Hi, @@Cruise1966. I got an amazing deal on the 77” G1, which was more than half off of the sale price for the G2. I’m blown away by the picture quality so much that I went and bought a new sofa with its ottoman for an enhanced experience.
The user manual says for installation on concrete, "Drill holes in anchor locations with a drill bit of Ø 8 mm to a depth of 80 mm (3.14 inches) to 100 mm (3.93 inches)." And , "Tighten screws for fixing the wall mount to the holes. At this time, tighten the screws to a torque of between 45 kgf/cm (39.06 lbf/in) to 60 kgf/cm (52.08 lbf/in)".
Did you get the correct mounting kit? I can’t find out when I buy a G series I really get the same mounting kit as in the video. I don’t like others because they are not using the special hollowed out part on the top of the tv. So it will be not close to the wall.
Watch out those of you getting the 77 and 83 inch versions - the cable routing is different and doesn’t come out near the power cord. I installed my wall box based on the 65” video like this, and now have more work to do For the larger screens, the cables drop down directly to the bottom edge of the screen- the left side as you watch tv, and the power cord has a channel to get it to that location too
I guess I had it easy, I used the wall bracket and have only one hdmi cable running to the the 77 GP2 via HDMI arc in (my Yamaha Aventage controls audio and video inputs) Both the HDMI cable and the power cord are hidden behind my center Chanel speaker on my TV console so all I see is the LG 4k panel
Thanks for this would be great if LG had some layout diagrams of the back, I have to rethink how I route some wires. I planed based on the on 65inch layout I thought I would have some option due to the space from the center to the left. I will have to wait until it arrives or I will have too many holes to fill.
Thanks! We haven't gotten the TV but preparing for the 77". We are remodeling and the electricians were putting in the recessed box. Would have hated to cut another hole in the wall because of this. In my living room wall is a in-wall cable duct. This is positioned in the center. Of course I would like to use this. Now I see in your video that the 77 inch version of the TV's does not have centered cable channels? These look like they come out on the right side of the unit (looking from the back)? How far can I run the cables to the center of the unit? Is there a dimension/drawing somewhere regarding this? Thanks for an answer.

I'm sure there are leveling screws or something on the mount, but nothing in the box, or in the LG videos mentions them. Off to find more documentation on the LG site...
Instructions are unclear with tiny diagrams. and for all its perceived quality the mount itself is terrible IMO because it doesn't seem to hold the tv firmly.

Huge miss not having a breakout box like Samsung does. I have a Frame TV now and only having that one single (impossibly thin) cable running from the TV, thru the Smurf tube is awesome. Can’t imagine trying to run multiple HDMI cables down like that though. I’ll keep waiting for LG to get that part right before I can jump on the OLED deal. Want to, but that’s a dealbreaker for me.
The Frame TV is cool for its intended use but in terms of picture quality the OLED G2 is a different animal. As for HDMI cables, use an AV receiver. Then only 1 HDMI goes to TV along with power cable. Antenna cable and ethernet are optional. If you're going to spend the $$$ on something like this you should route the cables through the wall anyways.
I got the 77". Beautiful TV. But the way half the power cable has to run up, to the side, and back down the cable channel doesn't make sense. I end up with a couple feet of power cable after that.
Just bought the LG G2 83 inch. I'm in the process of installing it on my den wall, and already a little disapointed. The wall mount is 16 5/8 inches (area to anchor screws) 17 7/8 total length of mount. If you have standard wall studs 16 inches between studs as I do and your studs do not line up in a manner where your tv is going to be in the center, you will have to install it off center. Which really s@$ks for the amount I paid for the TV!! The other issue is that LG recessed the area where the factory bracket goes which is only about 18 1/4 wide. Even if you where to find a bracket that fits the factory recessed location it's still only 18 1/4 long which probably wont help you if your studs aren't placed in a manner that would leave your TV centered. What LG should have done, is have the recessed portion in the back of the tv a bit longer at least 34 inches long, and a bracket to go with it. That would have alleviated any issues of anchoring to any studs no matter if they were not centered for appropriate centered locations. For now I'm going with a ONN bracket(model:100074946) 33.90 long comes with two lugs. I was able to anchor the mount to three studs but I'm a little scared of mounting the tv with only two lugs. I'll be working on a bracket that will work with the factory one. For now, I have a tv that was meant to be flush to the wall hanging on a bracket that sticks out about 17 mm or about 1/2 inch. Updates forthcoming..
Hey, any updates on your mount? We just ordered a 77” G2 and now I’m freaking out because my studs are not perfectly centered on the wall that the TV is gonna be…
Does the included bracket require the TV to go flush against the wall? Due to some logistical issues I need my TV to be a few cm off the wall so I’m trying to figure out whether I’d need to get a 3rd party mount or use the one included with the tv
Use spacers (metal washers) between the mounting bracket and the wall. This should allow you to choose how much of a gap you want by adding more or less spacer/washers to each mounting screw. The problem with opting for a 3rd party mount over LG's included bracket is that they're not designed to allow the TV to sit as flat against the wall as possible.
Will this mount work with wood studs? The manual seems to say it should only be used with concrete walls? If it does work for studs, the screws are in a pattern that seems like it wouldn't hit studs in a normal house. Can someone advise on how to safely install on wood studs?

Yes. Mine is partially extended because the outlet and plug are not flush inside the wall.
Additionally,
I bought a recessed outlet for the tv, but then there's the issue of the power cord and it's length. It's too long so I won't be able to push the tv back to completely flat anyway when the cord is bundled because there's so much of it. Because there's no where to tuck the power cord.
But I'm no installation expert either.
I probably would've been better off with the C3. I love my TV though.
I'll probably get the ½" wooden wall slats mounted behind the tv that will help give it the flush look
@@dernaren I should have mentioned that my TV is mounted to an exterior cement wall, so routing the power wire through the wall is not legally an option either.

Put the mount on the wall
Put the TV on the mount
my handyman couldn't figure this out for over 3 hours . it still doesn't sit flat. what a rip off.
Sounds like you need a new handyman. What was the problem?
From my @LG experience, don’t even bother going trying to mount your tv on the wall. If, like mine it barely lasts 20 months, just cut out the brief ownership and dispose of it responsibly..
what? this makes no sense!
What?
Same, my first one died in 4 months, second one came warped.
You dummies didn’t say what size the drill bit was!
