life... quit my job, took 10 weeks off to rest and played golf a lot. Now starting a new job in 2020 and have more time with my wife and boys.... and more time to play golf.

Golf is a constant dance, filled with lots of love and some hate. Always messing with my emotions. The best feeling I get is arriving at the golf course parking lot, always makes me feel young and giddy inside. The possibility’s of the day are endless. Brings me back every time!🏌️♂️

I’m on a bus crying watching this video. I’ve only been playing for 5 months and the game itself can be really frustrating but after watching a lot of your videos Eric. The one that stood the most is when you said it doesn’t matter if I hit a great tee shot or not but I’m gonna keep trying and trying until I finish. That hit me hard cause this game can mentally eat you but you just have to breath and just enjoy the game haha. Thank you Eric for providing us more fuel and motivation to this beautiful game of golf!

Thank you for teaching me I can alway be myself, and I always have people around me that have sculpted me into the man I've become"
