  • Normally quite tricky to film, these sand martins (Riparia riparia, also known as Bank swallows) made it a lot easier for me, by hovering in the moderate breeze, next to a metal rod/pipe on which one or two of them also attempted to land. Others seemed to be happy just to hover adjacent to the perching spot.
    Location: RSPB Frampton Marsh (360 hide). Lincolnshire, UK
