Seeing this is truly awesome. The fact that this was 12 years ago and they went from playing shows like this, where there are only 20-30 people just standing there watching at a local skate park, to giant venues and fests with thousands of screaming fans is awesome and inspiring. It just goes to show if you work hard and keep doing what you love pushing forward, you will be successful. It may take years, dedication and persistence and you'll get there... 12 years is a long time but not that long when you compare to other successful bands who have been going for over 20-30+ years. It's cool seeing where a great band started to where they are now...we all gotta start somewhere!
Scott Heisel at least Methadones, but yeah. finally got unlazy enough to upload this from a DV8. 2015 me is really pissed we didn't record the Methadones set.
afacelessname Steve! Do you have a list somewhere of all the shows you booked? I'm trying to compile a huge spreadsheet of everything I went to and a lot of those shows blur together, especially the Lion's Den ones.
Lion's Den stuff may still be on an archived version of savethescene.org.. My personal list of stuff got eaten by a computer problem. I had a back up cd with the info and it no longer worked. So I lost a lot of that. I know a lot of who played, just not when. It is info I would really like to have back.
Thank you. So cool. I love everything about this. They have Todd( my fav ra guitarist) they're playing songs from rpm and unraveling and lastly they're playin in a skatepark!
omg this setlist so fucking beast! Almost of this setlist are my rise against playlist, especially Alive and Well Imagine if this video has more best audio quality, maybe i'll play it everyday
I like how Tim says were going to play one of our new songs black masks and gasoline (i happen to love that song) and im thinking it was one of their old songs. I know this was from 2003 but still i would give anything to have been there.
WTF Steve Johnson? where have you been my life since the earliest vidS of RA YOU HAVE? I guess I've been to lazy to look real hard for super old 1.ft stage RA videos THIS ONE IS PRICELESS TO HAVE FILMED in from WI and the first time I saw them was on accident or I guess by chance my girls 21st bday went to Chicago trying to find some rave we planned to go to. couldn't find it said fuck it went to a VA hall for some band I never heard of called Rise Against. thought some fucking hippy ass patchouli oil mailing mother fucker would come out and play but then these guys came out I've now seen them eight times I have I think 3 or 4 rise against tattoos on me and still to this day it's like he tore a page out of my life and put it into words in a song I can relate to every word he sings THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
Do you know what camera was used to film this? The chick in the beginning mentioned something was cleaning a cassette, so I’m not sure if it was a cassette camera or used a cassette recorder to record the audio and just overlayed it on the video.
I was at this show. Hanging out in the back room because I was in a bad case accident the night before. This was February 15th to be exact. I got in my accident on Valentine's day.
fuck mainstream music? There is a lot of mainstream style music that is really good. What you mean to say is "FUCK THE 99% OF PEOPLE WHO KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT ANYTHING."
Adriano Luz Actually his voice has barely changed. Sometimes it might not be as raspy anymore but if he wans to he can still pull it off. Screaming is still awesome.
listen to the music instead of the voice singing the words. He can't sound the way he used to and still perform the way he wants to, it just doesn't work. Take a step back and learn the basic fundamentals of how music works. He doesn't suck now, he's just different, and you don't feel the way he does. That's why it sounds bad to you.
Long hair Tim is such a different vibe lol.
He’s got to be one of the most underrated punk singers of all time.

The first time and place I'd go with a time machine.
That performance of Halfway There though... holy shit
When the crowd jumps up with Tim to sing it brings a tear to my eye
K.
First time I've ever seen them perform 'half way there' live. Amazing video. Thank you for this piece of history.
Me too
Yo, I'm pretty drunk and sentimental currently, but thanks for thanking me (and by extension Ellie, the videographer). All the best!

We had over 150 people there that night, probably closer to 200.
colin saw them play a basement show infront of 30 same energy every time
it’s now 21 years ago
R.A. were part of the punk and HC scene back in 2000. Respect for what they became
Tim Mcilrath is one of my favorite singers ever.
We're all punk rockers here.
would GIVE IT ALL to be there
Rise Against is my favorite Band Ever!
Holy shit, I was at this show and can't believe footage exists! If I recall correctly, Fallopian Swim Team opened it.
Scott Heisel at least Methadones, but yeah. finally got unlazy enough to upload this from a DV8. 2015 me is really pissed we didn't record the Methadones set.
Jabroni Productions You are both right. We had one other band too, but cannot recall for the life of me who it was.

afacelessname I already tried Archive.org, it unfortunately never grabbed the site back in the day. :(

Todd is the fucking boss 💜
Dan precision is way better. Check out break the silence. Or 88 fingers or any of his other great bands. But break the silence was insane.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS!!!!
I miss RA from 2001 to 2007
You mean Rise Against, as far as I’m concerned they broke up after 2007
+Meme Thief Rise Against Didnt break up. They are still together. What are you talking about?
Maybe he meant when Zach Blair joined in 2007 !?
Zach ruined Rise Against. I love everyone in Rise Against except Zach and the music that followed with him in the band.
@@AlmostaFlipinSkater Zach plays give it all wrong for example. It dont mean he ruined RA.
Thank you sooo much for this video. 💙
Bless you for uploading this.
thank you for loading this!!!!! made my night
Thank you for this.
Todd you're the best!!! I miss this RA so much, so much 😢
眠れなくなりました。2003年にこんな素晴らしいライブビデオが残っていたとは驚きました。ありがとうございます。😮
Still my favourite band from my teenage days... seen you in Lisbon in 2003 after the RPM release

This is truly amazing I wish I was there but was way to young they were destined to be legends from this moment on
All the band filled of energy, awesome crowd, some of their best songs... Ahhh, old times...
Es una joya este vídeo, los inicios de RA son incomparables 😎👏🏻
So happy to see this. I booked the show, it was a very proud moment for me.
Was this the tour with anti flag and Agaisnt me?
@@_D_E_N_N_I_S_ no, it was a one off with local support and the Methadones
@@afacelessname oh ok thanks

his voice is now a shadow of its former glory.
I like how Tim says were going to play one of our new songs black masks and gasoline (i happen to love that song) and im thinking it was one of their old songs.
I know this was from 2003 but still i would give anything to have been there.

I'd like them to play Generation Lost today :D
Everchanging live, what a goldmine video
Tim’s voice is FIERCE!!
This is why we need to invent time machine.
I would just be going to old punk shows in the 90s if I had a time machine lol, I don’t think I would even have time to kill baby hitler
Why is theis one of the best and clearest recordings of them that isnt at a giant festival and recorded officially lol
good ole days
HOLY FUCK.... i would kill for this... this is everything
This concert was on Friday, January 3rd, 2003! I imagine it was sometime in the evening! :) But a great concert, this is!!
We usually started shows at 7, Rise went on around 10pm.
Damn, this is just... EPIC! Rise Against all the way goddammit! :D
Esto es oro puro hermano
awesome!
Tim looks like he just came back from recording the Heaven Knows music video, lol!
How many times has Rise Against done STAINED GLASS AND MARBLE as the ENCORE? Let alone play it at all
Video: 240p
Audio: Hi-res, 4K, Dolby Digital Surround
killer snare!!
I was there, but in the back!
RPM was their peak imo
Did you keep it 12 years on camera or some other record? :D

I didn't know PIT was still there in 2003.

Tim mentions at 27:00 they are gonna be somewhere next friday ,january 10th
true, my brain was telling me it was January 2nd or 3rd, so that's about right. I'll see if I can find the tape around where I labeled it.
Steve Johnson Pretty sure it was the third. Just saw the flier not that long ago, some where I still have the contract.
literally if i was watching this not knowing what we know now id be throwing my fists in the air, congrats RA
Nice!
With beard and long hair tim looks like Tyrion Lennister from GoT :D
holy shit.. RA my all time favorite for 16 years...THAT is fuckin funny AF lol.
How the fuck is it possible that everyone is standing still ?
dont know

I don't know the exact model... Some Sony handheld that recorded to digital 8 tape... Maybe a dcr-trv140?
Pretty sure this is around the time I first saw them. They opened for anti flag with against me in philly.
I was at this show. Hanging out in the back room because I was in a bad case accident the night before. This was February 15th to be exact. I got in my accident on Valentine's day.

joe using a jazz bass. you will not find that anymore... all Fender Pbass' now
+Texas is dumb
I think you saw him at least til 2005 with a black Jazzbass .. maybe even to 2006 or 2007 :)
ErsteWahl Videos Inc. i strive for his pass tone
That was awesome! Fuck mainstream music, I mean, beats engineering with a girl shaking her ass in a camera
fuck mainstream music? There is a lot of mainstream style music that is really good. What you mean to say is "FUCK THE 99% OF PEOPLE WHO KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT ANYTHING."
Captain Matt bud, Rise Against is mainstream punk.
@@gabrielmastel4433at this point they weren’t tho

Leroy Butts get it butthurt =D
I love punk music, but goddamn that is one of the most annoying drum patterns ever.
