Bar Muscle Ups and Ring Muscle Ups - basically the same movement, right? WRONG! Yes, there are major similarities, but there are also major differences. This is a common question I get so I just had to make a slow motion video to highlight the different techniques you need to use for each.
    0:00 Intro
    1:14 Pre-requisites
3:05 The transition (why it's not the same for both)
5:29 My favorite 3 cues for the transition
7:15 Stringing together reps of bar muscle ups and ring muscle ups (one big difference!)
    9:58 Multiple reps - similarities
11:15 side by side slow motion comparison
    11:35 FREE stuff!

The description on the cycling the movements was great. I don't have RMU yet, but I can do BMU and stringing them together has been a challenge. The queue to drop straight down is great. I will definitely need to keep that in mind when I work on them again. Thanks.

“ falling back on the rings, trust fall” best advice to get the next RMU rep.
I’d love a comparison between thrusters and wall balls.
    Thanks

Working on the strength prerequisites for both currently. Would like to see comparison on the difference in the needed kip for stringing T2B, PUs, and C2B. I see folks struggle with T2B but have PUs for days.

The "moving through" vs. "moving around" was a great way to describe that difference! I had about 5 unbroken BMUs but couldn't get 1 RMU for this exact reason. You put words to the feeling I noticed between the different movements, but now I have that verbal cue to remind me! It would be cool to see a comparison between a snatch and a clean; specifically focusing on the differences between the hip contact + shrug portion of the two lifts. Thanks so much, your videos are awesome!

Nice video review of both movements! Makes a lot of sense with the differences you pointed out. I think a good video with similar analysis would be Strict HSPU and Kipping HSPU. I can do strict HSPU but haven't quite mastered the kipping HSPU. Thanks!

I'm going to try falling down on BMU instead of falling back. I fall back on both. I want to see a comparison of butterfly pull ups and butterfly chest to bars! :)

    Hey coach
I think I'm doing something wrong with my grip
as for the open 22.3 I totally ripped both my hands, just in the middle of palm.
I cant train since sunday (the day I took the 22.3) because my hands are still not good
    What am I doing wrong?
what can be done to prevent it from happening?
