I LOVE this video! You have a gift for words, an eye for filming & composition, and you are a skilled fly fisherman. So glad we didn’t lose your talents earlier this year! Thank you for sharing! God Bless!

Andy, Thank you for another beautiful video. You have a special gift to express yourself and show how wonderful fly fishing can sooth our minds and cleanse all of life's challenges and put us in the right frame of mind to tackle things head on. I admire and respect the love and compassion you have for life and the environment, and the way you handled and were humbled by the gorgeous brown trout you were blessed to come in contact with. Your videos and messages truly lift my heart and are inspiring in many ways. Thank you and I wish many years of great health and happiness.

Thank you so, so much for the wonderful video, and the sharing of your knowledge to help fishermen, and myself, to hopefully experience some successful autumn fly fishing. Going to tie some "inchworms" for sure over the next couple of days!

Andy, wonderful video; technical, informative and in your closing comments - near word for word - my exact cognitive presence, when standing alone on any of Central PA’s true natural treasures, at 67 years old.
Tomorrows are never guaranteed, don’t stop moving, pass along your wisdom/knowledge and recognize the rewards that do come our way when standing in such a beautiful stream…few people get this experience.

Thank you for sharing.. I appreciate your giving to others. I'm on my way to Penns to meet my nephew for 3 days of fishing.. I hope my expierence is half as rewarding as your great time on the stream..

Really enjoyed this video, watched a lot of your videos prior to hitting penns for the first time this year and caught a really nice 18in trout.

Kind of an accidental discovery here....Lucky Me🍀
VERY much enjoying your approach how u share and package your experiences on the water.
Perfect example how NOT to b an over hyped, self promoter.
    ThankYouVeryMuch!!

      Bruce,
Welcome. I appreciate your feedback. If you like this video, I have several others you might like as well on my channel. And I will continue to create content that is informative and perhaps worth 20 minutes out of someone’s busy day. That’s all the self promoting I will do!

I appreciate your videos, and will be heading to Penns Creek for the first time in over 20 years beginning of November. Weather is going to be a roller coaster until then. Upper 70’s, few days of rain, and the weather dropping again. Either way I hope to come out with a few!

      Jim,
20 years is a long time! Hope your return to that river is rewarding. Water levels are near perfect right now. I’ve done well the first week of November. Good luck.

Andy, thank you for a great video. Wonderful also a nice wonderful reflective closing 👍.
Can you please recommend an inch worm pattern

    • @apennsylvaniajournalwithan9866
      @apennsylvaniajournalwithan9866  Год назад

      James,
The inchworm pattern I tie is the classic green weenie. So simple to tie.
Hook should be a #12 or #14 streamer hook
      Thread yellow or tan
Weight with medium lead wire or non lead equivalent
Body is Ultra Chenille Medium Fluorescent Green such as Orvis 09P77100
      1 Apply silk to shaft
2 Apply weight back to front
3 Start by forming a small trailing loop at the bend of the hook and tie this down
4 continue to wrap the chenille from back to front
5 complete at the eye of the hook, whip finish and apply head cement
      That’s it!
      Good luck!
      Andy

Another fantastic video, thank you very much! Do you swing soft hackles and wet flies on Penns or other PA streams?
I’m hoping one or both of my children will develop an interest in fly fishing as well.

      Brian,
I certainly use soft hackles and wet flies on Penns Creek. Love them actually, especially when mayfly duns and caddis are emerging. Often fish them in tandem with a dry. Thanks for taking the time to watch that video.

      Geoffrey,
I just use an iPhone 14 Pro. Great video quality and is relatively water resistant. I’ve already had to fish it out of the river, and it kept working! I’m amazed how much we can accomplish with an iPhone.

One critique; The guitar music at the beginning & end of your videos is too loud & jarring to the ear. I recommend turning down the volume of this guitar sound or replace it with something more mellow…Otherwise, this is a perfect video!
