New to your channel. I've had my Ryft kit together for 2 weeks and what a blast!!!! I'm running a hobbywing max 10 and a 2400kv blx from arrma (had to shave some plastic). Modifying this beast is as fun as running it.
Just had to do some plastic welding to my rear axle housing. Used 30lbs tie raps, stainless steel wire and a 60w soldering iron. Then went on crazy glue and 3 layers of baking soda. Monday my gpm lower trailing arms and ssd aluminum axle reinforcement tubs.
There something about the Ryft that’s just awesome, it’s gnarly looking. Sure I wish it was indestructible, however that’s not reality. Luckily for guys who like to modify from stock, Treal and Vitavon as well as GPM and Vanquish make bullet proof parts for it. Costs an arm and a leg, but it’s really nice to dial something in just the way you want it…. Also if you sell all the stock parts that you upgrade, you can offset the cost a bit. Great video by the way, thank you 🔥😋!
Yeah I definitely think the integration of Losi like electronics and drive train bit them on this design. I’d really like to see a Ryft 2.0 at some point fully locked, lowered, and maybe no electronics.
@@JtmwTv yes they are.i think the longer wheel base can help it as well as hurt it while crawling.i plan on doing 4ws,if treal would make a mirrored rear axle housing.
Axial is already sending out updated axles. Same design but with a better polymer blend. From what I heard on a few other YT channels, the factory that makes the housings for axial decided to skimp on the polymer formula after the R&D was done.
Love my Ryft, having said that I’ve also had the front axel issue. Also the servo saver is a joke. Ordered a Losi LMT one which is apparently much better. Not got a sway bar as yet. I’m undecided. 👍
I'm loving all the input on this rig , I haven't ran mine yet , waiting for all the fallout , I'm going to (TRY ) to get the avvrolon axles , or I'll be using the j.b. weld thing going , I'm a master with that stuff , it will make that axle industructible if mixed and applied correctly , clean everything with 99% alcohol to then apply jb , I'm waiting for this sway bar kit , so I can remodle it the way it should be , I have to admit from the second I opened the box and saw everything covered in shock oil I knew it was going to be a fun ride on this new axial attempt to creat quality , I've just always believed axial was to cheep of plastic all around , but love the stlye of this one so I'm diving in
So what battery will you use in there sideways? My normal batteries won’t it as they are too long. My little batteries may have a hard time powering it correctly.
A like for your honest opinion and I'm not sure how to feel about my ryft it's broke alot of part's 😳 and I've heard about the plastic being a bad batch and that's scary because I've worked in that industry but I'm torn between if it's that or axial made a huge mistake in releasing way to soon without real world testing I think it's a recall is needed for all the people that don't want to be sinking more money and time on a 🤔 RTR 💸💸💸
Ride height, it’s level. Also the u-joints in the driveshaft have worked awesome at handling any extreme angle. But I’ll agree, the trailing arm mounting location in this video was just for some testing.
How are you putting a battery in that now? Battery impedes the travel as well. Soooo how is this the lcg mod? You running a super shorty pack or something? You don't mind the extremely decreased run time?
Im running a battery that is just slightly smaller than a 5000mah 50C 3S, in the engine bay where the firewall would be. It sits just behind the shock towers before the a-pillar. It's the perfect place and I get a solid 20 minutes of run time.
I wouldn’t waste my time wit the stock. spider gears. Their crap cast metal and got out way to easy. I locked all three diffs and it’s a whole lot better. Maybe Axial can make some hardened steel spider gears then I’d try that.
I locked all 3 of mine up, I’m building it now. Vitavon makes upgraded spider gears for it.. All Treal and mostly Vitavon parts in the build. Got the Vitavon portals for it as well.
My first day with the Ryft was insanely fun up until i hit a mall bump at about half throttle and broke one of the rod ends on the front side where the drive shaft connects. its been out of commission for about a week now but Horizon has it and a replacement charger on the way free of charge. any idea how to change the link end and what size screwdriver would be required?
Forgive me here, but...did Axial listen to ANYTHING you had to say during the design consultation on this thing? Lots of mods, hacks, cuts, replacements and even breakage for a new truck. Couldn't everything you just listed here have been incorporated in the original design? I think Axial has a big swing and miss on this thing IMO. And they even had a lengthy delay on the release and still couldn't get the sway bar right to include it in the original releases? Come on Man!
Let me first say I am still very excited to have had the opportunity to give some feedback to axial, I’m very thankful for the opportunity. We were given the truck in November and production was pretty well set in stone. We were supposed to be doing some hardcore R&D from the perspective of Rock Bouncer experts. That’s when the axle issue was exposed and there wasn’t enough time to make the design change. The initial delay was just regular COVID issues, not a design delay. I think Axial rarely ran this setup with a sway bar. From their promo footage and just talking with them the sway bar didn’t seem like a HUGE priority. It was on the list but not a red flag. If I had input during the design phase I would have highly recommended taller shock hoops or shorter front shocks. They will fix the axle issue, not sure about warranty stuff but it will eventually be fixed. This is the new 2.2 axle going forward. All in all it’s a good starting place. Tons of mods and things to make it better will be available. Think back to the initial wraith release and what is possible now.
“It’s not fully broken” oh don’t worry. It will be. And soon as you replace it. It’ll break again. And again. And again. It’s a worthless pile of shit.

Love the FCA shirt! My uncle was a regional director for them. I'm build a Ryft from scratch with Treal and Vitavon parts. Nice video.
Awesome dude! Hope the build turned out killer!
I just purchased the newest kit version...can't wait ta build it.
It's definitely got it's pain points but it's one of the few cars that had stayed on the shelf forever. Good choice, enjoy the build!
I’m getting the kit version and I want to build it as more of a crawler/bouncer instead of a pure bouncer
What are your thoughts on the kit version
Same here...
Congrats on the new Crawler, I know they're more fun for Dad when they are older. Thanks for the tips on the RYFT also. ;- )
Love it, thanks!
I just got finished with my Ryft,I went with all the Treal parts I could get for it.built it for crawling, not bouncing.hadnt run it as of yet.
Treal makes awesome parts! Crawling Ryfts are sick!

I haven't gotten this info from Axial. My understanding is they are currently out of stock on replacement axle housings.
Time to break out the shoe strings and make some limit straps lol the white chassis looks awesome if I got one I think I do lime green 👍
Thats an awesome idea!

im keeping mine stock for now. had it for a few weeks it my short course rig kinda
Your Ryft is looking good. New subscriber here
Broke my front axle yesterday.

Ovonic Air 2200 50c fits with room to spare!
Will a 3500 kv 550 motor fit in a hobby grade ryft.
I like it without panels 👍👍👍
I think it looks pretty sharp myself!

Yes I agree broke axles rod ends this is junk at the price and what it’s meant to do. I will never buy another axial rc ever.
I"ve never seen such a great video in my life I wish you prosperity.
형제 친하게 지내봅시다. 🤩🤩
Vitovon racing has aluminum axles for the ryft
They are awesome!

Not a bad idea. Just locked them up from the get go.
I locked all 3 of mine up, I’m building it now. Vitavon makes upgraded spider gears for it.. All Treal and mostly Vitavon parts in the build. Got the Vitavon portals for it as well.
10 coats of paint just negated any LCG gain
Imagine thinking that.

That stinks man, I hope you've gotten things resolved since then
What type and brand of paint was used? Thanks.
Walmart Spray Paint
Do you know if the RBX10 and SCX10 axles interchangeable? If not, does someone make aluminum portal axles for the RBX10?
Vitavon makes them
Scx10 and RBX10 are not interchangeable. No portals for the RBX10 yet.
Where u get the sway bars from
Axial will be releasing them soon.

Completely garbage from axial at the price and what it’s meant to do breaks every plastic rod ends and axles and never buying a axial again

I agree Axial could have made this truck way stronger.
