Red Alert 2: [YR] Alert Sun - Mission 1

- This is the 1st mission (The Fridge) of the fan made Campaign by ArgCmdr, Alert Sun. The mission gives you a few units and you need to completely the whole mission with these units along with a few more that you will get. There's a crate at the top right corner which might give you a MCV. Save and repeat until you get one!

I really think you were supposed to capture the conyard and sell it - get another engineer to capture barracks and train one for oil derrick, but I guess the crate mcv works too :D

if you notice, they tried to capture the Conyard, but it wouldnt let them *capture* it, only *repair* it.
I played this mission recently, got an access to idle engineer standing next to Con Yard and the second one came from Repair IFV, which I mindcontrolled using Mastermind. MCV crate? Holy Molly, I have to check the video for more info!

The conyard is an allied building. You can't capture it, only repair.
That's why he could build an ore factory right next to it and why it said "our ally is under attack" when the Tesla coil was destroyed.

@@Vordikk why doesn't he play it on easier difficulty? I played the campaign on normal and the only hard missions I remember from mental omega are the 2 last soviet missions

You missed out on a couple of reinforcements units like a chrono commando and a sniper, you get these by garrisoning some tents tents/houses. I know some are ambush tents which gives this either a sense of fulfillment or disappointment lol.
The proximity sensors will either do nothing, alert enemies or provide you with units upon destroying them.
32:46 bad idea, if you garrison these building you get reinforcements as well. I think it was an optional objective.
Yeah, i was taken off guard that he thought the neutral enemies need to be killed. Game design of red alert shouldve instilled a sense of curiosity first in OP before hostility

I finished this mission earlier by using the GGI to remove the defenses around the nuclear silo then V3 took it out easily. You have to turn the speed fastest as it takes a decade for the GGI to destroy a building.
Loved the gameplay, although you derped twice 😂
1) 7:45 You can see one of the Nuclear Silos there.
2) 30:27 "So where is it?" It was right there! You barely missed selecting it! 🤣
Also, at 4:07, maybe it was mentioned in the briefing?

7:38 I actually kinda like using V3s in missions. They exploit the AI's inability to react to out-of-range enemies nicely, and do nice damage against ships. It's a chore to get the rockets to survive AA, but I just build 3 V3s and align them to overwhelm one AA structure at a time. Also when they become elite, their firepower is insane.

I miss playing this game, usually I choose France, Germany, Great Britain, Libya, and Russia and also I didn't know (is this mod or not) this kind of campaign is included

I wanted to undeploy the Gi's hence I deployed the Desolator!
Since the base belonged to an ally, it didn't cross my mind that it would come under my control.
If the sensors are triggered, massive forces will start coming.

While I don't know the mod maker, etc. my instincts would tell me that if there was a damaged allied base and an engineer, I'd assume that putting the engineer into their Construction Yard would give you control of the base or just the building.
Mostly because that's how the last level of the Allied Campaign worked in Yuri's Revenge.
The playthrough is amazing, bit I'm still hung up on the G.I. promotion at 1:49. How much is a gate even worth?

I remember that in red alert 2.When i was little.If you force an elite telsa trooper to shoot on the ground and if you put a telsa trooper at the place where the elite is shooting the electric will bounce off randomly.If an enemy unit is nearby the electric will bounce to the enemy unit and damage them(similar to a telsa coil but with faster fire rate) idk if they remove this but can you please check it out?
In Martinoz channel it said that if you get your units too close to the sensors, Yuri will send forces, making the mission instant failiure
I think you can use that mastermind to control that eng IFV? Like deal with that pair of mag and mastermind then control it?
that mastermind will save your pain in the ass if you figure it out in the first😂

The mastermind was at the beginning point you simply didnt see it. You almost selected it even. So frustrating to watch. Look at 30:28 left of that bunker
