  • recorded a few meters in front of where we recorded "(London, 1845)" and with a fully saturated color instead of black and white, fitting in so many ways.
    lyrics:
    a nose caked in
    smoke billowing
    from the north
    and a light smell
    of sulphur
the reek of a paper plant
    thought i had
    escaped
    change in the wind
    second time smoked out
    wings tipped snakes
    similar to atlas
    struggles yet different
    in a subtle way
    deathbed beneath
    the tamarack
    striking up a sad
    conversation
you see i say i saw
    a spotted salamander
    it drowned in our pond
    it’s yellow spots spoiled
the black went a milky grey
and still i scooped him out
not nearly the worst i’ve seen
    a mere waterlogged delay
    a samara sticks to me
    to my pink striped shirt
    and to the metal bottom
of my dead dad’s coffee mug
with a little bit of grass
    on the metallic sliding lid
    not dissimilar from
the coffin in which i hid
    his favorite quart of beer
and the dagger from my hip

such much creativitity in the playing of the guitar. i seem to only soak in conventions through mimicry at this point so im always blown away when people have the creative impulse. nice job

thank you so much for tuning in!
mimicry is one of the best ways to take it in, i feel, be a sponge! 🧽 🫶

OMG! This was the most creative video yet! I loved the title screen and how you walked into it. The colors were so vivid! Excellent! Your Field Recordings continue to be both visual and musical treats for the senses! No -- correction -- full meals! I cannot wait to see what you come up with for the next one!

I have watched three times. I loved the chimes and how they seemed to be the letters R and T. Wonderful! Thank you! One of your best musical performances of Root Rot. It is always one of your most entertaining songs in your repertoire.

i am so happy with how this one came out!
i wanted to play on with fact this song follows “(London,1845)” on the album, so i thought it fitting to recording it in practically the same spot, but instead of no color and high yellowing, i sent the saturation and made the pinks and blues pop!
made by black jeans, blue 👖
