    The Cayman (2nd gen and up) really is one of my favorite cars. It has such an elegant body shape. Whoever bought this one and brought it to you definitely has good taste. The yellow stitching on the black interior is very classy and it is definitely a car that looks good in silver. Giving it more low-end torque with a bored and stroked motor will only improve a car that already has such impeccable handling. If it didn't already have them, then they might have wanted some fatter rear tires just to ensure that it won't break traction exiting a corner, but I don't think it'll be a huge issue here. Time to load it up with some sticky tires and throw it at a track to have some real fun now that it's got loads more power on tap.

      What's so special about double wishbone suspension? I know it's for racing, but how is it more superior technically?

    • @egekarabacak4416
      @egekarabacak4416 2 года назад

      @@emptyskullify double wishbone allows your alignment to stay consistent when the car is turning/leaning to one side which allows more contact patch and less static camber, so technically it is superior but practically for road cars suspension tuning will make the most difference not the type of suspension.

      They do custom swaps. They might be able to do a 3.8 from the 997 gen. 3.8 cayman engine swaps are pretty common, especially for the 987 caymans. Don’t see why the 981s wouldn’t be able to take them

    • @donm527
      @donm527 3 года назад +1

      If you look at the graph, it's at the wheels. The car is on a dyno on wheels. If it was at the crank it would be on an engine dyno engine out of car.

    • @vvevvevvvv
      @vvevvevvvv 3 года назад

      @@donm527 wrong. Dynos are always showing crank horsepower and the run dyno can show you drivetrain losses.

    • @donm527
      @donm527 3 года назад +4

      @@vvevvevvvv What the heck are you talking about? I have had my cars on dynos since my first car as a teen from Mustang GTs to Z06s and had work done and hung at shops like Steeda... If it is a roll on dyno, where the rear wheel drives a set of rollers, then the numbers shown on the graph are rear wheel HP and Torque. If it is an Engine Dyno, where the flywheel is connected to the dynamometer, then you have BHP, or flywheel HP. Old school when we put cars on roll on dynos, the rule is whatever reported number shown at the wheeel, add 10-15% for drivetrain loss from the flywheel to the wheels to get an approx of crank hp. Please don't sound like you know anything kid.

      Because it's so easy to get a C7 'vette in Southeast Asia right? And then ship it all the way to Australia to get the RHD conversion and ship it back home again? That's already the cost of the car itself. Mind you the import duty for import cars here are already 100-150% for luxury / performance vehicles. So expect paying 3x of that $60k Vette original US MSRP. Annual cost for road tax in Malaysia are insane too, they're calculated by the engine capacity, it blows up considerably after the first 3000cc, so for a 6.2L Z06 for example you'll be paying around MYR 16000 or around 3.5k USD a year. And then you're paying similar amount of money for the annual insurance cost. That's USD 7k a year just to own and drive the car on public road. That's like the average yearly income for the average household in Malaysia / Thailand. That still doesn't include gas price and the usual maintenance fees. Shit's crazy expensive here.
