Should be on the official AFL channel as well. Would be good if Australian fans knew this went on
Australia do know about this most of the views are Aussies.
Including me
@@tropic2860 All 4,000 of them?
Yes
Im a massive afl fan... i didnt know about this until right now
Finally AFL is getting international attention
Love these stories
Make a team in Greece . We have many Greeks whose ancestors were immigrants in Australia and returned here and love footy
Yeah I’m was gonna say the same thing. I am from Australia with a Greek background and no one in Greece knows about AFL. My grandparents immigrated here and my parents and my other family were born here but I really love Greece. There’s something about it that makes it feel like home. The main reasons I probably couldn’t see myself moving to Greece are the economy, of course, and that there is no AFL there.
@@EBGamez1 yeah Greece can not give you anything better than Australia except of food and beaches. That was a good choice
@MiNiisDumb yes I am from Athens
That’s actually really smart, all my theios love afl
Well Melbourne has the highest Greek population outside of Athens so this makes sense
Its so cute how they improvise with the rugby posts
I have played AFL for 8 years and I’m an Aussie, it’s the best sport ever invented, can’t wait for every country to have a team then have nationals and AFL at the Olympics!!
It may not be the Olympics, but every three years the AFL runs an International Cup for men's and women's countries around the world (2020 was postponed).
In the 2017 event, AFL Europe had representation from Croatia, France, Great Britain, Ireland & Germany. :)
@@afleurope1470 really?! Australia part of it?
@@afleurope1470 dude the international teams should be teams that are trying to make the Australian league you can’t just steal our league and make your own in USA or Uk
@@PortAdelaideLeGend what?
@@alankenyon3965 it was a joke 😂 but grand final will always be played At the MCG
This is awesome, to see it makes me proud of my Aussie heritage, Well done guys and girls your playing the best game in the world.
Can’t believe I haven’t seen this earlier. This is great. I’d love to see more Europeans get into Aussie Rules
To see your local Adelaide SANFL team jumper, Sturt, overseas, that's some reach. Great to see people enjoying the great game.
Great to see. I posted in my groups
This is great 👍🏻
I love this..... 👍👍👍Each AFL club should invest in a region in Europe, United states, Canada, China, south America etc... Only focus on children.. for ten years and watch the game grow from there... That way each AFL club has a brother club... Essentially the same club with different branches.. that feeds into the AFL...
As a Crows fan I agree. We’d have big Norwegian gods feeding our team 💪💪💪
@@leemetronicle I reckon getting actual GODS would be unfair to the other clubs... Maybe real Vikings would be better... But if Adelaide are allowed Viking's then the Lion's should be allowed Spartans....
This is exactly what the AFL should be investing their money in....
Recruiting talent from different time periods.... It's simply logical
Just found this would love to go to Europe and play a couple of games one day. Love their passion for our great game.
We'd love to have you! We have over 20 participating countries across Europe and a growing number of teams. 😀
Glad to see this amazing unique game catching on overseas brilliant...
Best code of football in the world.
Just found this. It is so good to see the game i love being played over there. Would love to see you over here at the MCG. Here's hoping for some kind of series, test matches, where we can all see these teams
Some of our national teams travelled to Melbourne in 2017 for the AFL's International Cup! That's held every three years however was cancelled last year and is likely to be next held in 2022 or 2023.
Okay, okay.. I'll come over and live in somewhere in Europe after covid and play some footy then 😅
Seriously though, this is amazing! I'm definitely going to help support this if and how I can. Made me cry a little even haha
Fantastic guys!
It's truly wonderful to see Europeans loving our game. It's apparent that they've also adopted Aussie footy culture. The Aussies who taught them grew up with that culture and know how essential it is for success. The Richmond Tigers in particular have called themselves family for years, including all our supporters (and we have the most supporters).
No, you have the most members.
Sydney has the most supporters
And hawthorn is literally called the family club and has their ‘family club mantra’
I think Collingwood have the most supporters mate
@@georgia3738 OK, I've had a lifelong bias towards Richmond, but the recent successes have been on the back of a family first mentality. Hawthorn thinks it's 'The family club' because historically it had so few supporters. Hawthorn may have been the team for families before the whole league went in that direction, but that has nothing to do with my assertion that all Tiger supporters consider each other family.
All besides the point, which is that people in other countries are now becoming part of the Aussie Rules family. It strikes me that the success of women's footy is key as that brings their men and kids in, as supporters and players. The various men's leagues will take years to become competitive by our standards, but the kids who grow up with the game will provide a growing talent-base.
I know several o/s RUclipsrs who've fallen in love with footy, and promote it for all they're worth. There are now footy leagues in UK/Europe, USA, and Asia. NZ, PNG, Canada, South Africa, Pakistan, Indonesia, Croatia, and even Bermuda are playing footy.
Every club is a family, and every club is part of THE family. I look forward to the day when anyone in the world can enjoy as we have been so fortunate ourselves.
Great direction for the game
i didn't realise so many countries had teams going; seems like some nations only have the one club for their entire nation so hopefully you can get a grassroots fund or something going so they can get a small local competition going on to get better at the sport. Would love to see it develop far enough to have like a "European All Stars vs the AFL Team of the Year" exhibition series one day and see it be a really good and competitive match.
The jerseys looks so good for all those teams
Check us out on social media @afleurope to see more of them. ;)
Wow... This is big and I didn't know. AFL need to show some bits before every match.
We'd love that!
That is a fantastic idea im sure that people here in Australia would be elated that our game is being played in Europe..
Got a lump in my throat watching this.
Best game in the world, don't mind sharing it with the rest of the world.
Playing because it's different and it's fun! That's what it's all about. good luck to them all : )
We've conquered China & South Africa, next Europe. No wonder Soccer is so scared of us!
Australian football league Europe doesn’t make sense but it is good to see afl spreading around the world
Hi Grant! We are an international representative body for the AFL, similar to how AFL Victoria or AFL Queensland are state-level representative bodies for the AFL, hence AFL Europe.
Therefore, AFL Europe isn't as such a league, but a governing body who support our participating countries, like Germany and Denmark, and their competitions.
Hope that makes sense, and thanks for your support :D
Thanks hope it goes well
Great i posted to my groups
Thats the aussie spirit go the pies!!! AFL!!!!
petition to have a round of AFL played in Europe
Great to see Aussie rules, the greatest game in the world, taking off in Europe.
But honestly, they’ve gotta stop playing on rectangular fields. The AFL or the local council or something need to do some funding for a proper field to be built. That way teams can play in the proper fields and the sport can be showcased a bit more
wow! you guys rock, and a womens team as well. terrific stuff, best wishes from oz :)
I hope it gets bigger world wide the Irish teams must be hard to beat. do the other teams no how many Irish players play or played in AFL and some have absolute legends of the game.
Yeah I agree with you. Probably the best Irish player to play AFL was Jim Stynes who actually win the Brownlow Medal which is the MVP or Best and Fairest in the AFL.
Onyas great work
Really eye opening, I hope one day it becomes an international competition that would be grouse
Yeah bro it’s in Canada and japan to name a few places but there’s a lot more
yes then we would win something for once
Would love to see a wold cup oneday
AFL - Reminds of seagulls fighting over a chip, but without the rules. (I am a Sydneysider and must have my dig)
I know Sydney, it's the city where Seagulls swoop people for a chip.
Id love to see a europe v australia match at the MCG
Not yet, but if it continues like this in 10 years yes absolutely
soo cool
I want Aussie rules to stay Aussie but a world cup sounds cool
Yeah same I like to think footy should stay Australian but it’s sounds alright to have a World Cup even though aussies will dominate for a couple years or maybe decades
Had no clue this is happening that's so wicked seeing the game that the aboriginals vented evolve to other countries 💯
That old red herring -it's a game invented by Anglos -just like many other 19th century games
Please show documented evidence of your claim... Just because marngrook has a bare resemblance to Aussie rules doesn't mean that aboriginals invented it😂
make it EFL because AFL stand for australian football leauge
Interested they use rugby fields
You should call it elf European football league
Is there Maltese teams
Nearly worked
you might want to change it to efl
screw that im moving to europe
No ones beating the Aussies tho
@Robreacts
And here we are wasting our resources trying to break into China, when Europe deserves the attention
There is no point in making a team outside of Australia they will win the wooden spoon every year
EFL
What the fuck, had no idea this was a thing. Is there a saints team?
