PHOX toured as Laura Mvula's opening act some years ago, and that's when I first heard them. In Brooklyn. Monica was having a rough night. Her voice was giving out and she was visibly upset, most likely due to strain or a cold. My friend and I enjoyed them enough that we gave them another chance. Listened to their album and saw them in the same venue at their own show some time later! They were so wonderful and since then I've been following Monica's career after PHOX and I'm so happy for her. She's so unique and talented. Her voice has gotten even stronger as well!

I saw her live at the Jason Maraz concert. I would be lying if I said she wasn’t one of if not my favorite part. This song was gorgeous and to me she sounds even better live then in recordings. I’m so glad I found her music!
