    For E perm, you can see that the "chameleon eyes" respective to each edge are of equal or opposite colour to that edge. You can then adjust U face so that the F face has chameleon eyes (on the L and R faces) of opposite colour to the F-face edge, and then execute the alg.

    bloopers were funny and the video was very helpfull oh and i learn how to do the rubiks cube from a different person but after that u are the person with all this videos helping me out and i just keep lowering my times thxs badmephisto

    Hi badmephisto your video was posted on speedsolving and i like it a lot!
    Very good for beginners in cubing! The E-perm is easy to distinguish when you look an edge than you look at the corner color! Because The H and Z have head lights the E hasn't got them! and also the execution is just by looking at the edge an the corner colors!

    Great video, it's just what I was looking for. About E,F,N,J and some others PLL I've already used this methods, but it helps me with V and the lasting PLL.
    Anyway I use another method for the G. I think it's faster..but your tutorial it's great, Thanks!

    Thanks a lot man! I have been getting good times on 2 L OLL and 2 L PLL so now it's time to start with full PLL. But man, I had no clue what to look for. I was litterally looking for five minutes at my cube and then on the PLL sheets.. And still I did not find what I was looking for. LOL. This helps soooo much.

    In the R permutation the headlights are extended by a 2 block on one of the adjacent sides. The G permuation has eitehr a 2 block that is not connected to the headlights or no 2 block at all on the adjacent sides.
    @Badmephisto: Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you forgot about the U perm during the headlights part and about the 3-edge cycle during the 3-block part. =|

    To tell apart the clockwise and counterclockwise edge cycles, look at the UR edge. If it's the color opposite the ones around it, counterclockwise. If not, clockwise.

  • @draekan2753
    @draekan2753 11 лет назад

    the way i reconize the e perm is that i look for the nothing but then there is also the 2 opposite diagonal corners being solved if you see that you can just do the e perm and it will be solved if you don't see it just do a U or U' and do the alg

  • @Rossy__
    @Rossy__ 15 лет назад

    If I may suggest, why don't you either post a video or a section on your site including some PLL recognition exercises. Like, "which features does this PLL contain?" and "In the ___ PLL, what features exist?"

  • @badmephisto
    @badmephisto  16 лет назад

    right. but you cant see both diagonal corners at the same time easily.
    E perm sucks :(

  • @alvinhsu1998

    how do you recognize R from G from just 2 sides

    • @nanamacapagal8342
      @nanamacapagal8342 3 года назад

      Depends on the angle. And also there are two different kinds of G perms: the ones where the block is next to the headlights (Ga and Gc), and the ones where the block is opposite the headlights (Gb and Gd). For sake of clarity, I'll call Ga and Gc the "adjacent G perms", and I'll call Gb and Gd the "opposite G perms".
      Also I'll be throwing in A perms and T perm because they're the ones meant to be learned at roughly the same time as R and G perms when learning 2-side recognition.
      With that out of the way, let's go.
      If you see headlights and a CONNECTED block, you've either got T perm or R perm. If the color between the headlights is opposite (or if the two remaining stickers are the same) then you have T perm, otherwise it's R perm.
      If you can see headlights and a DISCONNECTED block, you've either got one of the A perms or one of the adjacent G perms. To tell the two apart: look for a checker pattern in the headlights. The A perms have one but the adjacent G perms don't from that angle.
      If you see a giant 2x2 block in the middle, you either have A perm or V perm, and to check you have to look at the colors of the stickers at the ends. If they're the same, it's an A perm (and the headlights will be opposite the opposite corner), but if they're different it's a V perm.
      If you can see the headlights, and it looks like an H perm for 5 stickers in a row EXCEPT FOR THAT LAST ONE, you've got an opposite G perm. The position of the block will be opposite the headlights and pointing away from you.
      If you see headlights and it looks like it alternates colors for 5 out of the 6 stickers, check where the odd sticker out is. If it's on the far corner, you have an R perm and the block is on the other side of the checker. If it's in the middle however, you have an opposite G perm. This time the block is opposite the headlights and pointing toward you.
      If you have a length 4 checker pattern on the side and nothing else, you have an adjacent G perm, and the block is on the other side of the checker.
      This is where it starts to get tricky. If you have just one 2x1 block on the INSIDE you either have a G perm or a Y perm. Y perm won't have book-ends (where the stickers on the far sides are the same) so if there are book-ends you can rule Y perm out.
      The 2x1 block on the inside will be trapping one sticker on the very side, and if it's adjacent you have an adjacent G perm, and if it' s opposite it's an opposite G perm.
      If you see a block on the OUTSIDE however, and there's nothing else, you have several options. To tell these apart, check the sticker next to the outer block, and check the sticker on the edge next to that corner you checked. If the block were on the first two stickers from the left, for examples, you want to check the 3rd and 5th stickers from the left. And vice versa.
      If they're opposite it's a T perm. If they're adjacent it's an A perm. If it's the same: check for book-ends. If there are no book-ends, it's V perm. If there are, compare the color of the stickers you were checking before, and compare it to the color of the block. If they're adjacent, it's R perm. If it's opposite, it's an opposite G perm.
      If you do see a pair of headlights but no checkers or blocks, you have an A perm. The 2x2 block is always on the sides you can't see.
      That leaves the last case scenario for these PLL cases: bookends and nothing else. I personally recommend just going for 3 sides when you see that, but here we go anyway.
      There will be just 1 color that repeats in between the book-ends. If the repeated color is adjacent to the book-ends, it's R perm, and the headlights are opposite the repeating colors. If it's opposite to the book-ends, it's an adjacent G perm, and the headlights are adjacent to the repeating colors.
      This is way better explained with an image or a video rather than in pure text, so please do look up a tutorial for 2-side recognition. I can only give so much advice in text format.
