wow, you guys make that swap look easy! and we peep 👀 those Fabspeed Headers 😎
Yes. It Febspeed Header
The Cayman (2nd gen and up) really is one of my favorite cars. It has such an elegant body shape. Whoever bought this one and brought it to you definitely has good taste. The yellow stitching on the black interior is very classy and it is definitely a car that looks good in silver. Giving it more low-end torque with a bored and stroked motor will only improve a car that already has such impeccable handling. If it didn't already have them, then they might have wanted some fatter rear tires just to ensure that it won't break traction exiting a corner, but I don't think it'll be a huge issue here. Time to load it up with some sticky tires and throw it at a track to have some real fun now that it's got loads more power on tap.
Great video, I personally know Rick Deman and he certainly delivers quality race motors and Race cars! Let’s see more videos of this build.
At first I was like "that's insane!"
But then i was like "Yeah it is :))"
Thats pretty my my dream cayman, with that 4.5 L engine.👍👍✌️👉
I have a 981 GT4 Gaurentee it's a totally different car with gearbox alone nice content
Literally just watched Farrah drive the Deman 4.5 Cayman...........Please , Take My Money !
Holy….half inch impact on under-trays!?
Fantastic!! Can you do this starting with a regular Cayman?
Nice swap and congratulations 🎉🎊🍾🎈!
Thank you! 🤗
Tell me more about the all wheel dyno with the 2WD car
Rollers are connected with a belt.
@@AuditudeA642 Ah ha. thank you!
@@AuditudeA642 But why?
Insane !!!
This probably doubled the cost of the car...
At least $50,000 on parts & shop labor cost
Only* 50% more.
@@dannyMCDelight at that point get a fucking 911
DeMan charges ~$60k with labor included iirc
Now give it the GT3 double wishbone front suspension, the beefy GT3RS wheels and tires, some more aero, and show Porsche how it's done
What's so special about double wishbone suspension? I know it's for racing, but how is it more superior technically?
@@emptyskullify double wishbone allows your alignment to stay consistent when the car is turning/leaning to one side which allows more contact patch and less static camber, so technically it is superior but practically for road cars suspension tuning will make the most difference not the type of suspension.
How much does this Deman conversion/upgrade cost? Excellent work by the way!!
50k usually
Should have gone with SOUL Performance headers and exhaust system. Otherwise, yes, sweeeet!
Another DeMan Motorsports package... impressive numbers!
WOOOW! i ned this in my life !!!
Is this also possible on a non GT4 model? I would love to do this to a standard 2.7 cayman 981?
DeMan prolly needs the larger 3.8 block for a core swap.
They do custom swaps. They might be able to do a 3.8 from the 997 gen. 3.8 cayman engine swaps are pretty common, especially for the 987 caymans. Don’t see why the 981s wouldn’t be able to take them
Every clip beginning: What's up guys
Every clip ending: So stay tuned
Man if I had the money!! Yes please? Good vid!
I have my 25th anniversary, only complain is the power compared to my turbo S and stupid long second gear.
523 on high octane fuel or e85?
Whats up guys stay tuned!
Wowwwww
What's up guys?! Stay tuned!
"Stay Tuned"
And also, stay tuned.
Till next time guys, Stay tuned!
Sick! Ned updates please 🙏
News? How did it turn out? Better than a GT4RS?
Does anyone know the actual performance numbers? 0-60, top speed?
I was just in one a couple weeks ago I don’t know exact numbers but we did about 35-90 in a few seconds I’d say
All the money spent on parts & labor and you could’ve purchased a GT3. Please tell us cost?
718 is midengine
@@TMWagner21 that’s a 981
@@doughnuts5364 50k for the parts
Can you do this to my 987.1?
Uh, was that engine broken in before you wound it out on the dyno?
nice. any recent videos of this car?
That gearbox is a Cayman box with 3th to 6th short gearing kit or is a different gearbox?
Love this.
Are they have short ratio gearbox to 981 base boxster?
How much would something like that cost?
How much did this engine and transmission swap cost please? Did Autowerks build the new engine?
35k+ not including trans. Deman built this. Based in the US
I thought the GT4 had a 4.0L, not 3.8L engine?
The new gt4 has 4.0 the old one has 3.8
Guys if I ever could afford a GT4 Could I please have this done to it? Seriously how much would a job like this cost the consumer?
forget it, it would cost you almost as much as the car itself lmao
On Deman's site it says "$29.000"
Guessing with included shipping and labor.
🤤😍😍 I’m love it
put a bugatti w16 with 1500 hp in the engine bay
What about weight and balance that’s the hallmark of a cayman gt4 ?
It’s the same block..
I suppose 523 hp is on the crank. What is the whp?
Their 4.25l engine made 489whp so maybe this is at the wheels!? Crazy.
If you look at the graph, it's at the wheels. The car is on a dyno on wheels. If it was at the crank it would be on an engine dyno engine out of car.
@@donm527 wrong. Dynos are always showing crank horsepower and the run dyno can show you drivetrain losses.
@@vvevvevvvv What the heck are you talking about? I have had my cars on dynos since my first car as a teen from Mustang GTs to Z06s and had work done and hung at shops like Steeda... If it is a roll on dyno, where the rear wheel drives a set of rollers, then the numbers shown on the graph are rear wheel HP and Torque. If it is an Engine Dyno, where the flywheel is connected to the dynamometer, then you have BHP, or flywheel HP. Old school when we put cars on roll on dynos, the rule is whatever reported number shown at the wheeel, add 10-15% for drivetrain loss from the flywheel to the wheels to get an approx of crank hp. Please don't sound like you know anything kid.
No way jts on wheels. 500 even on crank is well over 100hp/liter which is max for NA Engine
and now its more expensive than a 911 GT3 !
Litre
I see no torque wrench.
2:18, what does that look like to you?
Lip synch your way outta here poser.
They use German torque...Good-den-Tight.
Youre way out of line
If you don't need that old engine am here in Buriram i can take it off your hands.
We also have the stock 3.8 for sale too.
1 year later still no video on this thing.
Buuut, subscribe and stay tuned..
Imagine buying a regular cayman or cayman s that's got a bad engine, and replacing it with the 3.8 that came out of this car. In case you can't afford this 4.5L gt4.2
And then turbo it
or you can keep the gt4 and get a grand sport
Because it's so easy to get a C7 'vette in Southeast Asia right? And then ship it all the way to Australia to get the RHD conversion and ship it back home again? That's already the cost of the car itself. Mind you the import duty for import cars here are already 100-150% for luxury / performance vehicles. So expect paying 3x of that $60k Vette original US MSRP. Annual cost for road tax in Malaysia are insane too, they're calculated by the engine capacity, it blows up considerably after the first 3000cc, so for a 6.2L Z06 for example you'll be paying around MYR 16000 or around 3.5k USD a year. And then you're paying similar amount of money for the annual insurance cost. That's USD 7k a year just to own and drive the car on public road. That's like the average yearly income for the average household in Malaysia / Thailand. That still doesn't include gas price and the usual maintenance fees. Shit's crazy expensive here.
sorry, but the first 1/5th of your video is a repeat of the title. I stopped watching.
