BMW e.g. used to produce SUVs in Alabama that were then sold in Germany, mainly because labour costs are lower and because most SUVs were sold in the US. However, with the general deglobalization, it will be more producing in America for America, in Europe for Europe and in China for China.

Also there is a high number off-the-books work because working just a little doesn't pay, so you can get government aid and work a couple hours a month and get the same as someone who works full time on minimum wage.
