Hey! I’d love to see a video comparing the different levels within a brand of amps (like all fenders in a video, another on Marshall’s, black stars, etc) just talking about the perks of each model. It’s hard to find comparisons compiled together, and it would be super helpful for someone looking for their sound
I have the 6L6 version and it is sweet! Great for jazzy cleans or edge of breakup in a small venue. I just add my J. Rockett Mr. Moto trem and life is great. 🎸
My first tube amp was a hybrid, Peavey VT Classic 2x12. It was 6L6 loaded, 50w tube power section, with a solid state preamp. It had eminence speakers and a ton spank and character to the clean tone. Great spring verb, and a built in phaser. Through the years, I ended up using it as a 50w tube power amp to throw preamps on from other amps. One of these amps was a Blackstar Ht20 Studio. It got close to the mesa ballpark and could get fantastic volume on the cleans. I miss that rig, never should have sold it.
Here's a compliment for The Captain. Before I saw who was playing at the start I thought it was Pete. The Captain's playing has really improved melodically.
I have the blue EL34 version and it’s great. Takes pedals very well and sounds good. Currently looking at swapping out the Celestion Seventy 80 speaker for something a bit more classic, like a Greenback or Creamback. With the emulated out, effects loop and headphone jack you really can use this amp for practice, jam sessions and certain gigs.
Have you tried using the emulated out? Whenever I plug it into my interface it's sooooooo quiet, can barely hear anything. I need to turn up the gain and master to hear anything. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Apart from that, great amp!!
@@dspindola94 no, I’ve never actually tried it. It maybe has something to do with the emulated out coming after the power section? From what I understand, most emulated outs are before the power section.
@@dspindola94 You do need to crank the master a fair bit. And I find it works better if you use a TRS jack at amp-end with just the ring and sleeve connected, to a mono TS jack at the other end (so connect the ring at the amp to the tip at the interface end). Or just don't plug in the cable all the way. I struggled to get a decent level with just a standard guitar cable plugged in.
In terms of 400£ valve amps you could get the Laney super cub series: a 12W 110 combo, a 15W/switchable to 1W as a 112 combo or head, they’re all great, I own the 112 combo and I love it
These are fantastic pedal platforms if you need a very simple tube amp for home or small gigs. If you mic it up right it can fill a room. All you really need for most gigs is a 20 watt and you don't need to turn them up that high anyway.
@@steventhomas231 I have the EL34 version and it sounds pretty good at low volumes. You can get it to overdrive at relatively low volumes with the boost as well. And you can gig with it, so it is an overall good deal.

You guys have way too much fun, that's not work - get it right.
Shout out from Oz.
Pls, can you copy Bruce Springsteen's Tele sound? It's kinda mystically strange. The 75-78 period is full of goodness and kinda hard to pin down. It's a bit crunchy but smooths out when turned up.
lunch break means Andertons video :D
Can I have one? Wished I could own an amp
You will.
When I was a young-player in a band, I had to beg, borrow, but never steal an amp to play shows with. Never had the same amp twice.
Just try to put a little away for a down-payment and get one on credit for decent monthly payments. Maybe sell some things you don’t need anymore?
You’ll get where you’re going. I know things are awful right now, but it will improve sooner than later.☮️
@@hailmaryrecordings8255 when I was young I finally got a guitar for my birthday. And I was even gifted lessons. Until one day I went to school and my step mother in a cold calculated move she threw my guitar and amp in the dumpster on trash day. She cancelled my lessons too and I asked her why she did it. She said it’s because she felt like it. Luckily she’s not in my life anymore, but the pain and hurt remained, I loved that guitar and amp. I was truly traumatized when she did that I didn’t think I’d ever pick up a guitar again and It took me over 10 years to get a new guitar. I’m a new guitar player and I’m new to guitar playing. I’m working on getting an amp, just saving my money at the moment. When I got my guitar after all that time not having one, and when I started playing it by ear and learning it. I knew I couldn’t put the guitar down, I never wanted to part with it, it feels like I have anxiety when I’m not near it or not playing it or I’m away from it. Anyways thanks for the kind words
@@anbuninjagod5507 I had a wicked step-mom too. I get it.
It sounds like you were meant to play. Everything happens in its own time.
I’m 52 & have been through hell. Somehow, I got the call to Hollywood a few years ago, and here I am recording my debut album, Because it was meant to happen.
Good luck in your journey. Your time is now. ☮️
Captain i can't play but i'm gonna do these demos whilst all the good players in the shop don't get a look in!! Having a face thats perfect for radio doesn't help either.
8:10 Lee 😂
Dang son! That intro.
Why would I want to skip ahead pete's improv? Are you crazy???? :P
I only stayed for the purple Tuba
Original video with Rob was extremely funny..i would pay one british credit of the realm to get to jest what Pete was saying. And to get that 360deg view :D
Who honours a guarantee now on the D 'Angelico guitars? They are now defunct.
Blackstar amps aren't all tube.
Ha dude on R actually getting better finally. Dude On the R is still the shit tho
£111 shipping to the US 🥲
For 1 million subscribers I think instead of giving away a Klone you should give away Pete's purple Tele 😮
It's Dee Angelico
A member of the D'Addario family said they pronouce it "da-DARE-ee-oh"
You could get the Harley Benton Tube 15, that comes with a Celestion for £222 with free shipping!
Yes. But it's not the Good celestion speaker. It's the cheaper made in china ones.
@@mrfender5001 Do we know what ones are in these Blackstar’s?
But even if you stick a vintage 30 in the HB it’s still cheaper and Lee said you couldn’t get a valve amp for the price of those Blackstar’s!
Or you could get 2 for only £45 more!
I have the 6L6 and a friend bought one of the Tube15 Amps. They are not comparable regards build quality and tone in my opinion and I love cheap gear. I bought the 6L6 instead of a Blues Jr for home use. I think it's a great amp. Loads of headroom and sounds great with pedals. I don't think much of the reverb though and instead use a pedal into the front of it. Also not a fan of the dirt channel but if you use it as a single channel pedal platform it's great.
@@bobcatblooze I’ve heard the Tube 15 comes into its own and really sings when plugged into a bigger cab, but with 2 costing almost the same as one Blackstar, I think I’d take the 2 and have a stereo rig!
Don’t get me wrong, I like Blackstar gear and have an HT Dual and ID 60 in my collection but if I was looking for a small valve amp the Maths favour the Tube 15, particularly as the reviews I’ve seen have been great!
@@ces69 I hear ya dude. I recently commented on another vid that I'd rather have 2 Pro Jrs than a Princeton Tone Master for a similar price.
Wankerton's more like!!
Impressive. These days, no need to modify or hot rod any amps like the old days. The amps these days sound pretty killer right out of the box.
Yeah I kind of get that. Pete’s double entendres are starting to become a bit predictable. 😂😂 he can’t help himself whenever Lee mentions Knob, flange, muff or creamy.
