I would get the kitten. I rescued a momma cat last year. And some random woman dropped a kitten on my doorstep. That kitten had really been through something traumatic. She hissed at everything and everyone. She was scared to death. And that momma cat hissed at her, because she didn't like being hissed at. I thought: "Oh no! These two are not gonna get along!" But it was no time before I looked-up and found that momma cat nursing a kitten that was no longer hissing. She started grooming it and loving on it as if it were her own. Cleo (the hissing kitten) became her baby. And Cleo is now a full grown "cuddly Cleo" the biggest cuddle bug cat that ever was. I think you'd be surprised at how nature finds a way. I know I was. If you get the kitten just make sure to get a crate, because kittens are kittens and seniors are seniors. If the kitten gets a little too kitten around the senior...you can always use the crate to give the senior a break & to get adjusted to the new kitten. You never know... they just might love each other & be just what the other needs. That's what I saw happen & I'd have never believed it. Whatever you choose Good Luck & Merry Swiftmas!
