    I have heard that the valve train geometry on the lt1 heads is wrong, which causes premature wear in the valve guides same issue the ls7 had.

    Just saw this video. I know it has been a minute. Not sure what you are running for power but I would go with tie-bar lifters. The roller may have come apart because the lifters started to rotate. Are any of the lifter trays damaged. Check the cam too because that damaged roller could have damaged you cam lobe. What is your intake? A holley lower with a different upper?

    Looks like cylinders were running too hot and lean.

    full rebuild up next. should have ran a compression and leak down test before tearing it all apart.

    Looks like it ate something from not having a air filter on it.

    That metal that ended up in the cylinder came from somewhere and the intake valve isn’t missing a chunk. Did you check inside your intake or throttle body for missing bolts? Good luck getting it back together quickly without to many issues.

    Looks like someone popped into you into ur intake with that big bell throttle body. The lifters dont look like the dod lifters those motor come with.

      @Cameron_Pena  2 года назад +1

      The dod lifters were still in the lifter trays

      Those things are known issues and the lt1 head valve seat on some motors would come out some.

    It kinda looks like there was something inside banging the chamber of that cylinder. Scars on head side of the chamber and could be the reason the valve and retainer is cracked and broke due to being caught in the valve. Was there anything in the cylinder when you removed the head?

    • @Cameron_Pena
      @Cameron_Pena  2 года назад

      Yes there were metal pieces in the cylinder and in the head on the top side.

      Looking at the video, the cylinder looks ok depending on a closer look of course. The lifters are shot, definitely a Dod delete is in the future, and that head needs to be reworked and smoothed. How were the push rods? Any bent?
      Obviously the pistons have to be replaced as well. Everything needs to be taken apart to remove all debris from all areas. Could be a timely process bro if you rebuild, be thorough. The cheapest is to rebuild stock with a Dod/AFM delete. Sorry bro, it’s gonna be costly

      @@crimecaise none of the push rods looked bent

    Those lifters that fell apart were the ones for the damaged cylinder?

      Yes

      @@Cameron_Pena interesting. I'm curious to see what the bottom end looks like.
      That piston smacked the valve cracking it and the keeper. Prolly bent the pushrod and destroyed the lifter. Crazy amount of damage for how well it was running(relatively speaking). Let us know what you find.
