- Finally a new video! Some life updates plus some of my thoughts on being in a sorority when I was pre-med. I get a lot of questions about whether or not being involved with greek life is a good idea as a pre-med. In general, I think it's great if you can #1 balance your time and make sure school and grades always come first #2 get involved in leadership and #3 get involved in volunteering! Plus, the friendships I made through Delta Gamma are priceless :-)

I loved this video!! I just joined a greek organization on my campus a month ago, and while balancing my various commitments has been hard, it's been worth it! My organization is very involved with Diabetes research, so that's been a nice volunteer connection to the healthcare field!

Hey Andrea! Loved this video. I was in a sorority in undergrad, zeta tau alpha and an exercise science major. And had to learn balance too! Always missed a few events every year. Now I'm in my first semester of graduate school for speech-language pathology. Would love a video/interview with a hospital based SLP if you can find someone. I've only ever observed private practice/rehab/and school SLPs. So would like to see what an SLP would do in the hospital or rehab based settings! Thanks girl!

can you interview with a physical therapist. I think it would be amazing to be a pt, but I also would love to be a surgeon but I don't think I'm going to do that route because I want a schedule and not being called in ect. but time may change things, I'm a sophomore in college. hope to see another awesome video soon w a pt!

Wow this video is perfect! I was searching on google for more information about Greek life because I've been on the fence about it for a while. Thanks for sharing your experience! It makes me feel a bit better but I also don't know if I have your discipline to stay in all the time. I do so quite often now and it's alright but when you're surrounded by that atmosphere I suppose it's easier to fall into FOMO?

How about working while premed? Can you maintain good grades and work or should you just focus on your studies and work during the summer?
You majored in chemistry right? How difficult did you find organic chemistry? Did you have to speed your test taking because organic chemistry tests take a long time and yet its the test where i'm given the least amount of time to finish.

Oh man, I just got accepted to University of Pittsburgh for pre med and I am honestly super excited but I don't think I can afford to go anyhow because I am an international student and I don't have any time of financial aid available to me and I am so bummed.

Hi Dr. Tooley! I'm a first year medical student in Brazil and your videos are incredibly inspirational and eye-opening. As someone who hasn't fully adapted to the hardcore lifestyle of med school, I often struggle on how to organize my studies and I found the video which you talk about methods of studies, really helpful. I really liked how you categorized 'active' and 'passive' studying. I never thought of that before, and looking back, the times I unconsciously used an 'active' study method, I got better results on my exams and learned much more effectively!!! I gotta tell you that even though I still have 5 years ahead of me (Med school in Brazil is 6 years long) I am now really considering Opthalmology as an option for my Residency.
I am interested in the healthcare field & also live in Minnesota!!! Your videos are super helpful and have given me great advice so thank you for posting them and keep it up!
