I was there today. It was a bit cold, the trains got delayed and not enough room to sit on coaches. For the first part of the day the coaches were very cold. The ice made it all look good though and we enjoyed getting there on the old bus.
It was a challenging day for all the volunteers today and I think they did an amazing job to keep things moving. I was there with 2807 and the loco had only been delivered less than 24 hours before its first departure as the weather delayed the transport from.Devon.
Great video came in car went from blinding sun to fog and ice within seconds- Nice atmosphere plenty to see (if you could see haha) same about the cold really got me and the walk from the car to Shacklestone station was dreadful especially while icy but non the less a terrific day of steam!
Great video Henry. I was thinking of coming today, but due to bad connections making it a long journey, and the cold weather, I didn't make it. Good to see what I missed, sat in the warmth!
I think they should be done under the trade description act as there was no way it was the Winter Warmer Gala :) I got to Shackerstone before 9 and it was like its own micro climate having travelled from Nottingham where there was no fog and temperatures above freezing. Almost certainly stood at the side of you for some of your videos.
Lovely video, I do love snowy shots. I had completely forgot the battlefield had a gala on but ig I wouldn’t have attended it due to the lack of funding around the railway compared to the locomotives last time I went. Battlefield sits at a 3/10 on my list.
this is one i missed not advertised on media very much I'm so annoyedhave been here but I'm watched recordings and really scewed up better luck next year
Thank you for watching. They usually do have a Gala at this time of year although I've not been to one of their galas before. I did ready about this one in the Railway Magazine before Christmas.

Thank you! I did wonder if I'd get there with the problems on the WCML but I'm glad I did as it's so rare to see UK steam in sub zero temperatures.
Awesome video. Very wintry feel!
Thank you very much!
Super video! 🙂🙂😃😊😄 May have been a tad cold, but it made for some great atmospheric effects!!
Thank you for watching! It was worth putting up with the cold to see steam in this atmosphere.
What a super video, great atmosphere, terrific sounds !

Excellent..many thanks
You're welcome! Thank you.
Looked like a good event, do they always put on bus services from Nuneaton for galas?
Yes, and a handful of other events too.
The bus is free, but the crew is more than welcoming of donations to help them maintain their buses :)
@ great, thank you for the info.
