Hank Jr is one of the biggest OG’s in country. “Family Tradition “ another classic
I said the same thing. Gave you a like so he might pay attention. Like mine too just in case LOL
He has to do this one
Yes!!
We're getting it up there!
No. Hank Williams Junior is not the OG. Hank Williams Senior is the OG. Hank Williams Junior is the OG Jr.
His dad is the GOAT of country music. That’s all you need to know. Lol.
Yes, he was. A lot of people don't realize the impact of Hank SR did to music.
Amen!!
Hank is entirely right. You can't starve us out because we can grow our own food, fish, and hunt. You can not make us run because we are not afraid. You can not shake our spirits because we follow God. Test us, and you will lose.
Absolute fact
Amen ....
@@beachbunnie5413 👍
We are all going to need those skills soon. 3 Days of Darkness on the way and it's going to test everyone 🙏. And no I'm Not religious.
all the weird haired ,uni- sex ,waste's of education money, whiner's will get a rude awakening !!! we dont share with people who hate HOW WE CHOOSE TO LIVE!!! good luck,.
Hank Jr KICKS ASS!! 😊 Next do Hank's Family Tradition! ☺
looking for every comment that says this and liking their comment. Hopefully he'll do it
Cause you can't starve us out and you can't make us run. It doesn't get any truer than that
Family Tradition is an absolute must hear.
The greatest rural virtue is self-reliance. The second is generosity. ❤
Community and family. While everyone could be self-reliant, band a bunch of said people together, and you can get even more done. Share workloads, get stuff done faster, free up some time for a little R&R to avoid fatigue/burnout, do it again the next day. I grew up on a farm and still live out in the sticks. Got a good rifle, 3 good shotguns (different sizes), a good revolver, a good bow, and a collection of good knives and other tools. And family and friends of the family all over the area. As long as someone's not causing trouble, we're all polite and helpful. Most of us keep a pair of chains in our truck, in case someone needs towed out of a ditch, and we've usually got no problem stopping to help someone change a tire, give them a jump, or give directions as needed. But, if someone's looking for trouble... Well, the place where the Dalton Gang was ended isn't too many towns over...
JUST sitting down after a busy day.
Livestock crashed the fence this morning and were out loose; something spooked them at 4am.
Collect my animals and temporarily ment the fence by 8am...
Then i started tracking... Up into the foothills to find the "Spookers"; which i eventually did.. bang bang bang bang bang bang.. "Spookers" down...
Just finished fixing the fence permanently now. Here it is 6:48pm and i have not eaten a thing yet today. My scheduled chores have not even begun yet today. I'll be finishing by tractor lights around midnight and up to start it all over again tomorrow morning at 5am.
Life is different for us Country Folk. I protected my livestock; but i ALSO protected my neighbour's stock. 😉
EDIT.. Neighbour of the left just stopped in headed by in his tractor for night time hay run. "I'll send down a machine and a few of my workers to help ya finish up for the day" COUNTRY LIFE! 😉
This right here is what I wish we could just see on a day to day the glorious and tough life of farmers and cowboys
It's a hard life and ppl only see the outcome they don't see what ya'll really go thru.
"They got us way too divided." You're right on the nose.
If poor urban people and poor country people ever compared notes, the politicians and corporations would be in trouble.
Saw Hank live làst year and was just as good as he was in the early 80's!! Long live Bocephus!!
I got to see him in the 2010s, was a great show.
I saw him in April. He sounded great.
He wrote this after almost dying on a hunting trip out west
Ain’t this after he fell off a mountain
Ajax mountains
It's not just the country boys - don't overlook us country girls who were raised to be self-sufficient. We can hunt, fish, plow, etc (in my case Daddy also taught me to weld) and we are armed, too. For my upcoming birthday (71) my husband has promised me a new shotgun. Our oldest great grandson laughs that Memaw can outshoot both PaPa (my husband) and his father even though both were/are career military.
No one said it wasn’t country girls too. This is just a song about specifically country boys stupid
my sister and i like to go to the range and play with fully automatic uzis. you can rent them by the half hour, i imagine learning the movement of an auto is like learning to run a jackhammer.
Thus why Hank switches it up to "country folks can survive". It don't matter who you are, just what you can do.
Ignore country girls at your own peril! My Mom grew up in a Kentucky mining town owned by the mining company. And yes, the town, the mine, the stores, the houses, and to the company's way of thinking the people there were "owned" by the company. The company found out they were wrong, eventually. Mom with a shotgun, rifle, or pistol is a force of nature. She can fish, hunt, cook, and raise a family in a more than equal facility to country boys. Dad was lucky to woo & win her heart, and I and my siblings are a testament to just how awesome the two of them were as a team. --Dan
You want your mind blown you have to check out his daddy Hank Williams Sr. He is the granddaddy of country music. His writing is poetry.
Hank Jr. Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound
DAMN! Taking me back!
Country Anthem....TOBY KIETH! Courtesy of the Red ,white and Blue. R.I.P. TOBY🇺🇲🇺🇲🙏🙏❤
Country music is all about storytelling.
This was and still is my favorite artist. Glad you reacted to Bocephus.
I named my cats after him, Willie & Jones: Meauxephus Williams, Willard Nelson Junior Jr, and G. Possum Jones
Props for giving this Country Music legend a listen. This is Hank's wheelhouse. No BS and keepin' it real.
Hanks hair is natural so is his beard which hides the scars from when he fell off a mountain; true story. I live in Florida if things go bad my family always heads into the swamp; where we can thrive, my family has been here for over 100 years, we know a few tricks. The same can be said to any country area no matter what State; people that live in the country tend to know how to get shit done.
Glad you got ok the time to listen to Hank Jr. There a lot of good ol country songs out there. Wouldn't know where to start you down the rabbit hole.
I am a small town mountain girl there is something truly special about small towns and being in the country.
Other songs from Hank Williams Jr. to check out: Mr. Lincoln, All My Rowdy Friends (Are Coming Over Tonight), All My Rowdy Friends (Have Settle Down), I've Got Rights, and of course, Family Traditions.
My favorite is Mr weatherman
Hank and Waylon's The Conversation.
It really irked my tater when they changed the NFL song... I loved seeing him at the beginning of the games when I was little. It was the only part of football that I understood - the opening song 😂
Dinosaur
Hank is the son of the legendary country artist Hank Williams. Legendary is often used loosely, but Hank Sr is a legend among other legends. He was the most influential country artist in history. To really understand country music, you need to listen to Hank Williams, Sr.I would suggest starting with I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry and Lovesick blues.
This song came out in 1982 bro! Timeless! Bocephus! I got to see Hank and Lynyrd Skynyrd at legend Valley. Hank got so drunk he was falling asleep on stage while he was playing lol it was a hell of a time!
I have seen this video more times than I can count. I watched your face during your reaction. Your eyes said everything.
The story of Hank and his legendary father is nothing short of remarkable. Love both their music .
Thank you for broadening your horizons in music. The wider your base, the taller your pyramid can rise.
Omg youve reacted to my favorite artist of all time Cliff your a legend 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
If the crap hits the fan, 98% of the city population is gone in less than 2 weeks without food or water.
Nope they gonna come for us and we aren't going to let them. We take care of our own first.
You mean when the crap hits the fan, right? Because it will.
in my area , abut 25-30 % mostly vet's . don't F around in western PA.
That's when it helps to know where natural springs are.... the cleanest and coldest water you'll ever drink, bubbling up amongst the rocks, right in your backyard.
@@thomasgirty6397 Same for the Ozarks.
😂😂😂 you NEED to react to his song All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight, THAT is an ass KICKING song!..
And the follow up - All My Rowdy Friends (Have Settled Down) right after.
2007 lol You're precious.
Born in '70's remember when this came out.
Hank Jr is the real deal
This is an anthem where I come from. South Louisiana.
I’ve been watching you for a long time. I’m here for your country journey.
I grew up the way this song talks about.
I hunted, fished and trapped.
I grew up with firearms an integral part of life.
We slaughtered our own livestock for meat and grew our own vegetables.
I can cut up a steer, hog, or any other critter you hand me as good as any butcher.
We also ate the meat I hunted, trapped and fished.
I sold furs for pocket money.
I worked on the farm from the time I could walk.
I started working for the neighbors on their farms when I was 10 years old.
Those were my first paying jobs.
I made $1.50/hour.
I thought I was rich.
We only had heat in the downstairs rooms.
We burned wood for heat.
it gets cold in the winter in SW Iowa.
I didn't know what A/C was until I was 18 and got my own place.
It gets hot in the summer in SW Iowa.
I wouldn't trade the way I grew up for nothing.
I grew up almost the same way .grandparents had no electricity or running water. Outhouse. Helped dad haul wood at age 8
@@melvinsmart9442 We did have running water but it was well water.
We had indoor toilets so you got me there. LOL
I grew up in and around Hanks stomping ground, a few miles up the road in South Alabama. I listened to his daddy Hank Sr. on my record player in the 60's. My favorite song back then by Hank Sr. is " My buckets got a hole in it" lol😂. Hank Jr's. momma was sick in the hospital one time in the early 70's where my momma was a nurse and took care of her. Hank Sr. is buried in Montgomery, Alabama in the city cemetery on a hill, wife is next to him. His grave site is something to see, has a statue of his guitar there. Hank Jr. Recently got married and now lives on his mommas old home place with his new bride.
You are a very positive guy. We need more of that.
“”That’s an anthem.” Indeed. We are family. End lies and the rule of lies.
Hank Jr has a lot of songs that many people can relate to
💚💚💚💚 I’m from a smaller town from South Carolina 😊 Hank Williams jr is amazing 💚💚💚
This song was released in 1981. I was 12 years old and still rings loud today
You have that right
Need to make sure we are all
Prepared to protect our land country
The song came out in like 1984, I think uploaded in '07....can't rely on what RUclips says, hahahha. So happy you did this reaction, another great one!! I did the country bar breakdown too!!!
Saw this guy in concert twice … both good shows.
@cliffbeats respect for being willing to step out of your comfort zone.
I grew up in SE Washington State in small town wheat country as part of Generation-X.
I was never much of a country fan either, but I appreciate the passion and simple truth behind this song.
I was always more of a truck driving music fan because I had 2 uncles who drove longhaul semi truck, and a friend who i grew up with whose family had a local grain hauling company.
Everything that Hank Jr talked about is legit. 💯
Whoooooo wheeeee! Look at all of these comments! You are bringing out the best in all of us - I love reading the memories &/or stories! I was named after Waylon Jennings's "Amanda".
This a true song a country boy can survive. I live 14 miles from the closest town and there ain’t no way I will move ever.
Classic and a great place to start. I am like you, 99.9999% rap but you cannot deny that Hank is amazing!!!
It is so awesome to see you reaction to some country music
Dude... I'm from Springfield, Mo!!! Love your reaction!! I love your channel!! ❤
I've been going thru some stuff and honestly hearing you react to country helped me remember these songs and they are helping me process some emotions. so thank you for bringing these back up to me and I hope any of these help anyone one in the comments.
Lee Brice - I Drive Your Truck
Brad Paisley - Whiskey Lullaby
Craig Morgan - This Ain't Nothin'
Justin Moore - If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away
Tim McGraw - Live Like You Were Dying
Alan Jackson - Remember When
Billy Currington - Walk A Little Straighter
Brother I can tell you straight up it is going to hit the fan and most likely sooner than later.
He's describing a way of life ❤
country state of mind by Hank Jr is a must. if you wanna know what country life is like fo so many of us
Country is my wheelhouse. You said let you know what you have to check out, i got you bro. Simple man by charlie daniels.
This blows my mind that this is the first time you're hearing this dawg. This is an anthem in North Florida.
Depending on your age you will love Hank Williams - Dinosaur. Thats one of those songs that stood the times.
I'm not a country music fan personally, but I think this is one of the best songs ever written.... ANTHEM!
The Man Of Steel. 1983 release. I remember this albums debut. It crossed all genres. Everyone listened to Bocephus. It blew up the airwaves.
As noted by another comment.
This was posted in 2007, but it was released in 1982.
We, in the south, still live by these means.
This is a classic song within country music
This has been an anthem since the early 80s!
My man, you HAVE to react to 1970 Deep Purple-Child in Time live !! I bet I’m not the first person to request that lol. LOVE your reaction to good ole Hank ! This song is one of the greats 💜👏
Gonna need them Dixon bros come apocalyptic times. 💛🤘🤙✌️
All genres, sing about the same thing’s ( LIFE ) it’s just to a different ( BEAT ). ❤️❤️❤️👵🏼. Hope you hada great time this weekend Mijo. ❤️❤️ Gmaw
I always loved this song, from a kinda small citty, but loved being out in the founty with family. Got my grandpawa old shack now, hell breaks loss, ill be at the shack with my guns ready if they come my way. After hearing this song live, it got me loving country life way more, hate the city I live in now, aint my small city no more
This is my family motto
Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound another great song by Hank.
Thank you.....welcome to country
Ive got rights and Mr. Lincoln are two of his best songs that nobody hardly ever seems to mention.
I was raised in the country where my parents grew up everyone knew each other and we have each other's backs. I go fishing and hunting with my dad my aunt has a farm and shed make homemade laundry detergent, soaps, and other stuff the country life is the best life in my opinion if it wasn't for us country folk you wouldn't have food or anything gotta be grateful for us
You should check out his dad, Hank Williams, from 1949, "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry."
Someone probably already said, but this song is older than 2007. (1982) " A Country Boy Can Survive " is a song written and recorded by American musician Hank Williams Jr. The song was released as a single in January 1982 and reached a peak of number 2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in March 1982.
Charles Daniels. Song The Legend Of The Wooley Swamp. Storytelling at its best.
Another song is Simple Man.
There is absolutely no way you haven't heard this! Am I that old 😭
I found you thru Upchurch reviews, he draws lots of his inspiration from Hank and many others of this genre!❤
Family tradition and all my rowdy friends are coming over tonight! By Hank Williams Junior
I laughed when you said you spent years in Republic MO as a kid, that's only 10 minutes down the road. Hank is an icon in country music, and his father is a legend.
There are so many sub-genres of country music. Check out Johnny Cash with A Boy Named Sue and his cover of NIN's Hurt. Reba McEntire's Fancy. Toby Keith's I Love This Bar. There's plenty more of course, but I'd love to see you explore a bit of the country rabbit hole.
He said, "Country boys can survive." Not city boys wanting to hide can survive. Hiding from anything. If you dont know country people in advance, you won't be taken care of when it hits the fan.
I had a good friend from Missouri when I lived in Michigan our football coach called Dr. Love when I was a teen, because having the last name Love and we always would get looked at funny being the 90s listening to country music
I was born and raised in Chicago, live out western Illinois now ❤it
Check out his daddy, the REAL country & western OG, Hank Williams (senior) singing "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry". By the way, this track by Hank Jr. actually came out in 1981!
Hank is a country legacy. Jis father also sang music and I think he has a son who is also a singer
I grew up on a farm. I can live off the land. Thank goodness my daddy taught me these survival skills
He is awesome.
You have probably heard him in the past. "Are You Ready For Some Football?" Monday night football, that was him.
After the mass shooting at the Las Vegas country concert, Chris Stapleton performed a song at the awards show called “WATCH YOU BURN” that is directly aimed at the shooter . 🔥👀👀👀
Thank for you reaction
The part where he says his friend was killed is a true story.
His dad was a legend in his time hence his name 'Jr.' This was released in 1982.
It was released in the early 1980's btw, if you look at the time stamp when he's mentioning his New York friend, the video shows 1982.
Another country super group made up of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson called the Highwayman" released a song called "Highwayman" was a brilliant piece of artistry.
A person with a good ear can hear little subtle musical style changes in each section.
Can give it a listen just for the experimental aspect of what I'm talking about.
The biker is Click Baldwin, owner of Carolina H-D in Gastonia NC. He was killed in a motorcycle accident in Montana in 2008.
Got 3 ya gotta check out.
1. Charlie Daniels Band- Long haired country boy.
2. Jamie Johnson - In color.
3. Justin Moore - If heaven wasn't so far away.
And another one -The South’s Gonna Do It Again by the Charlie Daniels Band!
The boat he was on in that video is miss Audrey. His mother’s name was Audrey.
The one thing I wish people would keep from his songs is how many have lines similar to "if you ain't into that, we don't give a damned" You do you, we don't care
Family tradition, two dozen roses, carrying your love with me, boot scootin boogie, neon moon
Brantley Gilbert is a Phenomenal song writer truly. He’s about as big as it gets in Country music now and does a lot of crossover. You should do “Read Me My Rights” because the song makes sense and he’s awesome.
Exactly, but men AND women. We will survive, and city slickers can't. We are ready in the country. LOVE THIS SONG
This is song of the South!!!
💯 good reaction 👏🏼
