    I’ve used this for a while and never knew a lot of these functions, like being able to play in the melody to sync with the DAW, the key switches, and the symbols for typing in articulations. Thank you so much for this. It’s going to make it a lot easier the next time I need to use this library.

    Great video. I thought of another thing that would make the use of word builder even better (at least for me). It would be great if we could just write the text in a textfile and then import it or copy and paste. Sometimes word builder get stuck and then you lose all that you wrote before.

      @@SecondTierSound I've just started experimenting with it, and it is quite astonishing, once you get your head around the phonetics. I can never make out the lyrics a choir is singing anyway, so as long as it's close to the libretto that should be good enough. Thank you very much for the review!
    When I first started listening to how the Hollywood choir sounds, I immediatelly realised that it sounds way better than the Symphonic version. But the price is higher, of course.
    However, the Symponic version has some nice vocal effects with different sounds.
    So I have to think which one to choose. And the sale on KVR ends soon!
    Anyway, the word builder is the most important feature for me. I already tried some words with the Symphonic choir, and it sounds nice!
    4:50
    I can hear the difference between normal legato and slow legato. Now I understand why in some other libraries I get better legato than in others: they sing it slowly!
    Also, I tried to understand the joke lyrics you added at the end. It was funny that I thought there are other words! But if you listen to choirs very often (for example Gregorian), you start to understand what they sing.
    So, you can write another piece of lyrics (not the joke one!) and let others listen to it. And after a month, you can reveal the text.

    • @SecondTierSound

      So, thanks again for the review! I'm already downloading the library.

    Thanks a lot for creating these videos.
    Through subscription I have all of their libraries at my fingertips, which is great of course.
    Regarding the wordbuilder, I only recently noticed, that different vowels and consonants are on different channels.
    This sometimes creates strange sounds, because e.g. in HBS some voices interpret the vowels or consonants differently, so while on key sings an m. another key doesn't react the same and sings a different consonant.
    Also it seems, that some of the channels don't have the reverb on, but sound "naked", which leads to strange sounds.
    Not really easy to get words sound realistically.
    I sometimes use VOCALOIDs, which are Solo Voices, but they can sing quite real. Unfortunately they only have one dynamic.
    Also RELAITONE "BLUE" Solo library has a word-/phrase-builder, which sounds astonishingly well.

    • @SecondTierSound
      @SecondTierSound  2 года назад +1

      Don't use the reverb in Opus. It is better to use your own for the entire channel. You save s lot of resources and will have less sound problems.

    Thank you very much for your video! Very good tutorial! I'm trying EW Hollywood Choirs for the first time and I'm experiencing a problem with OPUS and this library, because when I select the WB instrument (doesn't matter if Men or Women) it's hard to change the desired mics in the Mixes section, because a multi instrument of 14 instances is loaded and only one of them is affected by the Mic changes. It should be ideal that the Mix affects all of the slots, not only the selected one. I think this was the way it works with Play and in my opinion, a lot better for now.

    • @SecondTierSound
      @SecondTierSound  2 года назад

      Thank you. To be honest, I haven't tried the mics with the choir, but it doesn't surprise me this is a problem. I've noticed Opus still has a few minor issues.
      I would make sure you have the latest update, let EW know about the problem if it persists, and finally select each articulation (when loaded into worldbuilder) and change the mic manually, and then save it as your own multi patch, naming after the mic. Not a great solution but at least you would only have to do it once.

    I did try everything you show here in this video.
    So I email them and the person who helped me said there are no keyswitches in Hollywood choir, Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy to help!
    So I send them a link of this video as a proof that there is a keyswitch function it's just not a KS Patch like their other instruments,
    do you maybe have a suggestion about this drama?

    • @SecondTierSound
      @SecondTierSound  Год назад

      Well, it seems like they are caught with specific words. THERE ARE keyswitches absolutely, but not in the way they normally have "keyswitch patches" that you can modify. And then only Hollywood Choir can do this, the others can't And, maybe see it as a function in the text editor that can also be controlled with specific keys.

    Hello my friend, very Nice tutorial About HW choirs diamond. Van you make another video About THE wordbuilder. How putting I a whole text into my daw? I saw you doing something with a kind of learnfunction, but it was verry Quick And short. You know a lot more than I do, so I hope you have THE answer?
    Kind regards,

      Thank you. I'm not entirely sure what you are asking. But you can always play the video again, slow it down, and pause it. I don't plan to do another video about the worldbuilder soon I'm afraid, and i have pretty much covered all there is to it. Perhaps if you have a more specific question?

      The first midi note will trigger the first word in the worldbuilder. When you have entered the text, use the learn function

    I'm glad you're opening demo is Handel's Messiah because that's where I'm trying to work out problems. The sopranos and altos don't always sing the same words. Sometimes the sopranos are supposed to be silent, or the altos are singing words the sopranos are not. Is there a way to cut out the sopranos, or have them sing words that differ from the altos?

      Just load four instances of the choir, two for women, two for men. Write the parts out as the original.

      It uses the Opus engine, so not kontakt. But the library comes with the engine. I am sure you can load any engine in sibelius, but I don't know if you would be able to use the functions of the library well in Sibelius as it does better in a DAW.
      Cheers!

    Morning, maybe this is a dumb question but how does all this work with BPM? I mean there must be a BPM so that the voices stay in synch and in key? I haven't found any reference to this as yet? Maybe I have the wrong idea but any advice would be gratefully received.....well cool video though, I love Ice Cream.....

    • @SecondTierSound
      @SecondTierSound  Месяц назад +1

      Hello! Great question. As long as you write midi notes in time you're going to be in synch with the wordbuilder, as the midi notes follow your DAWs tempo. The prerecorded phrases, on the other hand, are not time synched.

    Great video! But the "Learn" function does not work for me. I reset the position in word builder and I hit learn, I start the melody (in the Daw). The word builder has exactly the same number of syllables with the notes of the melody. But, later when I start playback from somewhere in the middle of the melody, the function does not remember what syllable was on what note. Am I doing something wrong?

    • @SecondTierSound
      @SecondTierSound  Год назад

      I've not encountered this problem, but I've noticed that the engine isn't always totally hassle-free. I normally only write all the all the syllables when i know exactly what I will write and then bounce the track.

    I have the musicxml file and the midi file is in a track in Reaper. I open Opus multi word builder and i can play the keys in opus and hear words, but I can not mix what I am doing in word builder with the midi file in Reaper. I do not use a keyboard . . I export my midi file from finale ... using musicxml format to get a more acurate representation of what I have composed by hand. SO can anyone tell me how to produce the sounds and lyrics in reaper ?

    Hi! Really enjoyed this video! I have a question... is it possible to 'hold' a syllable whilst changing notes (whilst performing via keyboard), or would this need to be programmed in the word builder? Like for example, in your intro, the fifth 'Hallelujah' has two notes over the 'Ayy' sound. Thanks again for the amazing content!

    • @SecondTierSound
      @SecondTierSound  Год назад +2

      The easiest way is to write it in the builder. If the vowel is held over several notes that change pitch, write the vowel as many times as the changes

    I find that the Hollywood choir's volume level differs drastically from note to note. Is there an easy way to balance the sound levels, or is that just how it is?

    • @SecondTierSound
      @SecondTierSound  Год назад +1

      I think you are right. It depends on the combination. I often adjust the volume. You have to work at it a bit to get a good result. I use it when I need a specific phrase because no other library can do it, but it means work. When the words are not important, i use other libraries.
