    In Europe, there is a HUGE difference in how Universities are perceived when compared with Colleges. If you're looking to work in Europe, you need "University" on your diploma. However, in a university system, there are smaller divisions called colleges (think Cambridge University's "Magdalen College" where CS Lewis taught), If you go to a college that is *within* a university - you went to a university.

    4:00: When you eventually get around to researching UWM, you’re not going to like what you find, lmfao! I’ve personally researched the shit out of it, and while up to 90+ CLEP credits are SUPPORTED in the IT degree, that same degree only has a 35% transfer rate for ACE credits in general (i.e., at best, only 14 CLEPs can fit in a BS, and only 7 CLEPS to an AS). Most of their degrees also do not support the DSSTs at this time. TECEPs might actually be a possibility (since they have been confirmed to accept FULL COURSES from TESU), but though don’t have a transparent policy in place for it yet.

While they are For Profit, they have a 40% graduation rate, accept some CLEP and Sophia (even into the Nursing program!) and some masters degrees while not offering ACE/CLEP, they offer experience credit for non-traditional students coming back for the graduate degree. Dr. Stumme, I just found your channel the other day and i am so grateful for it. About 2 years ago i recieved my AA in psychology and tranfered to a large (and expensive) 4year university in my area. I had an awful experience there and dropped out, but after finding your channel i now have faith i can complete my degree quickly, inexpensively and while working full time. I have looked into UMPI regarding a bachelors in psychology and if all goes well, i want to obtain a masters in social work. I dont necessarily want to be a social worker, but i am very passionate about mental health and psychology as a study. Do you recommend i follow through with said area of study in terms of career opportunities or would it be better for me to switch my major so social work for a bachelors degree? I want something as hackable as possible though

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  6 месяцев назад

      Social work is a surprisingly hard major to find at a hackable school, but it’s the licensure that leads to complexity. If your goal isn’t necessarily to be a LSW, definitely recommend doing the psychology undergrad at UMPI and letting your experience with that inform your next step 😄

  • @asoto157dude
    @asoto157dude 8 месяцев назад

    What is the best way to get a bachelor's as a way to set yourself up for graduates programs in the psychology/mental health field while also not having your bachelor's degree be worthless?

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  8 месяцев назад +1

      I think what you’re asking is if a major other than psychology can get you into grad psych/therapy programs, and the answer is yes 😄 If you Google Liberty University LPC, their therapy licensure degree will pop up. Once you look at the admissions requirements you’ll see they accept any major, no prereqs for admissions requirements needed. Not all quality schools are so lenient, but some are. As far as what major to go for, accounting or billing and coding are good ones.

      I’m not aware of another CBE DBA, so major points for that. Minor point deduction for being for-profit, which you already knew 😉 But their website is well put together, their 6-month blocks are perfect for doctoral work, and Reddit seems to like the program from what I read! I will say the admissions requirements are very low, but if they have the infrastructure to support less-prepared students then that doesn’t have to mean bad things automatically.

I was initially very excited, but I'm not sure if I should commit to LUO because of recent negative press regarding 14 million dollar fines and that Hulu documentary regarding the former college president. Do I need to worry about LUO losing accreditation for this type of stuff? Or am I over thinking this?

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  8 месяцев назад

      This is an excellent question. The way we think about this issue and guide clients is to evaluate how the core issue the school is having might impact their personal education. In this case, the problem was with residential students and Title IX requirements. This is something that won’t impact your personal education, so that’s good. As far as brand name, the school is definitely not losing their accreditation. As terrible as what they did was (and thankfully they got called out and penalized for their actions), it was a part of the campus culture. Reputation wise, it’s never fun to have your school attract negative press, but it doesn’t automatically mean the whole school is bad. If they were in trouble for misleading students and poor academic standards, that would be a very different story. :) That said, everyone has to make their own decision about where to attend school and what they feel good about so it’s up to you!

    I got questionss!
    Hear me out…
    I enrolled at SNHU (BA MIS concentration) when I shouldn’t have.
    My starting date should be May 6.
    According to my own credit mapping, I should be able to transfer about 87 credits with Sophia.
    I spoke to the counselor and told them I might delay the start date (until July). They said I could stay at the May 6 date window, and submit or transfer any credits while studying with them.
    Should I believe them that I will be able to transfer credits?
    They claim that they’re not sure that the current curriculum and transfer credits will be available for next starting dates.
    So should I do a marathon run on Sophia and try get as many credits in one month?, or should I try to push the date to take it more easy? Is there even a valid reason to push the start date? lol

    What are the three Sophia courses that come in as upper level at UMPI?

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  8 месяцев назад

      Microbiology, Business Ethics, and Business Law. Business Ethics is of the three UMPI undergrad classes accepted for transfer into their MAOL. So if you want that conversion down the road make sure you take that one at the school instead of on Sophia :)

    SNHU have 30 credit academic residence requirement
    Pls recommend any no academic residence requirement college?

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  Месяц назад

      No, that’s not how US colleges work. Basically all schools will require 30 credit hours, or 10 classes, be completed through their school. Some, like TESU, Charter Oak, and Excelsior, will let you transfer in more than 90 credits, but ALL require some amount of classes through their schools.

    I'm nearing the completion of my undergraduate studies in sociology at UAGC and I’m exploring options for online Master's degree programs in social work or mental health counseling. I'm specifically looking for programs that offer asynchronous learning. Do you have any recommendations or suggestions for reputable programs that cater to students transitioning from undergraduate studies? Your insights would be greatly appreciated.

      Seems that you don't need the degree, you only need the corresponding knowledge to teach your kid. Then Coursera is the best option.

      Liberty University has an excellent, asynchronous Early Childhood Education bachelors degree :) But if you don’t need that particular major and just need specific classes in early childhood education, you could do a build-your-own-major (chipotle degree) bachelors for less time and money. :)

    Which school is best for accepting 100+ transfer credits with a low tuition and high grad rate: Franklin U, Excelsior or Charter Oaks? (And low residency requirements)
