So, hall of mirrors is a spell that gives the witch scaling potential, and is phenomenal for boss fights. After two turns of getting it to go off you’re rolling two extra dice which means two extra attacks, or an extra attack and an extra die. It’s a really solid pick for tanky builds, but is also just all around good
I don't know, it's debatable whether it's good or not. If you have more of a stall build it's okay, but Tyler seems to prefer heavy damage-dealing builds so it's not great for him.
I was honestly struggling with the first Witch episode until I tried running full hall of mirrors strat myself...it's usually between that or prepared slots with big numbers but really when you have enough dice flowing in you can get a lot of damage just by overwriting your slots multiple times a turn.
10:24 Hall of Mirrors is hands down the best spell IMO, since it stacks -- as soon as you find 1 health gain spell, and granted you can survive a few initial blows, you can always end all battles with full health through sheer dice quantity
Under "bonus episodes" there's the Halloween special. the witch's episode is very cool! it doesn't have any luck and it's purely just puzzles I really recommend you check it out, even before you beat the rest of the game. actually, there are mechanics introduced in later witch episodes that come up in the Halloween witch episode. so it might be harder/confusing if you play the Halloween one first. but definitely try it after! especially if you enjoy figuring out the optimal way to play and don't really care for all the luck

I’m so happy that Tyler is playing this game, this has got to be one of my favorite rouge likes, and to see him play it makes me happy that this type of content is being made.
For a character that revolves around and revels in the vast amounts of die to guarantee optimal plays and absurd control, Duplicate is vastly overpowered for how much freedom AND damage it provides. Witch should definitely prioritise that over doubling dice, I recon.
Tbh,with the deck that he ended up going with at the end it wouldn't have made sense,he basically doubled his chances of getting a 6 which was useful when his main damage output requiered sixes
@@GamerTowerDX yeah but when you consider how much of a snowball effect he could've achieved if he went hall of mirrors as well, both being in prepared status. Even if there were no sixes, duplicates are just too powerful to let go, evident of how blizzard+, cauldron+ and many others could create absolute havoc in mere seconds.
Hall of Mirrors on an upgraded slot honestly feels like godhood once it starts rolling... our mystery sixth character is the silliest with dice accumulation though.

I know you don't really like the story, but I wish you had included the jester turning into a dice as the 6th character, even if you fully skipped the dialogue
Hey, Tyler! Here's a fun tip for the Witch! Have a dice and don't wanna throw it? If you have a spell that requires 2 dice to put into your hand, you can put the correct dice in there in order to actually store it in there for use! This means you don't need 1 turn to get a better spell, AND this means if you put another correct dice in there, and CANCEL the spell, you can get the dice back to use for THAT turn! It's honestly a really cool tech, and is a good reason why you should have at least one spell that requires 2 dice to use.
10:30 you don't need two dice if you put hall of mirrors in a prepared slot, but then it can't be upgraded. Still it can give you infinite dice with the right setup.
You say that a 5 and a 6 are difficult to get for hall of mirrors, but that's just a 1/6 chance for either number, much like all the other numbers, and it wasn't like any other item was using specifically a 5 and a 6. You also already had a couldron at the start of every fight, so you have "x starting dice + 1" for your opening hand, where x becomes higher the more levels you have since you get more starting dice. It's unlikely that you'd get it off during your first turn, sure, but it allows for more dice to be used per fight, giving you more flexibility.
the witch rules so hard. shes so tricky but when a build works by god does it work. some of the episodes/modifiers are a miss, but some of them are really good and worth a play!
better witch mechanic, when a dice is used in the spell book, you get the dice back and the throw dice changes to match that spell (eg. getting a cauldron makes throw dice give a new dice)
I personally struggle with Witch (I think), but eventually managed a win; the game threw me a bone by giving me Buster as the boss, who was pretty much hard countered by the ice spell I had. Though I would also highly appreciate some tips for the later episodes.
That’s actually how you unlock the Bear character, if you steal a bear potion and use it you gain access to it and for the remainder of that run you’ll play as. Bear
For anybody who's interested in the story, you are a part of a game by Lady Luck, and if you win you will get to ask for any wish to come true, but while you are there you: 1. Need to be a dice for the lulz. 2. Can't leave the place. And to keep it short, nobody wins. Jester is the right hand man of Lady Luck, and the Witch is actually one of the enemies you can encounter. Sometimes they get turned into dice as punishment, and that's why there was no Jester in the scene after the boss, 'cause he said "Oh yeah we can actually leave!" and basically betrayed her.
That even required split a die probably benefits odd spell synergy. Splitting a 2 gives 1 and 1 Splitting a 4 gives 1 and 3 or 2 and 2 Splitting a 6 gives 1 and 5, 2 and 4, or 3 and 3. 4 of the 6 ways you can get a split results in both odd dice while 2 of the 6 splits gives even. So if you use odd dice spells then that turns the 50/50 success into 83/17 because 66% of your evens get converted to odds. To get more specific, of the 12 possible returns, you get 1’s from 4, 2’s from 3, 3’s from 3, 4’s from 1, and 5’s from 1 out of the twelve. Putting your most wanted spells in the 1, 2, and 3 slots would be the best chance of getting those if you have the even split spell…

With spells that require 2 dices to be casted on the spellbook(like magic spear) u can use 1 dice ( so just a 2) and then end ur turn, and it will only need 1 extra 2 after so u dont have to discard a single 2 making stuff like magic spear even better

So what would you say, so far, is your favorite and least favorite character?
If you do the witch in the bonus episode it’s like a puzzle game
Can you do the bear dice run? I’ve commented about it before but just in case you didn’t see it. While playing the Thief Dice on the second level if you get the alchemist fight and run it out until you get the bear potion you can use the potion to turn into the bear dice for the rest of the run.
Not sure if this will get to you! But you are an incredibly unique RUclipsr. The games you play are super interesting, and it’s always fun to have new and exciting content (love this game as well), keep it going!
TIL you can throw burning dice to burn the enemy.
"I don't have enough dice to have two blizzards 😏😏"
Hall of Mirrors: ☹️
Question: can you kill someone with a dice by throwing it at them repeatedly? How hard would you have to throw it to kill them? How fast?
Love your vids.
Im here from speedrun

20:07 is call stupid luck XD
witch is just a fun character
I love this game!
cool
Did you know if you throw a bird dies burned it will deal an extra damage or two I'm not sure but more damage of bird dies that's all I can say and it doesn't trigger the hurt effect
>Gets Hall of Mirrors, one of the best cards for late game
>Says it's not that good.
I strongly feel like this character is by far the most interesting of them, and almost should have been the basis of the game
nah
I LOVE UR VIDS SO MUCH
