  • @gabrielapeter5412

oh Josephine is already an Asian mom 😂😂😂

  • @soyundorito8259

hi TPS!! what u called dragon dance is actually lion dance! very common mistake so nw. dragon dance has MANY people holding the animal up with sticks, and you can see the performers' entire bodies. if there are only two performers and they're hidden underneath the costume, its lion dance :3 the first clip with the chair was in Futsan 佛山style, going by the drum beat, and the one with the lion on the poles (called jongs) is either Hoksan 鹤山 or a fusion style (like FutHok or Southern-Lion-Northern-Dance). the jongs were an element added in Malaysia and theyre super cool!!!

The one with tap dancing and the stick is from the south of Brazil. It's called Chula, and the Gauchos perform them as a form of conquer a lady (historically)

  • @TheRockInnRobin

Omg please do one for the African Nations! Ghana and Nigeria are some of my favorites. Also, Reís Fernando is amazing!!! The choreography and his students blow me away.

  • @brookebyrne6615

The second one is Argentine Malambo, northern version (southern is calmer) done by gaucos (cowboys). He pobably also knows the boleadoras (balls on ropes swung in intricate patterns and rhythms while hitting the floor).

From Argentina Y'all!! The amazing oriental dancer you just saw is David Abraham and he is amazing! Belly dance / oriental dance has an amazing level in Argentina. I'm so proud of it! ❤❤❤❤❤

You should really see the Russian floating dance by Beryozka, a group that keeps the secret of the specific step they use for decades.

  • @Sincyn241

I’d love to see you react to either the Merrie Monarch hula competition or Polynesian dance champion videos. if you love belly dance, you will appreciate Polynesian and Hawaiian dance - the strain on the knees, and the rhythm at high speed of hips is just so impressive.

  • @ainehennessy7071

🇮🇪 I wish they showed the girls Irish Dancing in hard shoes! At world championship level it is even more impressive than the boys or soft shoe dancing shown here.

  • @marysdanceworld6066

Can Josephine please react to Scottish Highland Dancing? The Sword Dance, Sailors Hornpipe, and Blue Bonnets (which is a more balletic dance) would all be great choices to watch!

  • @Maybelline66

Hi, I love all TPS videos but please note that Irish dancing comes from the island - not a chunk of it with the top taken away, as represented on your map!! Thanks!❤

The one guy who did the belly dancing had some incredible shimmers! After my accident that took away my ballet dreams, I took up belly dancing. Traditionally it wasn't done by men. Thats a more modern thing. It wasn't until the later part of the 19th century going into the 20th that it started coming out. Women in the harems would often throw parties while the men had their own separate feats and they would dance. Belly dancing is great for pregnancy and helping a woman's body be strong. I danced until I was 3 weeks away from my due date with my oldest. Then I was back at it again until I was 3 months along with my daughter. Everyone was amazed at how quickly I popped my babies out. So Josephine get out there and warm up those hips, you got a baby to rock.❤

The spinning fellows on the ends of the ropes . . .

  • @miriamneff2586

Mexico - that's ballet folklorico. Related to Spanish flaminco. My daughters' middle school offers folklorico as an after school club <3

FYI- China was Lion Dancing. My dad taught for many years in Chicago to youth. He's retired now. It brings me joy to see it shared. The guy was using the chair to mimic the lion and his buddies using bowls and plates to make the drum/gong/symbol sounds is hilarious but awesome.

  • @steveclark6307

As an Irish dancer, I am soooo glad they showed a competition! It is actually extremely competitive, especially in the Midwest region. There are constant regular competition going on and also during thanksgiving there is Oerechtaeus, don’t think I’m spelling it right, but it is regionals, and then that leads into both nationals and worlds.

  • @michellebloch8970

Wow that last one from India is just a confetti explosion. I love it 😄

  • @janefiebelkorn

In Germany we have a special Dance too, for Karneval we call it "Gardetanz" 🎉
