Who are the 10 assholes that would give this video a thumbs down. This gentleman is discussing perhaps the most difficult and personal of experiences of his life, for no other reason than to help others. Thank you, Mr. Barker for sharing your hard earned experiences with us. I do wish you a speedy recovery and I hope that you are feeling healthier now.
I believe they Google search cancer videos and go to town accusing people of faking their illnesses and telling them they should die. I've seen it over and over again. Very sick.
@leftovers THEY would be the (24) repugnant, sad soul suckers that deserve absolutely NO recognition of notice! Although SO tempting to give them the negative attention we want to give them, to THEM, it's better than NO attention. Making remarks is a catalyst
I just wish I had to power to make all these jerks walk a mile in my shoes for only five minutes. I assure you they would be crying like babies and turn into different people in less than one minute. The other four minutes of suffering would simple make them think about their actions. Maybe then they would start showing a little respect for people like me that has had to live with cancer day in and day out for years. I can't even wake up these days without wonder how much more time I have left to either die or possibly something happening to ease the all suffering. But I suppose no one will ever really know how others feel until they suffer with cancer themselves. I wouldn't wish my cancer on my worst enemy.
Jason, You are such a kind hearted person. Having gone through the ordeal you are pre empting others from the avoidable pains. I salute you. Others have a lot to learn from this video. I definitely have. My best wishes to you for cent percent recovery. Thanks, once again.
For anyone showing up here because they have a loved one going through this cancer I'd like to give a few words of THANKS as someone who just finished treatment (35 radiations, 7 chemos) 2 months ago with the help of a devoted loved one. The daily support of a primary loved one is so important when we are going through this experience. It is like swimming through oil just to move from one place to another. The energy is sapped. The thrill of eating is gone. Normal hygiene takes so much more effort than ever before. The will to live is shaky due to pain, nausea, and fatigue. I am so grateful to have had a wonderful support person (my significant other) who didn't push me to do anything, but just kept me moving in the forward direction throughout the therapy phase. Thank you to all the loved one who are making the progress tolerable.
My dad had this cancer, it started with a cough that lasted 2 weeks but wouldn't go away. He is still here after radiation treatments and early intervention. Thanks Jason!
I can't thank you enough for this video. I'm so sorry you had to go through this terrible disease but am grateful for your advice. My brother was just diagnosed with neck and throat cancer, stage 4 and is ready to undergo surgery in a week. If even one of the pieces of advice you shared works, you've done more than you know. I know this was done a few years ago and hope you are cancer free and living a wonderful, full life.
Noslenirol have her find my Facebook group by the same name. Over 1,000 survivors and current patients all helping each other get through these terrible treatments. Thank you for the kind words, yes I’m doing very well.
19 year survivor of the same cancer type, head and neck. Had all the same issues including the destruction of my salivary glands. Had I known of the results years later I would have pulled all my teeth for dentures since the radiation killed all my teeth and it was a terrible process to have them done after radiation. Also affected my vocal chords and epiglottis that after 10 years I am on tube feeding (aspirate when swallowing) and have lost about 80% of my voice (radiation). But it's better to fight and be awnry then to let it win. Exercise your vocal chords and practice swallowing constantly and you will keep it working longer. God Bless and Good Luck
Kim sorry about your teeth issues. I guess I was lucky in that 5 years out my teeth are still perfectly healthy. But maybe because my salivary glands weren't totally destroyed by the radiation? I had horrible dry mouth for several months, but eventually they mostly started working again. I know technology on the targeting of radiation has come a long ways year by year.
Hi Jason. ..I had the exact cancer ..had the same systems and treatment ... I also had surgery to remove the tumour in my neck ..The mouth ulcers were heriffic ....It took me 2 years to fully recover from every thing...that was nearly 5 years ago...I couldn't believe when u said u had the same cancer...I had a bad reaction to plasters too...ur tips are brilliant ..They will help so many people. ..The only thing I can add is this treatment WORKS. ..I have a brilliant life I never even dreamed possible. ..I look normal ad feel good ..I can eat ad drink well...There were days I thought I would never walk again. ..but now I'm running around with my gorgeous new grandson and new dog ...The first thought I had when I got my diagnosis was ..I will never see my grandkids. .which I soon felt guilty about as I met younger cancer sufferers how only had very young children and were worried they may not see their children grow up ..I soon realised I was already lucky ..my daughter was 24 and my son celebrated his 21st birthday when I just finished my treatment. .I spent my 50th birthday in hospital very sick at the end of my treatment. .but Iv made up for it every Birthday since belive me...I am planning my gorgeous grandson Evan's 3rd birthday in a few weeks. ..I call him Evan from heaven.👼 ..I do feel terrible guilt when someone doesn't make it especially young people and children. ..I pray everyday for everyone going through horrible cancer..especially families who have lost loved one's. ...The only thing I can think to do is to live my life smell the roses for those who can't ...be happy with nothing. ..health is your wealth. .Jason I hope u continue to make a fantastic recovery. ..keep helping others ...I wish u a long and happy life full of goods supprises.. .😊👣❤💙💚🍀
@@kevincastillo4734 Kevin how long did they take to diagnose you? What tests were done, and did they first give you a bunch of antibiotics thinking it was just a bacterial infection? thanks..
I’m finished with treatment for tonsil cancer. A major mouth cleanser for me was hot salt water with baking soda. Never had any mouth issues. I have a mouth full of metal. I am so thankful for my change of diet and precautions. My dr told me he has never had anyone take it so well. I wasn’t normal by any means but I am on the right side of the road now. Waiting for my pet scan now. God bless anyone with any cancer
Jason, you are a true hero. I love you dearly and am so happy that you are doing so much better! You look amazing, and I can't say how happy I am to see you still kicking!!!
my sister was only recently diagnosed with stage 4. one cisplatin a week ago. radiation mon-fri. i do whatever i can, but now it seems there is very little i can do. it was comforting to find your video, just to know there are others who understand. i hope you are well.
You don't know how much I needed this video and the others and blog. My husband and I just found out he has throat cancer. So overwhelmed, but staying faithful. You helped me get out of bed today
It takes a pretty incredible person to want to help others, while going through your own battle. God bless you. I hope you are doing amazing and are cancer free.
Yes I am cancer free, thank you. I only wish I'd shot more videos during my treatments, that would've helped even more people. But 5 years ago RUclips wasn't as powerful as it is now so I just didn't think about it, plus it's pretty hard to film yourself when you're in that condition. Thank you for the compliment!
Reading all the comments you can see how much your video has helped people I am early 40s and I have one tonsil that is slightly larger than the other and I've noticed a swollen gland on the same side that feels like it has a hard BB/small pea stuck to it I have a appointment with the doctor in about 5 days and I am going to request a appt with a ENT regardless of what he thinks it might be. your video helped calm my nerves and I appreciate it and you sir thank you.
I went through 7 weeks of radiation and 3 chemo sessions. My advice is to walk as much as you can for as long as you can. Eggs are awesome to keep up the nutrition. As the throat gets more and more burnt from the treatment, just cook them less and less
I'd like to add that eating at a buffet to find what you can eat. I wasted so much money ordering food I thought I could eat and found out I couldn't. A Buffet is the key to eat out.
Thank you Jason Barker. My brother was just diagnosed with throat cancer. We go to UAB in Birmingham Alabama on Monday January 25th. They will do a biopsy and give us that most dreaded news. I wrote down everything you said about what the doctors don't tell you. My brother is typically a private person. But I have done a lot of research on throat cancer and the things he could be facing. I appreciate you and your personal knowledge on your treatment and the fact you care enough to share. God Bless you.
Just wanted to stop by and thank you for posting these videos. I’m about to start neck cancer radiation/chemo therapy. Because of your video, I became aware of the potential interaction with dental crowns. I raised the issue with my Radiation Physician who agree that it would be beneficial to remove a metal crown that is in the area to be irradiated. Just swapped the metal crown for a non-metalic crown yesterday. Thanks again for your efforts to help others! All the best to you and yours!
I'm sorry to hear about everyone being diagnosed with cancers and such. It's truly a horrible thing. I am having trouble swallowing, food gets stuck at the top when i swallow and i usually get it down with a sip of water. It's been a nightmare, i'm steadily losing weight as well. Today i had two small ice creams and a bag of doritos which took me 3 hours to get down piece by piece. I no longer get hungry and that's is complete opposite of the normal me. I always woke up hungry and ready to eat now i just don't feel it, my stomach doesn't even growl. Depression has set in, you don't know what depression is until you lose your ability to swallow and eat normally. It's beyond describing. I'm set to have an EGD done to see if there is anything blocking or a stricture etc. I have smoked cigs in the past so i'm hoping it's not a cancer diagnosis. If it is, i'll be taking Cannabis Oil from Colorado or Seattle. I would never admit myself to chemo or radiation as they are very bad and only good at destroying your healthy cells and immune system etc. I encourage ALL who are diagnosed with ANY cancer, to look up Rick Simpson Oil on youtube and watch videos from REAL people who have beat their cancer with this oil. It's illegal in most states, and there is a reason for it. Legal Cannabis Oil would literally crumble the profit powerhouse of cancer. Not trying to say its your only option, but it should be our first option if possible. Do research and decide. It's the first and last medicine i would ever use for a cancer of any kind. Thank you so much for sharing this, you are a kind soul and i will update on he results of the EGD. Here's to hoping i don't get diagnosed with a throat cancer!
Jason I thank you so very much for this video. The love of my life has to go through this and I am looking into all this to be more than support and help for him. God bless you and so very happy you made it through and I know he will too!!! Stay Blessed 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hi. How did things go for him? I am researching this now for my loved one as well. He is having severe dry mouth and everything tastes terrible…. Any suggestions would be so appreciated ❤
Thank you so much for taking time to do this video. The points that u mentioned will definitely help people. I ll shared this with my contacts. I see that this video was uploaded 6 yrs ago & the latest videos are of 2 yrs back. Plz tell us that u are all fine now & fully recovered. Again thank u & may God bless you. 👍
Wow 😀 Great to hear that ur doing good nw. It's fine if ur busy & im not asking for regular videos like other RUclipsrs do. Becoz content is what matters & in future if u think some info will help people, plz do as it would be a great thing for someone somewhere. God bless you and your family & may this year bring you lots of joy & smiles. 👍
thank you for sharing, Jason. I also had the same cancer on the back of my tongue. 35 radiations and 2 chemos. kicked my ass. I'm 5 months post treatment...and doing well. I can speak well, but there is still a considerable difference in my voice. I am back to public speaking, but cannot sing yet (I am a preacher/song leader for a living).
Mike way to go making it through treatment! Keep your nutrition up and you'll continue to heal. My voice was weak for many months. My singing was always terrible so there was no difference there.
I had felt a lump in my throat for a couple of years, I went to the doctor a bunch of times...finally I started having an ear ache. CAT scan and biopsy confirmed it. I'm over 2 years past treatment and doing well.
@@mikedesena5065 that’s good I’m glad you went thought treatment well!.. I’ve had a node on my neck for 7 years and I’ve gotten it biopsied and a couple of near by nodes as well to make sure of anything and it came out all benign.. but I’ve been recently worrying a lot about it again so I’m seeing doctors again
Thank you Jason. You are a great help to all those going through this cancer. You're the best person to describe & give options of how to deal with certain situations. Thank you so much.💕💖💕💖💕💖💕
Thank you for sharing sir, I have the exact same cancer and I'm getting ready for the same treatment in the same area. I have one more doctors appointment before all my treatments start. I'm a older sixty four year old guy that had all my teeth fillings taken care of years ago. Like you smoking wasn't my issue either, who would have ever guessed throat cancer would be an issue? Everything you've said is all new to me. Thank you again, it really means allot to people like me.
Denzil honestly it's a tough treatment regimen, but myself and thousands of others are proof that the pain is worth the cure. I am 4 years past treatments now and doing awesome with a normal life. Thanks for your reply sir, but if it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any. I had my first Chemo treatment on Aug 7th., I then had a major heart attack that night at 1:00am in the morning on Aug 8th. The only good news is that I'm still alive. I now can't find a doctor that will install the G-tube due to my heart issues. Since then I have passed out and dropped in the floor without warning and hit my head and really tore up my shoulder joint. I swear I now have bruises and horrible pain in places I didn't know I had prior to hitting the floor. Today I can hardly move or do anything due to being so sore. I just want to get on with my cancer treatment and get it over with, but at this point I don't know when or if it's going to get started. I'm also now on blood thinners because of the stints they had to install in heart veins. My cardiologist refuses to take me off the blood thinners and that also means I can't find anyone to install the G-tube for that reason. I swear it seems I'm now left with the choice of either dying with the cancer or the heart issue? Not really, I was told if I stopped the blood thinners I would likely even be at a higher risk to be put under for the surgery. Many are saying the G-tube isn't that big of a deal and probably could be install with a lesser drug than is normally used, but I personally don't know, I just know I'm now stuck at this point without my cancer treatments? I suppose life just sucks at times?

Thank u so very much, my hubby was diagnosed with HPV throat cancer in August 2019 and passed away in slightly less than a year. Fought it like a valient soldier. Hardly ever complained and only cried a couple times. We were together for 15 years. Now its another year and I guess its my turn. it seems so surreal. My ENT doc still hasn't got back to me with my ct scan results and this is
Thank's so much for all your efforts and ideas and making this video. This helps people looking for answers. You'll never know how much you've helped others. I wish all the luck to you.
Very informative. Glad you made it ok. Personnally, I "swish, gargel and swallowed" club soda. It helped with the ph in my mouth and reduced the mouth sores. I could have done it with a mixture of water and baking soda but the club soda was less yucky. A nurse from the cancer center had recommanded it. I used a child tooth brush (Power ranger! chosen by my son!). I also had fluoride trays and did a fluoride application daily. I will require to do this fluoride application for the rest of my life to prevent tooth decay. I also brushed (and still do, 29 months past the end of treatment) withint 30 minutes of eating/drinking anything other than water or club soda.
Great video. Cool, calm and precise delivery of info. Very reassuring tone as well, this is going to help a lot of people, this is what the internet is for. I found this after my event and I just had radio, so I was very lucky, and I had good people in the NHS sort me out. Appreciate it anyway.
Very practical and huge help to patients. Thnk you so much for sharing these learning which nurses or doctors never thought important and useful to patients. Its really vest to hear it fr someone who really went through it. God bless you.
Wonderful advice from a very caring man, thank you! I will be starting my treatments in a week and I'm sure these will help me and make life a little easier. Bless you.

Had the same cancer as you. Some things I discovered that wasn't told but helped was instead of a pick line I had a surgical port put under my skin in my chest. Worked great and non obtrusive. Didn't have filings issues although I have a lot of metal from younger days, although I brushed at least 5 times a day and also used a hydrating mouth wash at least 3 times. Teeth and gums came through perfect. I elected not to have feeding tube and was best decision. Was tough last two weeks after third chemo but made recovery a lot quicker. Wish they stressed more about loosing all my taste for at least 6 months but it is now back. Also wish they said to do stretching exercises with neck and mouth mussels because of the radiation. Also get a second opinion! First DR. wanted to do neck dissection and partial tongue removal. Someone always graduates last in their class. Hope you keep on keepin on. Pat Fitzsimmons
Hi Jason! I’ve just been diagnosed with this. My doctor said it’s treatable though. I’m having a PET scan next week. My cancer is the epiglottis. He told me radiation only. I’m so glad you made this and shared it. I’m scared right now about what to expect.
My cancer was HPV related too, stage 3+ told me 50/50 and sure enough I'm in the other fifty! But it is now two years since the initial diagnosis. I've had 7 chemos and 35 radiations, went a year with no other cells found and then back again. This time in throat, chest nodes and a mass in a lung. I then had five months of two types of chemo involving a chest port. All went well but I did have recurring thrush and still get it. It's still in two spots but it is either stable or has shrunk so now on a chemo break for a few months. I can eat moist mushy foods but must avoid most hot spices. Also I cannot dissolve meats, most breads, pastas, rice or potatoes. I am missing the salivary enzymes unfortunately. So I use a liquid feed made by Nestle which is wonderful and I have a small pump so I can manage it alone just fine. Now two years later, except for limited eating I am doing well. There are some wonderful support groups on Facebook, one being Throat and Oral Cancer. My message is it's not over till it's over and I fully expect to lead an almost normal life for a few years more. BTW I am 75 so it's not such a big deal for me as it would be for someone younger. Good luck and please ask for help if you need it!
The last tip is brilliant. Really its hard to tell the story and history over again. And also, friends who need to know your status particularly on the cancer will just go there and read. At least u dont get things mixed up. And the exchanges only deal about 1 subject. U get direct answers n queries too.
I just had been diagnosed with the same cancer. Though I'm medically inclined, I cant help being scared about the outcome. Hopefully things turn out okay. Thank you for sharing your experience. God bless you.
The doctors gave me "magic mouthwash". It's pink and really helps with the mouth sores. I did not have a problem with fillings. You can win this fight and look back and say, "that is when I had my cancer."
@@gingerhunny YESSSS!! Thank you so much!!! We were just told this morning and I cannot stop crying! She is my everything but I am gathering myself and ready to help her fight! Your reply means so much to me.

Also, ask any questions you may have as you proceed through your regimen and during recovery. It's a long road but it's not insurmountable. Fight!
I have been through the same thing. I had a port and a feeding tube mine came on me at 56 the things I wished they would have told me that the radiation would kill my thyroid, taste buds, loss of smell ,it got my pituitary gland and my thalassemia. Good luck I'm 6yrs cancer free I went through it by myself could of used some help but my blood family turned their backs on me and one sister is a nurse practitioner and the other sister an RN but they were to busy getting pedicures and abusing their patients!!
Hi Jason - I hope this comment finds you well and healed. Thank you for caring enough for others to share your experience. You also have a great attitude. Realistic, yet hopeful. You explain the negative aspects without being negative. You offer solutions. This is the type of information others need; information that doctors can't or don't always share. It would be great if upon a cancer diagnosis that a person would be assigned a survivor mentor (like those who have an AA sponsor). Someone to ask questions that doctors are unable to answer and someone to reach out to when a person needs emotional support that family can't seem to give. I have a great friend who worked in oncology research who felt exasperated with his patient load while interning because there was only so much that he could do for his patients. He would be on call for about 15 patients. The calls ranged from true emergencies to emotional needs seeking someone to listen. He couldn't do that; especially at 3am. At first I thought my wonderful friend had become jaded, but soon realized there was a great emotional need by cancer patients that was every bit as important as the physical; something doctors couldn't provide around the clock since their main concentration is the physical treatment. And waiting for a group meeting or waking a spouse or friend at 2am to talk doesn't fit. So it would be great if a person volunteered to offer this type of support to a person they truly understood. The mental-emotional aspect of cancer treatment is every bit as important. So thank you and bless you.
Jason thank you very much... I start my treatment for throat cancer in 1 week. Definitely going to ask my dentist about switching my filling. I'm doing a video journal of my treatment for the same reason as you... help out others going through this. Thank you once again.

Thanks for the encouragement. Not looking forward to the next 7 weeks, but I am ready to give it as much firepower as possible to knock out all the cancer once and for all. This past year has already given me a new look on life so I am sure it will only get better once the treatments are over and done with.
I’m in so much throat pain! I tested a false positive to Mono, and my PCP is not a M.D., and she blamed all my symptoms on MONO. Finally she agreed to give me a CT scan which is on May 17. I’m getting sicker, I’ve had severe burning and mild to moderate hoarseness. I got sick on February 16, 2023, and my throat in the back has bumps and whitish spots. Even if I really did have me mono, a sore throat would not last nonstop for 8 weeks
Good info. I just started my therapy, same thing as you. My Oncologist suggested a mouth guard to protect my fillings from radiation. I am on my second of 35 treatments. I did not have my metal fillings removed, I hope the mouth guard protects my fillings, that sounds like a nightmare.
I have just finished this exact treatment August 2019, age 54, Australia. I had no issues with mouth sores from my fillings. I suspect you would have had the sores regardless of the fillings. Your tip about the liquid anaesthetic was a life saver - thank you. My biggest tip to anyone about to have this would be ... once the heavy phlegm comes, make sure you gargle and clear your throat properly before you put the mask on, before you go to bed, and before you get in the car. Otherwise it will make you gag
@@lisasawyer6521 Hi Lisa, not's no good, but if my experience is anything to go by then he will be fine. I am 3.5 years down now and I'm doing fine. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts - especially the advert about having fillings removed. My dentist shared with me that they call us ( I'm in my 70s) the heavy metal generation because we have so many metal f8llings!

Great video, thank you for posting. Ahh the things they don't tell you! Like the lympodemia and the electric shocks down the legs and arms, which didn't start until after month 2 post radiation or perhaps I was just unlucky with the later symptoms. Well done and good health to you.

Not sure about the next treatments.
thank you for these vids after i watched your vid the first time i forced drs to listen to me, for 6 mos i was hurting after a septoplasty, by the sixth month i started arguing with my ent to no evail. he never scoped me before surgery or after i started complaining of pain in my left nasal passage and throat. first it was thrush, then it was irritation from intubation, then a virus, i got a second opinion with another ent and first thing he did was scope me and in 5 min told me i have a tumor in my nasopharayx and into my orophanyx. im so glad i saw this cuz it made me stop being a "good" patient i got mad and demanded answers. after ct its looking like it is cancer because the center is necrotic. its so sad we have to watch youtube in order to make drs actually do some doctoring. the ent i was going to could have given me a 6 mos head start on treatment if he got off his arrogance and just accepted what i said and scoped me.
Jason, thanks for making this. I'm in the "process" of getting diagnosed with what I think you had. So, I'm delighted to find the special moxy that patients have which physicians don't think about. If you know of online support groups, could you post their URLs here? When my daughter was dying from a brainstem tumor 20 years ago, an online support group of patients and caregivers was humongously beneficial for note-comparing management strategies. Thanks again!
muffypup the best support group is the Facebook link in my description. Absolutely amazing the way that group helps people newly diagnosed or currently going through treatments.
I am glad you are feeling better. Stay strong as it does get better. I just finished the same thing though mine originated at back of tongue and they removed 16 lymph nodes. It did not bother my fillings but I did get a few sores in my mouth with one on my tongue that did effect eating. My ENT gave me a compound mouth wash (not magic wash) and it worked great. I would tell you the name but it is a compound so it has no name.. If you want, I can ask him more about it and share it with you. But why did they put the port in your arm? They put mine in my chest. Did you have a feeding tube to help with eating? I did and it helped a lot.I created a blog of my treatment that you can read here mycancerreport.blogspot.com/
Thanks about the blog. I did it to help others going through same thing because the web just gives basic info so we go in blind. I just asked to join your FB group. Thanks for sharing it. I almost did not get the tube but it did help. I have been done for a month and still really do not have an appetite. I have to force myself to want to eat. But I feel fine otherwise. I know it will come back. But I do have a few questions. Since it has been 3 years, did your saliva ever return to normal or do you still deal with think mucus in your mouth. Again, thanks!
Hi Jason, yes, you are a trooper. All my best to a full recovery for you. Aside from what you covered in this video can you compare the sound of your voice, both before and after radiation/chemo. Did the treatments adversely affect it?
Two different things effected my voice, or at least my perception of it. First, cisplatin caused some pretty severe tinnitus so I started hearing myself lisp... "S" sounded like "th". But when I asked others they said I was talking normally, no lisp. It was just my perception of a lisp that I was hearing i my own voice. This has diminished quite a bit over the last 3 years but every now and then when my tinnitus is really bad I hear myself lisping again. As far as my real voice, during radiation my voice got softer and softer due to the sore throat and lack of energy. Buy about week 5 I pretty much quit talking altogether because it wasn't worth the effort. Myself, my wife and son all know sign language so we just used that to communicate during that time. After rad treatments as I healed slowly, my voice came back and is now pretty much normal. Maybe a little weaker but I only notice when I try to sing (never a pleasant sound for anyone to hear, even before treatments!).
My voice permanently changed. I am breathless alot too. Too much phlegm in my throat. Coughing & choking all the time. Trouble eating & swallowing. Have to cut all my meat into small slivers in order to swallow it. Take small bites. Have to eat with sauce on everything to swallow it. Have to drink 8 glasses of water every day. I get tired a lot trying to talk so I avoid social settings & having to talk alot. Its lonely. I cannot sing any more either.
thanks for this Jason - I'm about to begin radio/chemo over 6 weeks for throat cancer. I will def check on getting fillings replaced, although time is short. I've sent request on your FB group page...,. all the best
@@jasonb1971 Made it! Had my last radiation treatment today. Thank you for the support! Tough as hell is an understatement. I was at the point of giving up many times. It can be done though!

Who are the 10 assholes that would give this video a thumbs down. This gentleman is discussing perhaps the most difficult and personal of experiences of his life, for no other reason than to help others.
Thank you, Mr. Barker for sharing your hard earned experiences with us. I do wish you a speedy recovery and I hope that you are feeling healthier now.
there are always asshole pigs on the net, too bad some ended up here.

Jason, you are an amazing person, to go to so much trouble to help others is an incredible effort. All the very best to you.
Can you tell me Jason what symptoms you had before you were diagnoced.
Jason,
You are such a kind hearted person. Having gone through the ordeal you are pre empting others from the avoidable pains. I salute you. Others have a lot to learn from this video. I definitely have. My best wishes to you for cent percent recovery. Thanks, once again.
Thank you Ananta
Hope you all having a good today
My dad had this cancer, it started with a cough that lasted 2 weeks but wouldn't go away. He is still here after radiation treatments and early intervention. Thanks Jason!
That's wonderfu. I wish you both all the best!
How many radiation treatments did he have someone I know just got stage one and we are scared of putting them through it.
Hope you all having a good day today
I can't thank you enough for this video. I'm so sorry you had to go through this terrible disease but am grateful for your advice. My brother was just diagnosed with neck and throat cancer, stage 4 and is ready to undergo surgery in a week. If even one of the pieces of advice you shared works, you've done more than you know. I know this was done a few years ago and hope you are cancer free and living a wonderful, full life.

Yes I am cancer free, thank you. I only wish I'd shot more videos during my treatments, that would've helped even more people.
How are you doing today?
Could be H pylori too. Update us on your progress.

Thank you for your honest story. I wish you the best Jason.
I also brushed (and still do, 29 months past the end of treatment) withint 30 minutes of eating/drinking anything other than water or club soda.
i'll have to check into that. thanks!
Great video. Cool, calm and precise delivery of info. Very reassuring tone as well, this is going to help a lot of people, this is what the internet is for. I found this after my event and I just had radio, so I was very lucky, and I had good people in the NHS sort me out. Appreciate it anyway.

Jason Barker Hi again Jason, I will do that tonight. Thanks

Thank you and bless you
Hello there, my husband has just been diagnosed with tonsil cancer. Any updates for you after your treatment?
@@lisasawyer6521 Hi Lisa, not's no good, but if my experience is anything to go by then he will be fine. I am 3.5 years down now and I'm doing fine. I have some very minor side effects that are slightly annoying but in no way are they stopping me from doing anything. My biggest advice is 'DO NOT CONSULT DOCTOR GOOGLE .. you will find 99 items of pure rubbish for every one reliable bit of information. Trust your doctors and nurses .. they are angels.
Thank you for this video. I wish we could prevent these things.
beverly francis There is an HPV vaccine, so we can. :)
Hi Mr Baker! I hope you're healthy and all is well. Thank you for this video.
Thank you. Yes I'm doing awesome now!
Thank you sir for your story it's help me understand more of what I have to go through Be Blessed
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts - especially the advert about having fillings removed. My dentist shared with me that they call us ( I'm in my 70s) the heavy metal generation because we have so many metal f8llings!
2007 at age 61 I was diagnosed with throat cancer, stage 3 c . teeth pulled, surgery 5cm tumor, tonsils, adenoids removed, Chemo, Radiation followed. I lost 90 pounds but came through very very well, until October of 2016 when I got a sore throat that progressed to ear infections, I thought, Went to see my ENT, No Cancer but I now have Radiation Scaring that gets worse every day. I'm having a very hard time swallowing, living on malts and buttermilk and protein power, Head hurts like shin splints all the time, hurts when I breath, hurts when I talk. Docs so far haven't been able to help. Any Help out there? I planned living well into my 100s but not like this. Dr. D
hate other warriors going through so much too. cancer sucks... hugs to you!
So sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I see this was written 1 yr ago. Have you had any luck with your pain?
How are you dale
Very good info, Jason. Thank you so much. Hope you are well & happy now.
Thank you for this I'm so sorry you had to go threw hell! Stay strong love :)
I wrapped my husbands arm with Saran Wrap too. Magic Mouthwash helped his mouth sores.
Keep us up to date may god bless you my friend stay strong 💪 👍🇺🇸
Wow. This is a very helpful video. Thank you!
Great video, thank you for posting. Ahh the things they don't tell you! Like the lympodemia and the electric shocks down the legs and arms, which didn't start until after month 2 post radiation or perhaps I was just unlucky with the later symptoms. Well done and good health to you.
Jason, it was so unselfish and generous of you to share your experiences and to take time to make this video. I hope you are doing much much better by now and that the cancer will be gone completely.
thank you for sharing this. My father had throat cancer, and it is one of my biggest fears. How are you now? I see it ha been nine years
Thanks. Your clues are absolutely great.
I just recently diagnosed with spindle cell of the lyrnex. After watching all of these videos I realize that life sux and is not even worth putting myself thru this stuff. I'll go in for a laser treatment and if it doesn't work then I'll be saying goodbye to this lousy world
I understand Laura. But I made this video 6 years ago, and now I'm as healthy as I've ever been and enjoying life wonderfully. Please know that it's always darkest in the beginning because there are so many unknowns, and there are so many negatives that it's hard to see anything positive about going through any kind of cancer treatment. So I encourage you to not make any permanent decisions just yet. Follow the path towards treatments and see where it gets you. Find mutual support from others who've gone through the same thing, they are a tremendous resource. Join my Facebook group called "Throat cancer advise from survivors", literally thousands of survivors willing to help you in there. Just make sure to answer ALL the questions when joining, I am very strict about keeping out spammers and scam-artists who prey on selling "miracle cancer cures".
@@jasonb1971 i had hypopharangeal cancer last year and they diagonised it very late(stage3) because of the position of the tumour. i did concurrent chemo and radiation. Have a frrding tube still. dr said my tumour destroyed and i am in the remission. Every 2 months need to review. until 8 months struggled with swallowing , dry mouth etc. After that feeling better. Unfortunately 14months later after the 1 diagnosis my cancer has come back again. but this time in the left throat lymphnode.(same squmous cell carcinoma). Now undergoing surgery. Not sure about the next treatments.
@@subramanianparasakthi4595 sorry about that. Sounds like you're in for another battle, stay strong!
Jason you are so beautiful inside and out. God bless you 💜🥰💜
Thank you for sharing.. I wish you all the best brother
thank you for these vids after i watched your vid the first time i forced drs to listen to me, for 6 mos i was hurting after a septoplasty, by the sixth month i started arguing with my ent to no evail. he never scoped me before surgery or after i started complaining of pain in my left nasal passage and throat. first it was thrush, then it was irritation from intubation, then a virus, i got a second opinion with another ent and first thing he did was scope me and in 5 min told me i have a tumor in my nasopharayx and into my orophanyx. im so glad i saw this cuz it made me stop being a "good" patient i got mad and demanded answers. after ct its looking like it is cancer because the center is necrotic. its so sad we have to watch youtube in order to make drs actually do some doctoring. the ent i was going to could have given me a 6 mos head start on treatment if he got off his arrogance and just accepted what i said and scoped me.
Great advice, THANK YOU Jason !!!
Jason, thank you!!! You're so beautiful for sharing this stuff!!!😀
Thank you so much for this information!
i can't thank you enough.... kind regards, john
I've sent request on your FB group page...,. all the best
thank you for sharing your experience
Thanks for the advice. About to start all of this.
You can do it Davy. It's tough as hell but worth the fight. Get support when you need it.
@@jasonb1971 Made it! Had my last radiation treatment today. Thank you for the support! Tough as hell is an understatement. I was at the point of giving up many times. It can be done though!
I hope you’re doing well. I see this video was recorded 6 years ago. My dad has gone through the treatments of throat cancer and unfortunately he did not make it long past his last radiation treatment.
I'm sorry to hear this.
