- This is what happens when a group of pairs splits up. Are the rules fair? The lead riders are just hitting the 2nd parcours, here's what it looks like.

These updates are nice man, thank you so much! Robin Gemperle doesn't even look fatigued at all, the guy seems to be an absolute animal! Maybe TCR should make a separate classification for riders who switched from solo to pair or vice versa. I totally get how they handle those situations but I guess as a rider you'd want to have a sense of belonging, to really feel part of a bigger group. Not sure if a new classification would help much with that though as there won't be many riders in it. But it's just a bit sad that suddenly you feel like you're all by yourself in such a massive event. I totally get she wants to take part in the cat and mouse game with all the others. Anyway, keep the videos coming, I hope there are some other nice stories to pick out! Maybe some from a bit more to the back of the pack? :)
Gotta luv the Transcontinental drama!
Robin is insanely far ahead :D Looks chill and collected. What i dont understand are these parcours with the gravel and the rocks. Last year it was also sketchy so i dont know why they do this, but maybe this is the spirit of TCR ? The unknown :D I also follow Jana Kesenheimer Cap 10, i think she is the first woman currently making good time. Kudos to victor for turning back :D Cool update video!
Thanks for following along. Yeah Jana is having such a great race. Hope it continues smoothly for her.
Did you notice that Robin has ridden less far than Abdullah and is still ahead.. Really smart route choices apparently. (too bad you can't see the elevation they've done)
You hit nail on the head. The debate about being a pair and then not being able to be GC once a partner drops out is an easy one to win. You start as a pair and you have all the benefits of riding with a partner including drafting, moral support, sharing of mechanical parts etc......you start as a solo in GC you have none of that. It would therefore be unfair to those racing in GC as a solo to allow an orphaned pair to be categorised as same. Simple really. TCR as with most of their decisions have got it inch right IMHO.
Yeah, if I'm honest I'm not totally sure what she's asking for. Doesn't seem clear. Sarah says in a recent Instagram post that lost dot should consider reviewing the rules so athletes don't have to choose between safety and forward progress. I don't think it's about being in GC, for the reasons you mentioned it's not appropriate, I think it's just about tracking it somewhere.
All a bit weird if you ask me.
I’m suprised SR is doing so well, considering the amount of time she’s spent online.
She’s going to get a finish time, just not in the GC.
Haha love this mood from the moody team
Love the videos, mate! But can you maybe turn that intro music down a little or cut it out all together? Not sure why, but it get's on my nerves 😅
I absolutely can! thanks for the tip and for watching along
@@MaverickCycles Thanks, mate! Appreciate it!
