Hello, I have some questions about the wing scraper.
Do you have to slow down the operating speed compared to the low disturbance scraper? With wich speed can you operate the seeder?
How many fertilizer can you apply while seeding? You say just starter fertilizer, but is it not possible to apply the full amount of fertilizer which needs a crop during the year, e.g. in winter wheat, and also in high yielding areas in estern Europe?
Can you say a few words to compare this wing opener with the cross slot opener? What are the advantages and disadvantages of the wing scraper due to the cross slot opener, if you want as less as possible soil disturbance and as much as possible soil cover for no-till conservation agriculture and to bring out all needed fertilizer while seeding with a best possible seed placement which is not burned by fertilizer and without hair pinning? And in that case, is it possible to seed e.g. winter wheat in high residue cover crops in high yielding areas maybe in Ukraine and eastern Europe?
Is the wing scraper also available to install on other single disc airseeders?
For your other seeders, you have very wide frames. Do you release the coulter drill 3720 with 24m or more in the next years?
    Thanks for your answers!

      Bigfootjjoo,
Yes, due to the wider profile of the winged scraper, compared to the low disturbance scraper it is recommended to maintain a slower seeding speed to avoid soil throw. Seeding speeds are difficult to comment on without knowing all the other factors such as soil type, moisture, residue conditions, etc. but typically you will maintain approximately the same seeding speed as with a hoe type seed opener.
The 3720 ICD equipped with MRBs provides the ability to apply safe rates of starter fertilizer through the disc opener, and higher rates of nitrogen and sulfur in the mid row banders without endangering the germinating crop. Our agronomic studies are showing benefits of placing the nitrogen fertilizer 2" (50mm) below the original ground level to minimize nitrogen loss to the atmosphere. The Bourgault system allows you to adjust the MRB fertilizer depth independently of the seeding depth. The 3720 with MRBs offers the greatest range of options to achieve desired seed and nutrient placements while minimizing the risk of seed damage in a one-pass operation.
The winged scraper has a wider profile than the low disturbance scraper, but is required to place the seed away from the furrow cut by the disc where hairpinning can occur. The walking cleaner - packer wheel assembly will provide consistent seed placement, and you have in-cab control of the packing pressure so you can easily adjust pressure for optimal seed-to-soil contact. The seed coulters as well as the MRB coulters cut through residue to ensure both seed and fertilizer are well placed into the soil.
The winged scraper is available only on the 3720 Independent Coulter Drill, and currently available up to 70ft (21.3m) in size.
