For the eel section in dolphin shoals it’s probably because it’s 200cc that you weren’t able to get that many more tricks than usual by shaking

For the eel in dolphin shoals, the most important thing to remember is to shake the controller while following the yellow spine of the eel. It can feel weird at times but done right it saves me a lot of time with loads of tricks.
22:19 on this track, we can see a skeleton of a piranha plant. Plants don't have bones though, this lead me to make a hypothesis that piranha plants aren't actually plants at all.
It has bones, that means it isn't an insect, arachnid, or another boneless animal.
Yet it may use the same kind as camouflage, like for example an orchid mantis, or crab spiders.
Conclusion:
It's fun to speculate about piranha plants, but in the end it is a fictional being in the mario universe.

I know you mentioned it and I wasn't sure if it was a genuine question - but the reason you're getting mushrooms from boo is because there's nothing else to steal so it gives you a default item, which is just mushroom.

We sure did a Bam Shock dodge tournament i was saying Bam shock sodge during the tournament!
Can you do it in which good items are much worse and bad items are massively buffed e.g. bullet bill lasts a second, star reverses controls, blooper totally blocks out screen
For tournament ideas, you could do item formats based on the sets found in Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario Kart DS, and/or Mario Kart 7!
The only item you wouldn't have access to from Super Mario Kart is the feather. But you'd be able to use the coin, banana, green shell, red shell, mushroom, Super Star, Boo, and lightning.
For Mario Kart 64, the only item you wouldn't have is the fake item box and *maybe* the banana bunch if you want to split hairs and say that didn’t just become triple bananas. Otherwise you'd have single and triple green & red shells, single banana, single and triple mushrooms, the golden mushroom, Boo, Super Star, lightning, and blue shell.
From Mario Kart: Super Circuit, you actually have access to every single item in that game already! This game uses the same items as MK64, aside from you not having to worry about triple bananas and the fake item box (which aren't in this game).
From Mario Kart DS, every item is also in the game already (other than the fake item box). So just add the Bob-omb, Blooper, and Bullet Bill to MK64's item roster and there you go.
From Mario Kart 7, just carry over from MKDS' roster. Except you still have no fake item box and the Boo is now gone. However, you'd also be missing the Super Leaf and technically the Lucky Seven (unless you feel like the Crazy Eight is enough of a substitute).
Maybe these aren't the "spiciest" formats, but I think they'd be cool! Plus they're probably the only past Mario Kart games with the smoothest item crossover to MK8DX. Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Mario Kart Wii have one too many items not in MK8DX. I think the farther you go in the series (like MKDS and MK7) the less "spicy" things get, but I do think the first two or three Mario Kart games would be interesting to see mimicked item-wise (especially the first game).

Those courses based on irl places at first were neat but I find they became my least favorite and least interesting courses overtime. All of them I hate playing on now except Singapore, that one is pretty cool but the others are so boring to me now
I have to get back into playing Mario Kart 8 and familiarizing myself with the DLC tracks more, but the one or two times I played Singapore I do remember thinking it was my new favorite of the Tour originals based on visuals.

Yes, that’s my point. The Boo will give you a mushroom if it can’t find anything, so mushrooms are technically still in play.
Bullet Bills are amazing in Melody Motorway in a similar way to MK Wii's version of Mushroom Gorge.

The first time you have a problem is if you’re going through something and you’re trying something new you need a break and then you’re not doing anything to it so I think you’re going through a really hard
Have you done the Klassic Kart Special? Just take items used from the original Super Mario Kart. It definitely isn't a lot, but more chaotic than what you'd expect. Items consist of the Banana, Superstar, Green & Red Shell, Mushroom, Boo, Lightning, and Coins. Triple varients are optional, but not recommended. If you want, you can try using the OG characters as well. Those being Mario, Luigi, Princess "Peach" Toadstool, Bowser, Toad, Donkey Kong (Jr.), Yoshi, and Koopa Troopa. A lot values can be messed with, like kart restrictions, class limitations (such as banning 200cc), and maybe throwing in a classic map every once in a while.
*Quick disclaimer, I do not know if this format has been used in a previous video or tournament, or has been mentioned previously, so please don't scream at me telling that I stole this from a comment or a clip of some sort.*

According to mariowiki, if the boo can't find someone to steal from it will return with a mushroom.

Man did that look frustrating, especially if you had nothing, you end up feeling so helpless against all the stars and bullets around you, but if you end up chaining everything right and having the right luck, this format looks fun as hell. Am I wrong to think most formats have a similar feel because of randomness or because of these mods does it actually become viable to come up with a strategy?
